Catch you in a week's time

Sorry no card tonight, I went off to Shirley's for craft this morning and we made 3 cards, I had a quick lunch out with a friend and then dropped her home and sorted out my case a bit and then popped down to the shop to grab a couple of things to take with me to Tassie. Our youngest daughter came for tea and then we all went separate ways, I went off to choir practise, she went home and hubby went to a classic motorbike meeting and then was coming home and going with two of our sons to Peake which is about 100 mile away. They are staying overnight and doing a bit of bike riding tomorrow, although I gave Adrian strict instructions to stay off the bikes or anything that could cause him to injure his ribs again!!!
So.... that's it from me for a week. I was hoping to get some posts scheduled while I was away, but just didn't get the time to do it. Hope you all have a fantastic week and get some great cards made, Catch up with you soon,
Sandy.

Time Goes By

Wow, only two more sleeps, LOL, and I will be off to Tasmania for a week. I was hoping to schedule posts while I was away, but haven't had time to make extra cards so unless I get some done tomorrow, I will have to wait until I get home.
I went off to the craft shop with a friend today and she surprised me with some cash to spend there for my birthday. I bought two mini stacks of paper and have used two different pieces in today's card. We also ran into another friend in the carpark who we hadn't seen for a while so she went back into the shop and chatted while we looked around and then we asked her to come to a local cafe for coffee. It was really good to see her and catch up with her news and share some of ours too. We ended up having a bit of lunch and then come back here. I thought I had to be at the doctors at 2.30 p.m. so was pottering around home sorting out what to take away with me and next minute I get a call from the doctor's surgery checking if I was coming for my appointment - I had got the time wrong - it was supposed to be 2 p.m. She told me to come at  2.30. I was seeing a nurse to fill in paperwork and organise a health package to see dentist, podiatrist, dietician and an exercise physiologist! All because I have diabetes and need to make sure all these other areas are taken care of. I get a certain amount of free appointments and then it's up to me if I have to follow any up. Anyway, I was then late for the doctor as well, he had to sign all the paperwork. He told me that he was fully booked in the morning from 10 -11 a.m. and all those patients didn't arrive until 11 a.m. So he had a very busy day trying to get back onto schedule and then I got my time wrong too! Oh well, it's all organised now and will wait until I get back from holidays to start making appointments!!
Onto the card for today...
I've used SU More Mustard for the basecard and then a layer of DP. I cut another piece of DP to go across the middle of the card and then added my digi image which is from Beyond the Fringe. I used a bit of distress ink on parts of the image and coloured the seat and cogs in with Copic Markers. I used an alphabet die to cut out the letters for my sentiment and stuck them to white card which I also distressed with Vintage ink. The inside of the card has a piece of SU Early Espresso and a strip of DP leftover from the piece I used on the front. I added a white diecut, distressed  it with ink and stamped the sentiment called "Good Times" by Kaszazz in Basic Brown ink.
Oops forgot to mention who made the DP, it is from Prima marketing and is called "Almanac Collection"

Boy with scooter

Hi, as I sit at the computer it is bucketing down with rain outside. It's been quite a reasonable day today - how has it been in your part of the world? We went to church this morning and a lot of parks were already taken as there was some roller skating event in the square closest to the church. Adrian dropped me off and went down to the airport as he had been working there yesterday and when he handed his driver's licence over to security, he either wasn't given it back or he dropped it or something and they rang him up to tell him it was there. He was back in time for the start of the service. I have to be there a bit earlier as the choir has a short rehearsal before service. Home for lunch after a quick stop at the supermarket. Hubby had a sleep and then went off to help our son work on a car at our daughter's house. He must have called in to our son and DIL's on the way back and they were replacing some of their side fence. When he eventually came home, he had invited them back for tea. We were having corned silverside, mashed potato, carrots, peas and mustard sauce. They both love that so were happy to come but left not long after eating as they were really tired from working on the fence. I watched a bit of tv and then got stuck into making my card. Here is what I've used. The basecard is the other half of the blue card I used yesterday, the DP is from the pack of papers from Merci called "Boys". The image is a digi from Phindy's Place and was coloured with Copic Markers. I cut it into a square and mounted onto a piece of SU Real Red. I stamped the Birthday sentiment with SU Basic Brown ink onto another smaller square and backed it again with the red. I added some faux stitching to finish it off. The inside has a scrap of the DP and then a white topnote diecut for writing on.

Wild About You

Welcome to my blog, I'm up late as usual, I had my eldest daughter over this morning, looking at venues on the computer and different menus and prices. They are still looking for somewhere to have the wedding reception in November. When she left, I got ready and went to my friend' Judy's for craft. I just took some digis to colour. All the girls gave me birthday gifts which was very kind!!Some crafty bits and pieces for cardmaking, a large container with segmented boxed sections on the sides to keep beads or crafty things in. A lovely wooden box with a bird painted on it, a mug and a purple watch that has a clip so you can hang it on your bag on maybe on your jeans. And, of course, several hand made cards too. I made my teeth sore again eating corn chips so when I got home had to have panadol, it has taken several hours to settle down again. I still have a couple of weeks before I get to see the dentist again, so will have to watch what I eat from now on. Well I will get on and share my card. I've used blue card for the basecard, I think it is one of the SU blues, but I've lost the packet. The DP is from a mini stack by We R Memory Keepers called "Travel light" - a freebie pack with a magazine. The image is a digi from Bugaboo and coloured with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from SU set "Wild About You" I used two different nestie shapes to cut the image and the backing - that is SU Garden Green. On the inside of the card I also used a piece of Garden Green, a scrap of the DP and a white nestie shape as well.

Rainin" Daisies and a picture of me on my birthday!

Hello everyone, a continuation of birthday celebrations today as I went out with my Mum for lunch. I bought a few books as birthday pressies for a couple of the grandchildren and found a coat and several pairs of shoes in the op shop - one pair are exactly what I was after to complete my flapper outfit. I actually found them at the RSPCA op shop at the top of our street. A quiet night at home, cooked some chicken drumsticks for tea, a sort of casserole, but done on the top of the stove, not in the oven.
Both my son and hubby have to work tomorrow so are both asleep although our son only come home about 20 mins ago so he could still be on his phone or facebook.
The card I am sharing today was made with a new stamp, a birthday gift from my friend, Jane.
Here is what I used.
The base card is SU Pacific Point. I tore a piece of DP (from my scrap stash) and mounted onto a piece of SU Real Red and then tore that as well. I cut a large scalloped circel with my nesties in Real Red and then I used another scrap to cut a plain circle out as well. The image is from Penny Black called "Rainin' Daisies" and I couloured in with Copic Markers and used some Jelly Roll pens on the flowers to give a bit of sparkle. It probably won't show up in the scan. I thought is still needed something and I tried a few circles and ovals with a sentiment in and they just didn't look right, so I ended up using an alphabet die to cut a few letters in scraps of the red to make "For You". I haven't decorated the inside yet.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Gotta go and get some sleep so see you tomorrow,

This is me and our youngest grandchild who is about 11 months old. Cute isn't he, (I'm definitely biased, LOL) There were about 4 people all trying to make him look at the camera to have his photo taken, if you look at my eyes, you can see I was looking at them all doing their silly faces and actions. A real hoot!!! The flowers are the box my youngest daughter bought me. The orchids are lovely, unusual colours. I think they may have dyed them possibly.

Cool Skater

Hi everyone, it is my birthday today and started off early with several text messages, a couple of phone calls and a few more texts. I then went off to a shop called Dance FX to see if I could find a wig for my flapper outfit that I am going to wear to our daughter's engagement party. Her married name is going to start with an "F" so they are having a themed costume party using the letter. I decided that a flapper outfit would be a good idea. I couldn't find a long string of pearls so am going to make my own. I'm nearly all equipped, I've got the dress, the stockings, headband, feather boa, the wig and a long cigarette holder, just need to make the necklace and look for a pair of shoes. Thought I might try a secondhand shop for the shoes. The party is a month away so have got time to look for them.
I was going to go to a friend's place for craft this afternoon but we decided to go out for lunch and then onto a craft shop as I had 4 Copic Markers that needed refilling! We stopped on the way back and had a coffee before I dropped her home and then came back here. Our kids wanted to come for a meal with us to celebrate so we had 17 of us for tea at the hotel. It included two couples as well as family. Our son that recently got married gave me a lovely framed picture from their wedding. Our youngest daughter bought me a lovely box of flowers with unusual orchids mixed in with the other flowers, a notebook with my name on it from the grandchildren, another photo frame from the eldest son and DIL, two pairs of nice socks from our eldest daughter (they are going on holiday with me!), another bunch of flowers, an old sandwich platter from hubby (I have a small collection of old crockery) and a dvd from the youngest son. A long day but it's been a good birthday. Tomorrow I am catching up with Mum for lunch. After all this partying, I am going to have to watch what I eat as I have my eye on a dress for the wedding and I'll need to fit into it, LOL.
So, here is my card,
I've used a bright orange card for the basecard and then a layer of DP from Rosie's Studio A5 designer papers called "Retro Revolution". Another piece of DP from a pack of papers called "Boys" from Merci. I matted it with a bright green card. The image was stamped in SU Early Espresso and then coloured with Copic Markers. The image is called Skateboard Billy and is made by Fern Gully Stamps. I matted it with a piece of SU Real Red card and popped it up with foam dots. The inside has a piece of DP to match the front and I used a nestie die to cut a green diecut and then traced the inside onto white card and trimmed to fit inside it.

Cute Bunny

Hello again, hope you've all had a wonderful day. Mine started off with a visit to the pound near our daughter's house as both her dogs got out somehow and luckily were both found by people and reported to the pound. They were lucky as they crossed the same road where poor little Gracie (the cat) got run over a couple of days ago. These two belong to our eldest daughter. I picked them up and paid $100 and also got the paper work for two fines of $80 each. Apparently it's normally $100 dollars per dog and $100 per dog for the fine, so they were kind enough to reduce it. I'm not sure if they had been able to get them yesterday whether they would have had to pay all of that. They didn't find out until they got home and by then the pound was shut for the day and the dogs had to spend the night in cages. I brought them back here for the day and they went home tonight.
Our middle son surprised me by dropping in at lunchtime and having lunch with me, he was actually sitting on the front verandah eating when I got back with some groceries and my lunch so it was well timed.
Gail asked which nestie I used on yesterday's card, it was labels Twenty-Three.
Now on to the card I would like to share today.
I've used the other half of the pink card from yesterday for the basecard and then a layer of SU Certainly Celery and a dotty piece of DP from stash. I cut a nestie shape with Labels Twenty-One and then drew around the inside and used that to cut a rectangular shape for the cute rabbit digi from Meljen's Designs. I coloured it with Copic Markers and finished it off with a couple of pink rhinestones. I also decorated the inside with a piece of the green, a large diecut in the DP and used the same method to make a white piece for the insert. It didn't stand out very well so I used a green Marvy marker to go around the edge for some definition.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Blossom Birds

Hello, welcome to my blog. Hope if you are visiting you will find something to interest you.
I had an interesting day today. I got up and showered, had breakfast and tablets and then put some washing on. My friend Fran, rang up to see if I wanted to go and pick up our SU order from our friend Shirley later in the day as she was meeting in the morning with a lawyer and her 2 sisters to receive the personal items their Mum wants them to have as she has gone into a nursing home and they will have to sort out her house and sell things so they can rent the house out to provide income for her to be in the nursing home. She was also going out with a group of friends from a country craft group to a movie and asked if I wanted to go to that. She picked me up and we had just enough time to get some lunch and meet the "Chooks & Chicks" girls at the cinema. The film was reasonably good and when we came out we all went to have coffee in the little cafe next to the cinema. It's about 30 min trip from home and by that time the traffic was getting quite heavy. We had to drop in some things to her Mum at the nursing home, so stayed about 10 mins there and then drove out the other side of town to pick up our SU order. So it was about 6 p.m. before I got home. Finally remembered the clothes on the line and had to go grab them off the line after dark! I don't like spiders so would have preferred to bring them in during the daylight before the spiders come out to play!!!!
Well onto my card for today. I've used a pink cardstock from my stash for the base, a layer of SU Wisteria Wonder and then I cut 3 strips of a DP called Wedding Stripes, not sure who by because it was on the back of the paper and I had already stuck that piece down. I cut a white nestie shape and stamped the image which is a clear stamp called Blossom Birds by Penny Johnson Vintage - Stampavie. I used Basic Brown ink and coloured with Copic Markers. I wasn't impressed as 4 of the markers I used all ran out of ink while I was colouring this one and it was really difficult finishing it off. Got there in the end!!! I traced around the outer edge of the nestie die and cut it out in SU Pear Pizazz - added a sentiment from Petite Pairs using a green Marvy Marker and punched it out with a circle punch and then mounted it onto a green punched scallop. I added some lines with a purple marker and some white dots with a gel pen. The inside has a layer of Wisteria Wonder and two different size nestie diecuts.

An Owl amongst the Trees

Hello, thanks to those who sent sympathy messages for my daughter in the loss of her cat. Much appreciated.
I had another day at home today except for a trip to the doctors to have my 3 month blood work check for my diatbetes and also a trip to the chemist to replenish tablets. I hate paying out money for tablets and fish oil and vitamins!!!
It was quite a warm day here today so did several loads of my son and husbands clothes. Now that Adrian is back at work, I have more dirty work clothes to do. I watched a couple of talent shows on tv tonight and as they were both on at the same time, I did a bit of remote flicking trying to see as much of both as I could. One is just showcasing singing and the other one any sort of talent.
The card I want to share tonight is made using SU Early Espresso card for the base and it has a top fold. I used a piece of SU Peach Parfait and then a piece of DP from a mini pad by Kaisercraft called "Tiny Woods". I printed this image out several months ago and had coloured it and put aside for later use. I think it was a Doodle Pantry Digi. The sentiment is from a clear set of Kanban stamps. I added 3 black rhinestones to the right hand corner. The inside of the card has a layer of the peach parfait and a strip of the DP as well.

Day on the Ocean

We've just heard from our daughter that her cat has been run over. They took her to the vet, but she was too hurt and they have put her to sleep. (Rachel, sorry little Gracie has gone, sending you love and a big hug, Mum.)
I don't feel much like chatting, so will just share the card I made for a challenge and have realised that it has already finished.
I've used SU Night of Navy for the basecard, a layer of SU Real Red and then 2 different DP's also from Stampin'Up. The image is from a retired set called "Seaworthy" and the anchor on the inside is from a current set called "The Open Sea" The sentiment is from SU set "Petite Pairs" I coloured the image with Copic Markers and cut it out with a deckled oval die and then mounted it onto a piece of red and trimmed around it. I popped it up with foam dots and added 3 red rhinestones to the right hand corner.

Bird on a Swing

Hi, hope you are all enjoying your weekend. It was a lovely day here today. My son arranged for a friend to do a little job on my car this morning so I didn't get it back until just after lunch time. A couple of different warning messages kept popping up, some glitch in the computer and it needed a wire upgrade? as well. Luckily he also noticed one of the headlights wasn't fully functional and popped in a globe for free. There is another small job that needs doing and he has ordered the parts and Laurie can do the work for me so no labour cost involved. Yeah!!! He's a motor bike mechanic, but has done work on his own cars so can use that knowledge on the car.
Had several of the kids drop in today and also leave dogs here for a "visit" with our dogs. Our youngest daughter came for tea - we had roast beef and roast vegies. Finished off with a glass of Muscato as I accidently knocked the bottle out of the fridge and it made the top come open slightly and was leaking out so....LOL, we had to drink it.
My card for today was made using SU Pacific Point for the basecard, a layer of SU Wisteria Wonder and then a chequered yellow DP from We R Memory Keepers called "TRAVEL light" a freebie pad with a magazine. The little image is from Bugaboo and was printed onto white card and coloured with Copics and adhered to a piece of the blue card. I cut 2 different size nesties - one in Wisteria Wonder and the smaller one in the DP added a sentiment from a retired SU set called "Hello Spring". It was inked in basic grey. Added another small piece of the DP backed with the Wisteria Wonder and finished it off with 3 purple rhinestones. For the inside I used the negative piece of the diecut - adhered it to a piece of the blue that I had cut out the centre of so when I stuck it down, the Wisteria Wonder would show through.

Dinosaur Frolic

Isn't April flying by? It's only another 12 days now before Mum and I go off to Tasmania for a week. Have been thinking about what clothes to take etc. I added a new thick cardigan with a hood and toggle buttons to my purchases today. Last time I went to Tassie I ended up having to buy a jacket it was so cold, so this time I am going to be more prepared and have something that I actually really like instead of buying something cheap and getting rid of it when I got home.
I had a visit with the minister from church today as I am transferring my church membership from our old church to the one I have been attending for nearly two years. All I have to do is say that I want to do this and they take care of the protocol details and I'm accepted into membership next month.
I caught up this morning with a couple of friends for coffee, grabbed some bones for the dogs at the butchers and then back home to do some housework. I popped out again with a friend to look for a coat for her and possibly for me but as I mentioned I bought a cardigan and she didn't find a coat. My problem is that I'm short and things are just too long in the sleeve for me and she couldn't find one that would do up. They seem to be making things smaller than the size that is on the label.
Hubby was really late home so I grabbed some take-away food and he ended up with leftovers from last night and some soup. Our son was also very late home so he bought take-away too. Our eldest daughter and her fiancee called in and I got to see her engagement ring. It is lovely. Lots of talk about engagement party and wedding details.
Anyway, I didn't sit down to craft until about 10.30 p.m. and this is what I ended up with.
The basecard is SU Pacific Point, the stripey DP is from a mini pack of papers by Merci called "Boys". The image is a digi from Meljen's Designs and I cut it out with a Nestie Die, coloured with Copic Markers and then adhered to a piece of SU Certainly Celery and trimmed. The sentiment is from a Kanban set of animal stamps and sentiments. I haven't done the inside yet but will do and then come back and put a pic on later. (if I remember, LOL)

Carte Postale

Hello again, another quiet day at home. I went out to check the mail today and just happened to glance to the left and caught a flash of white in the neighbour's front yard. I had a longer look and saw it was my son's dog. Somehow the little scallywag had got out of our yard. Our two dogs were still in the yard. I rang my DIL to find out if she was going to come and get her and she said it would be after lunch. She arrived around about 4 p.m. just as a tow truck arrived with a damaged car that our youngest son has just bought turned up. By that time, I worked out where the dog had got out. She is only a little thing and my small dog is still bigger but I'm sure if she dug the ground she too could get out. Well, I shoved an empty pot there for now and will have to get hubby to do something a bit more permanent later on.
Here is my card for today.
I've used SU Early Espresso for the card base. The DP is from a mini stack by DCWV. I diecut a piece of Kraft with a Nellie Snellen die and then stamped my image onto white card with Early Espresso ink, trimmed it to fit inside the diecut and sponged the edges before adhering it to the diecut. I added two strips of the early espresso and popped the image up with foam dots. The inside has a layer of Kraft and two strips of the brown to match the front.

Charmed

Hello again, I made up for my failed clothes shopping day on Monday by finding a couple of t-shirts and a couple of long sleeved tops to take on my holiday later this month. I've had to get rid of quite a few of my favourite clothes as they are now too big for me. It's the wrong time of the year now for t-shirts as the new season's clothes are all in the shops and have been for nearly two months so I was lucky to find them. LOL, couldn't find a purple one though - it's the first colour I look for!! I had to settle for a black top and a red one.
I might get an early night (for me anyway) so here is my card for today.
I've used Kraft cardstock and no papers for this one. I cut another layer of the card and ran through an embossing folder that I got free with a magazine - it has little cameo images and dots all over. I added two pieces of white floral lace and then stamped the image in SU Early Espresso onto a deckled oval die cut. I left the image uncoloured. The stamps are from Hampton Art - Graphic 45, Key to My Heart. I stamped the key onto a scrap of Kraft card and cut it out and added a little heart shaped lock. The inside has another embossed piece with an oval on the top and I diecut the little rose from a scrap of white. I decided not to add any colour here either. The scans have not come up quite the right shade again and the inside looks like a different colour but it's not.

Pink Roses

Hello, hope you have all had a good day. I went off this morning to a craft shop to pick up some copies of the Do Craft Magazine for myself and another couple of friends. I went with a friend and we stopped on the way home and had a coffee and a chat. The weather was reasonable so got some of the pile of washing done. Hubby went off to work early this morning and didn't get home till after 6 p.m. A very long, tiring, physical day for him and he was fairly sore and very tired when he got home. I would have thought his bosses could have given him a job driving a crane instead of having him do physical work - those ribs and shoulder blade probably need at least another couple of weeks of healing!
I went off to choir practise tonight and when I came home, he was already asleep and snoring, LOL.
I watched a bit of tv and finished off my card to share today, so here is what I did.
I used SU Night of Navy and one of my Nesties to diecut a cardbase. I also cut one in the DP and then adhered it to a piece of white card and trimmed around it before attatching it to the card base. The image I used is from Flonz Stamps, inked in Basic Grey and coloured with Copic Markers. I really like this image and have used it before on one of my earlier posts. I used a circle nestie to cut the image out and then cut a scallop circle out of the Night of Navy. The sentiment is from SU Curly Cute - inked in Cherry Cobbler and trimmed. I backed it with more of the Navy card and trimmed again. I diecut 2 more shapes, one in white and the other in the DP for the inside of the card.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A Favourite Teddy

Well Easter is just about over and all the family are back from their short holidays.
The neighbours are back home and I have given their key back and won't have to go out calling cats and trying to get them inside. I had no luck with one cat and he had to stay out every night. I still have one extra dog and not sure when they will come and pick her up as my son will go back to work. It is school holidays so maybe my DIL will come down sometime tomorrow. Adrian is going to go back to work tomorrow, I'm not sure how he will go as I don't think he is up to too much physical labour yet and he can't afford to break those ribs a third time! Hopefully they will give him a driving job that doesn't require too much extra work.
It's been quite cold on and off again today. Our youngest daughter came over with an old friend and we went to Harbour Town, a big shopping area near the airport that has a lot of clearance outlets and different shops. My daughter's boyfriend met us there. It was so busy it was really difficult to find a park. I bought a purse for my eldest daughter for her birthday later in the year and tried on a dress that was massively reduced. I liked it except the top was different colours than the rest of the dress and it was dark on one side and a very light colour on the other and I thought the light bit was not quite right on me. Looked at myself in the mirror for a while and decided "No" I tried on another dress that I liked but once on both my daughter and I didn't like the colour on me, so, LOL, no luck in the clothes department. I did get a hint from a shop assistant on an on-line shop which have several lovely lacy dresses that I liked and I might get one to wear for my daughter's wedding in November.
Anyway will get on and share today's card.
I've used SU Chocolate Chip card and made a side folded cardbase. I then used a layer of SU Garden Green card and layered two different DPs from "Totally Girl" by My Mind's Eye. The floral card has quite a distressed look to it, so "No" I didn't drop any ink on the bit on the inside, LOL, that is just how it looks! I cut a deckled oval in pale yellow cardstock from stash and layered it onto a piece of the garden green and trimmed around it. The sentiment was stamped in SU Early Espresso ink and is from SU clear mount set "Friendly Phrases". The bear is from a retired SU set called "Bow Bear" and was stamped in Early Espresso and coloured with Copic Markers. I punched some daisy flowers in two different sizes and sponged with the brown ink and added a small light purple circle in the middle of them. The inside of the card has a piece of the garden green and then a layer of the pale yellow and a small scrap of the brown floral DP to finish it off.

Favourite Colour Combo!

Hello again, it's been a funny day today weather wise. I have the fire going tonight as it has turned quite cold and we've had rain on and off all day. When I arrived at church this morning it was raining and I got a bit wet walking from the car to the church hall and then I wasn't sure I had locked the car so had to go back again and of course, the rain came down harder so my cardigan was quite damp. Some sunshine during the rest of the day and then some heavy showers again tonight.
It's late again so I won't chit chat, LOL, but get on with sharing my card.
I've used SU Elegant Eggplant for the basecard and then a layer of SU Wisteria Wonder. I embossed the Wisteria piece with a script cuttlebug embossing folder. The DP is a scrap from stash and the stamped image is from SU set "Soft Summer"I inked it in Basic Brown and then stamped again onto some of the scrap DP and coloured with Copic Markers. I cut out the flowers from the scrap piece and paper pieced on top of the original image. I added a sentiment from SU Petite Pairs stamp set and then also decorated the inside with just a piece of the Wisteria Wonder and a cut out flower.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

A Pink Flower for You

Hi everyone, welcome to my blog today. I hope you are having a relaxing Easter break.
I had a very quiet day today, caught up on some more of the episodes from the Bones series that a friend lent me. I'm onto the second series now. I did several loads of washing. It wasn't very warm so it took most of the day to dry. I also spent some time crafting and then this evening, my daughter came over and we drove over and picked up my Mum and went out to a hotel for a meal. Then back to Mum's for a chat and to try out a couple of her cone cup cakes. You make the cupcake in a small flat bottomed icecream cone and ice them so they look like icecreams. Very tasty. She made a big batch of them so she could take them down to the staff at the Nursing Home. I had to get petrol for the car on the way home and I was lucky enough to have an 8 cent off per litre discount voucher, so I filled the tank right up. My daughter has to work tomorrow so she left straight away and I fed the 4 dogs. I didn't have to feed the neighbour's cats tonight. I went over this morning and let one cat out and fed him and the other one that I couldn't get into the house last night was there but he took off again, so I just left his food in the bowl. I presume he came and ate it. He is not a very friendly cat!!!
Well onto my card,
The basecard is SU Wisteria Wonder and then a layer of pale green card from stash. The DP is from My Mind's Eye. I cut a section off the front of the card and then used a lattice punch on the edge. I made the topper using a free digi from Lili of the Valley. I got several free with a magazine. I coloured the little girl with Copic Markers and used a blue marker to outline the image. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs and I used 2 different sized circle punch and a scallop punch. I decorated the inside to match and made the inside white section to sit behind the front one so you can't see it from the front.

Bike Ride

Hello again, hope you are enjoying Easter. I started my day off with attending Good Friday church services and singing in the choir. It was a good service reminding us of what Jesus did for us. I stayed for morning tea and had some hot cross buns, YUMMY! I drove back home to find my son and DIL had been and dropped off their dog, so now there are 4 of them. One of the dogs is deaf so when she barks you can't just call out for her to quieten down, you have to go out and get her attention and then I suppose she probably doesn't really know what the fuss is about with me shaking my finger at her. I went off tonight to feed the neighbour's cats and put them inside. One was already inside and I couldn't find the other one. I went back later and the second cat did come, but when I tried to pick him up to take him inside he ran away and wouldn't come back. He is going to have to stay out tonight so hopefully nothing happens to him.
I dragged some of my craft stuff back out of my room and onto my dining room table again so I could sit and make a card for today.
Here it is.
I've used SU Certainly Celery for the basecard. The DP is two separate sheets from a mini pack of A5 papers by Rosie's Studio called "Retro Revolution". The image is from Digi Darla and was coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out with a nestie die and backed with some of the Certainly Celery. I decorated the inside with just one of the DP's and cut another white nestie. I've not put a sentiment on it as I thought it could be used for several different occasions

Tissue box and secret box

Easter wishes to all visiting today, hope you all have a blessed Easter. It's been a long day. I didn't do a huge amount, but got the dishes done. Yesterday I had a problem with the car and my son knows someone who works at Holdens and he offered to look at it for him so he pinched my car for about an hour. It has been coming up quite often that the stability control is off and then yesterday it flashed up check engine and stayed on all the way home. I was a bit anxious about driving it through all the heavy traffic to get back home. My son's friend said the car is okay but it is a glitch in the computer so deleted them so that it stopped appearing on the dashboard and also found that there is a wire upgrade available for the car so that should be done too. It was a relief to know that there is nothing major wrong with the car. I spent the afternoon clearing all my craft bits and pieces from the dining room table/room as the whole family were coming for tea. Roast pork and all the trimmings and hot cross buns to follow. We have a very small cottage about 100 miles away in a country town left to us by my husband's Mum and we used to go quite regularly for weekends up there, better in the winter and you can have a campfire in the back yard and sit around talking or cooking out there. Well most of the family are going to be there for various parts of Easter so my youngest daughter thought we should get together today so we could all be here. I am staying home as I will be singing in the choir at church tomorrow for the Good Friday service and then again on Easter Sunday. I am also now looking after our two dogs and my eldest son's dog as they have gone camping and then maybe tomorrow I get another son's dog as well. The neighbours are going away tomorrow as well and have two cats that I am now feeding and letting in and out of the house twice a day.
I have had no time to craft so I'm going to share some pics of the tissue box cover and the little secret box I made. One tissue box is pale blue with white trim and the other is all white - both are embossed. I've also included two pictures from my son and new DIL's wedding.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take care and have a happy and safe Easter.
Sandy

Wooly Bear

Welcome again to those revisiting and if you are here for the first time, please have a look around and I hope you find something here to interest you. I was up about 6 a.m. this morning after going to bed late last night and not sleeping well for some reason. I think I only got 3 hours sleep. I went and helped out a friend at a Community Living Week at the school she works at today. I left home before 8 a.m. to make sure I got there before 9 p.m. They taught a group of 45 students various craft activities and I helped them how to paint an artist canvas and put a decorative serviette on it and seal them and also helped out with showing them how to turn the ends of wire to hold the beads on the suncatchers they were making as well as a couple of other craft projects. One of the other ladies had them making cupcakes and a small round cake and decorating them. They all looked pretty tempting.
Well, I better get on and share this card with you and get off to bed.
I made the basecard with SU Tempting Turquoise. I used a small scrap of dotty paper on the bottom of the card and then layered a rectangular piece of blue card from stash on top. I rounded the top two corners of this piece and added a blue and white striped ribbon on the bottom of it before I stuck it to the card. The sentiment is from SU set Happiest Birthday Wishes and inked in Basic Black. The image is from a Kanban clear stamp set called, "Wooly Bears - Isobel" I stamped it and fussy cut it out after colouring with Copic Markers. I adhered it to a white circle diecut and then decorated the inside of my card with the light blue, a piece of DP layered onto a piece of the Tempting Turquoise. The sentiment on the inside is from the same set as the bear.

GR8 GUY

Welcome again to my little piece of blogdom!! Hope you have been having a good day and found some time to devote to this very addictive world of cardmaking!
I started my day off enjoying my friend, Shirley's class where we made 3 lovely cards, playing with stamps, paper, pencils, copic markers and some embellishments. A fun morning with friends. I and two other friends had lunch together. One friend, Helen has been staying in Adelaide for the past 3 months visiting her mother and trying to help her sister as her Mum had a stroke and had to go into a nursing home. She and her husband will be travelling back to Queensland in two days so she met us at the little cafe where we had lunch and we caught up for the last time. She is actually an old school mate of my friend, Fran and I only met her 3 months ago but have really enjoyed getting to know her.
I went back to choir practice tonight after taking a leave of absence. We are doing some mixed music for an upcoming concert which includes a medley from Phantom of the Opera, one of my favourite musicals. It was a good practice.
Well, that meant a late start on today's card, but finally got the mojo going and here is what I came up with.
The basecard is SU Early Espresso. The two pieces of DP are from My Mind's Eye pack called "Complete Boy" The image I used is a digi from Just Inklined and was coloured with Copic Markers and fussy cut out. I used a ticket punch to cut out the white bit of the sentiment and then layered it onto a scrap of Early Espresso and trimmed. I also put a piece in the middle and stamped the sentiment from Kanban stamp set Retro Cars in SU Cherry Cobbler ink onto white card, trimmed and adhered in the middle. The inside has a layer of the striped DP and then a rectangle of Early Espresso, a piece of the dotty DP and another piece of Early Espresso and a piece of SU Crumb Cake.

Fairy holding a Butterfly

Hello everyone, a strange day here weather-wise. We had sunshine and then it pelted down with rain and then cleared up and got quite hot again. Our son and his new wife popped in to say hello and hubby gave them some photos that he had taken at the wedding and had printed off today. Our oldest son also stopped by on his way home to drop off some keys and he went off home with a few photos of his daughter at her school's Sport's Day. I watched another disc of the first series of Bones. I borrowed them from a friend and there are 6 series and I am not sure how many discs in a box but there are several episodes on each one to watch.
I managed to sit down at the computer and spent about two hours going to blogs on my list so I could do some commenting. I don't know how people manage to fit them all in. Sorry if I didn't get to yours.
My card for today is made with SU Tempting Turquoise, a layer of floral DP from my stash. The image is from Digi Darla and coloured with Copic Markers, I added a small pearl to the flower in her hair. I fussy cut her out and adhered her to a white circle diecut and then onto a nestie diecut made with the tempting turquoise. I used a scrap of yellow to cut the oval out for the SU sentiment (from the set Short and Sweet) inked in Basic Black and then adhered it to a turquoise scallop. The oval and scallop were made with punches. I decorated the inside of the card with DP and then a rectangle made of the turquoise and another one from white card. I added some punched flowers.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays - PTT#61 - Anything Goes
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Challenge # 39 "Anything Goes"
Make It Monday - Challenge #83 - Anything Goes
Well that's enough for today, hope you all had a good day,

Take time to smell the flowers

The weekend has gone again and we have started a new month as well. Our son and DIL got home tonight from their honeymoon, but haven't seen them at all as they came home from the airport and more or less straight out for a concert that they already had tickets for!! Katie's Mum brought us over some photos today and also a data stick with a lot of photos on as well so we can choose what to print for ourselves.
We went to church this morning and I was pottering around the house before we left, having breakfast, doing the dishes and then having a shower. My hubby got himself ready and disappeared. I found him sitting in the car about an hour too early to leave. He had forgotten about the daylight saving finished and didn't realise the two clocks were at the old time. My tooth is getting a bit better each day but there is still an ache there.
My oldest daughter came over for a while to talk about wedding invitations and we found some diamante things on e-bay to use on her cards and as they were buy now, snapped them up. I hope they are blingy enough as you really can't tell from the photo. Now we need lace, quite a bit so will be on the lookout for some wide scalloped lace as well as some royal blue satin ribbon.
Onto my card!!!
I've used Su Wisteria Wonder for the basecard, then a layer of SU Soft Suede. I've used 2 different dotty DPs from My Mind's Eye, layering the strip with a backing of the Wisteria Wonder. I cut a nestie shape from a scrap of Soft Suede and printed this cute digi from Digi Darla onto white card and used another shaped die to cut it out. I coloured with Copic Markers and added a vertical "Happy Birthday" in black ink. The inside has a layer of the Soft Suede and a piece of the tan coloured dotty DP and a white scalloped oval die cut.
