Stitched Snowman

Hello - welcome to my blog today, Here is another Christmas card for Shirley's Christmas card Challenge
This is a pattern I used last year and liked so much decided to make another to use this year, hope I remember who I sent the other one too LOL.
I managed going to choir tonight and still have some voice - the irony of it was that we are rehearsing Christmas songs for our end of year concert. We've had another upheaval with conductors so have had to cancel the upcoming concert which means we have brought the carols in earlier. I had a good time at class with Shirley today and made a couple of cards and a small milk carton from a die cut.
Well thanks for dropping by,
Take care,
Sandy

Thoughts of You and Tweet Talk

Hello again, Just a short post tonight, have had another quiet day. I've got two cards to share tonight. They are made using Penny Black Slapstick Stamps called "Thinking of You" and "Tweet Talk". Had to change the name in the title because I've already posted previously with Thinking of You. All cardstock is from my stash and images have been coloured with watercolour paint for the girl in purple and SU inks for Tweet Talk.
Also wanted to say hello to new followers, especially Mum and my niece, Michelle and also Carol.
Take care,
Sandy

Butterfly swirl

Hello - hope you all have had a relaxing weekend, I've had a reasonably quiet day. My daughter popped in today and picked up her two dogs,I've had one of them for about 6 months and my son was looking after the second. He went out last night so there were 5 dogs here for the night. She lives in a rental and has finally been able to ask if she can have dogs there - so both of them have now gone to live with her. My son picked up his dog too. Now I am back to being a two dog family. I suppose they will be back from time to time!
Well I have made another butterfly card. I used the brayer and some torn scrap paper to make the orange background and then stamped in SU Brocade Blue. The swirl butterfly pattern and the sentiment are from Stamp It and the butterly in the lower corner is from a T J Designs Set called Song Birds. The blue card is also from SU but have lost the wrapper so not sure what it is called.
Thanks for stopping by and also to those who are leaving me comments.
See Ya,
Sandy

A card for Jane

Hi, still recovering from my cold but not so bad today. It's getting late and I've been watching Inspector Morse on tv and just realised that I hadn't posted yet.
Thanks for the comments left for me, I appreciate them. Also, hope Michelle and her family get over their colds quickly - it's not fun when several of the kids have colds at the same time. I've had 5 children and hated it when they all got sick at once!!
Anyway, I thought I would share the card I made for my friend Jane's birthday - it was a bit late but I hope she liked it.
Thanks for stopping in,
Sandy

Butterfly Delight

I've got a cold, so didn't go to choir rehearsal last night or craft this morning or the concert I was invited to tonight. Thought I had better stay home and keep my germs to myself and hope I am better tomorrow as I am supposed to be teaching some friends how to make a box shaped like a carrot using heart die cuts.
I have had a bit more time to play and dig around in my stash of papers! I have had this beautiful butterfly paper for a while and decided it was time to use it! The sentiment is from a Stamp It set of butterflies that has several sayings as well. I've used a die cut to stamp on and cut out one of the butterflies and mounted over the edge of the die cut with the matching butterfly underneath and added a few pearls.
Thanks for stopping in today - hope you see something here that you like,
Sandy

Evening Romance

Hello it's still raining on and off again today and my friends and I have spent the afternoon crafting. I managed to make a birthday card for a friend as well as this card that I've made tonight. I've used Pear Pazazz again for the base card and also the matte behind the image. The image is from Hampton Arts and I've only stamped a part of it to use on the pale yellow die cut. Designer Paper is from my stash and I thought it suited the image. I also attached one of the flowers I bought yesterday. LOL I only bought five and I've already used 2! They are really a creamy white but here they show up really white, they do blend more in real life.
Thanks to all who've commented on the card I put in for the Make It Monday Linky Party Very much appreciated. I am going to add this one as well.
Take care,
Sandy

Vintage Woman

Hello to all who are stopping by today, it's cold here in Adelaide and again we've had some rain. My card tonight is on Pear Pizazz cardstock from SU - I've used both sides of the designer paper as I've used it to matte the image as well as a backing paper. The stamp is another beautiful stamp called "Lady of the House" from Stamp-It. I coloured the image with SU inks Rose Red, Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry and also sponged around to create a mottled background, then finished it off with a flower I bought today and some pearl bling also from SU. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments.
I'm going to enter this one into Make It Monday Linky Party.
Thanks for looking,
Sandy

Christmas Candle

More rain today! and pretty cold tonight. I had to go to choir but no singing as it was the Annual General Meeting with supper to follow. It's also my wedding anniversary today and Adrian is in Western Australia, so rang him to say I hoped he was enjoying our wedding anniversary!! LOL.
Anyway, tonight's post is another card for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge. I've only got another 3 to make now. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
Another paper embroidery piece, a candle with a swirly edging. Designer Paper is from Kaszazz - added a circular sentiment stamp and some red bling - all mounted onto a red base card
Enjoy your evening,
Thanks for stopping by,
Sandy

Sailing boat

Well, we've had another off and on again rainy day, it's just been bucketing down and it seems to have stopped again. My husband rang tonight to let me know he arrived safely back in Western Australia and there seems to be plenty of work around so hopefully he will have a job by next week. His truck started okay but is quite dusty inside from sitting at the airport carpark for the last 6 months.
I've just finished this card off, a male birthday card as I don't seem to do very many of those! This is a stamp I picked up on my Tassie holiday, the saying is from a stamp from "Imprint" picked up on e-bay and the sentiment from SU stamp set "Small Sayings"
I coloured the image with inks and a blending pen.
Thanks again to those popping in and leaving comments, much appreciated!
Take care,
Sandy

Be Merry - embroidered tree

Back again, I thought I would post this one as well as I've just finished it. Another Christmas card for my stash and also for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge. It's a red base card with a white matte, a strip of striped paper topped with the embroidered tree and a Be Merry sentiment from SU inked with Real Red also SU. This means I should only have 4 more to go to finish off my 50 and then I can have a break from making Christmas cards!!
Off to bed soon as my husband is going off early - flying interstate to look for work again, so an early rising for both of us as I will drive him to the airport,
Bye,
Sandy

Happiness - vintage

It's been a very wet and windy day today and have been to church, delivered 4 dozen jelly cakes for a fundraiser for my choir and then off to Shirley's to make 3 lovely cards and have a try colouring with copic markers. Jane, Shirley and I enjoyed chatting as well as making cards and it's good to see Shirley's husband Doug improving from week to week after his stroke.
Well I want to share this card made with a Hampton Arts Stamp Set - stamped in SU Basic Grey and layered onto a cuttlebugged piece - script - then onto black and all of it mounted onto a grey base card. Topped it off with the sentiment from SU and also stamped in grey.
Thanks for stopping in and hope you all enjoyed your weekends,
Sandy

Camels from the East and Pink Christmas Tree

Well, I thought it might be a good idea to post a little earlier today as we have a storm warning and there has already been a bit of lightning around. I've made a couple of Cards for Shirley's Christmas Card Challenge, I've used a sticker on sparkly pink paper and built it up into a 3D tree - The sentiment is from SU I've placed these on an embossed topnote diecut and then onto blue card from my stash. Added some bling to the topnote as well. The other card uses designer paper from Kaszazz and image stamped is from Stamp-It. I used a border punch(EK Sucess) on maroon cardstock and everything mounted onto a green card base also from stash. I finished it off with a Merry Christmas sticker.
Thanks for stopping by today,
Take care and have a good weekend,
Sandy

Baby cards for Isaac

It's late again, have been watching a movie on tv called Runaway Jury, not bad. I was still playing around with my cards though. I thought I would share the card I made for our new grandson and also the ones that I helped his sisters make for him. Amelia (6) made the one with the monkey - I helped cut around the tail and she pretty well did the rest. The flowers on both Amelia's and mine were cut with the cuttlebug and were part of an alphabet set. Layla (she'll be 3 on Monday!) made the one with the owl, she stamped both the owl (I helped her punch it out), the heart and the sentiment and I put the paper on, she also chose the colours! The one I made was based on another card that my friend Shirley made as a kit for us a while ago. I changed it slightly by adding a couple of different elements. I was hoping to use the other one but it was in pink!
Thanks again to those who are leaving me comments - I love to hear what you have to say!
See you soon,
Sandy

Wishes on wings

Hello to everyone popping in today. My granddaughters have now gone home with Dad tonight, the baby got to go in a normal crib for a short period, but is back in the humi-crib again with the possibility of being in with Mum tomorrow, his oxygen intake was a bit poor when he was sleeping. He now has a name, it's Isaac. I didn't get to see him today as was out crafting and then just spent about an hour with the girls, Mum and Dad in the hospital room. DIL feeling better and had been down to feed bubs!
a couple of times.
Here is today's card made with a stamp set from Hampton Art featuring the bird and cage and the sentiment is from SU, Both card and striped paper are from my stash. I used Pacific Point SU ink and also the Basic Grey.
I am going to enter this into Make It Monday Linky Party
See you soon,
Sandy

Vintage Anniversary and Baby News

Our grandson has arrived! Slight problem with fluid on his lungs so he is in the nursery until that improves, hopefully that won't be very long and there will be no other problems. My son and DIL haven't given him a name yet as they were wanting to spend time with him for inspiration as they hadn't come up with a definite choice but Lisel is still in bed on a fluid drip and not really seen him since the birth this morning and she is fairly tired. My husband and I took the girls in to see their little brother. I didn't get to see their reaction as only 3 people could go in to the nursery at a time, and it was good that my son could take them with him. He was 7.5 lb (3.6kg) and 51cm long, very cute! I'm biased though LOL.
The girls are staying over again tonight, they have been very good as usual.
I did get to make a couple of cards today and here is one of them.
A new set of unmounted rubber stamps that I had "fun" sticking to cling backing and cutting out. Even with the scissors made especially for doing this it's still very sticky! Card is from SU but papers out of the stash - image and sentiment stamped in SU Really Rust ink and a few blue/grey pearls to finish it off.
Thanks for popping in and also to those who left comments on my last post, much appreciated,
Sandy

Follow your Dreams

Hi, I'm back from holidays with my Mum and back into craft today with Shirley this morning making another 3 beautiful cards. I am babysitting my 2 granddaughters today as my DIL is going in ahead of time to have their baby tomorrow. So Amelia and Layla are staying overnight and then I will take them in tomorrow after the baby is delivered to see their new little brother. I came home Monday thinking I had plenty of time because DIL was booked in for Friday, but she is having some problems with her blood pressure.
Well I managed to make one card tonight and here it is - this is a Kaszazz stamp and card and papers from stash and a few bits of bling to jazz it up.
Thanks Jane for the welcome home.
Hope you have all had a reasonable week
Take care,
Sandy

A True Classic

Hello, greetings from my new computer!!!! It is so quiet and a lot speedier too. Even has a touch of my favourite colour purple on the top of the box.
Well, I'm off to a concert with my friend Fran tonight, can't remember the name, it's The Class of ? and has Buddy Holly songs etc in it. Should be a good night.
So... I'm posting early today and with the other card I made last night because I haven't had a chance today. Have been to the vet to pick up my daughter's dog as he ate maybe 4 ibuprofene tablets last night and had to go the 24 hour clinic and be sorted out and ended up having to stay over 24 hours. Over $800 later, he seems just as fine as he was when he went in so looks like there were no negative results, except for the big dent in my daughter's finances.
The image and sentiment on the card are from a Forever Friends set called "The Good Life"
MaryJ, thanks for the colouring tip will have to visit a proper art store I think and my pencils are watercolour too which means they won't work with the OMS.
Hope you get your new computer!
Thanks for stopping by,
Take care,
Sandy

You're a Gem

Hello to any visiting my blog today. Have been out crafting this morning and then out to pick up my new computer which is sitting on the floor waiting for Dave, my daughter's partner to come and set it all up for me. I got 1 load of washing done and also the dishes. Also.... I made a couple of cards. This one has a little owl stamp which I borrowed from a friend, Jane. She picked it up in a scrapbook shop whilst in Melbourne last week. The sentiment is from SU set "You're a Gem" and I've used my circle and scalloped circle punches. Card and papers are from my stash so don't remember exactly where they came from.
Hope you have all had a good day and are looking forward to the weekend.
Thanks for popping in,
Sandy

Fabulous Birthday

Hi and thanks for coming to look at my blog, hope you are finding something to interest you. My card today features a little girl holding a rose, I'm a bit disappointed in the colouring as it didn't come out very even but didn't want to scrap her altogether so have added a bit of pearl bling and used a nellie snellen die to cut the white card for the sentiment and some paper from my stash and a purple base card.
Hope everyone has had a good day and see you all again soon.
Take care,
Sandy

Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone, I went out last night to an Andre Rieu Concert - a great concert which featured Australia's "The Seekers" group who got back together just to sing in Andre's concert.
I've been to craft this morning and have a new person on my table. She has been crafting quite a long time and also teaches at another group. She wants to do some paper embroidery, which she already knows how to do so there will be no teaching involved unless she wants to try out stamping. I'm fairly sure she has done most techniques, so I could probably only show her maybe some new ways to showcase her artwork.
My card today features a lovely girl image which I've stamped in SU Basic Grey and added the Greeting from a separate set of stamps as I wanted to continue the vintage look - I've used Rose Red cardstock from SU, black and also white card from my stash and as you can see I've used a border punch and also my cuttlebug for a bit of extra embellishment. I'm also entering this one in the Make It Monday Linky Party.

Moments To Remember

An early post today as off to the pictures tonight and not sure whether I'll get on again afterwards. The card I am sharing today I am entering in Make It Monday Linky Party
It's another vintage style card using a Kaszazz lacy background stamp, sentiment from TJ Designs Vintage Collage and I can't remember where the girl image came from, but it was a set of 4 stamps. I've distressed all the edges with ink, stamped the top of the card also with the lacy background stamp, gave the lace a dunking in tea!(think I could have left it in there a bit longer) and added some pearls - I used a border punch on a square of vanilla card to make the frame for the stamped image.

Magnolia Wedding

Hello, we've had a wet day here in Adelaide today, started the day off badly by oversleeping and having to make a mad dash to get to church on time. I'm in the choir so need to get gowned and also we run through the music before going in to the service. I missed the rehearsal! Oh well, luckily it was one I have sung before. I picked Jane up afterwards and we headed to Shirley's for an afternoon of cardmaking. Had a couple of starts on one of the cards, not getting the pressure right on the stamp, but it finally worked out okay LOL. You can see the card on Shirley's blog It's called "Time"
Well... here is my card for today - a wedding card. Our son is getting married next year, so I am playing around with stamps and ideas for a card for them. I'm going to make a few and then pick one of them to use.
I've used a pale pink base card, some paper from a wedding scrapbook paper kit and this delightful image from Magnolia Stamps. It doesn't seem to have scanned that well, the grooms suit I did in grey with blue shirt, black shoes. I left the bride's dress white with a touch of very pale pink lace and coloured the roses in pink, the bride's hair looks a bit brash in the scan but okay on the actual card!
I've also added a backing paper when I scanned to show the card edges.
Hope your day has been an enjoyable one and thanks for stopping by,
Take care,
Sandy

Lady in Pink

Good evening everyone, it's late and I've just finished this card so I can post, it's the second one I've made using this lacy background stamp. I'm saving the other one until Monday so I can post on Make it monday linky party. I've been to the Barossa Valley today (Saturday - I know it's after midnight, but I'm still in Saturday mode!) for a bit of a look around and then on to sing in a concert. It's been a long day, left about 10.45a.m. and got home about 11.30 p.m. So a bit of a play with the cards to relax before going to sleep.
Not sure whether it is quite right, probably shouldn't be trying to do something so late!
Welcome to Cindy, thanks for joining as a follower and for your comments on my last post.
