Rock Star

Well, I'm back from Tassie. We had a rocky start to our holiday, but after the first day, Mum and I enjoyed our break away from home. We saw lots of the beautiful coastline and quite a bit of the countryside too. Last Wednesday, I didn't go to bed until about 2 a.m. (Tuesday night) and then had to be up about 4 a.m. to get showered and dressed. My DIL was kind enough to come and pick us up at 4.30 a.m. and drive Mum and I to the airport. We were a little bit early but got ourselves booked in and our luggage carted off. We then sat down to wait till boarding. We waited and waited and finally boarded nearly an 1 1/2 hours after our scheduled departure time! We missed our connecting flight and had to wait nearly 2 1/2 hours before the next flight  to Hobart. We arrived and got our luggage and headed to the car rental area. I had booked a car when I made our reservations. Well, they didn't have our flight number written down and they only keep the cars for 2 hours so we had lost the car we booked. Thankfully they managed to find one for us - a little bit larger than the original one which was good. I liked it better because we could actually fit our cases in the back instead of the back seat like last year. We then travelled 3 hours to where we had booked our first lot of accomodation, we had to stop on the way because I felt so tired I was having trouble keeping my eyes open. A coffee and a piece of cake remedied that. It was an interesting shop with lots of unusual products for sale, including organic fruit and vegies, oils and even soap made from goat's milk! The building was originally a brewery back in the 1800's.
We finally arrived at the cabin and after getting our luggage in and thinking about food, we discovered they hadn't made up the single bed and poor Mum slept wrapped up in several blankets overnight. They just presume because there are two people that you are a couple and just made up the double bed. We remedied the bedding problem in the morning.
I did find a lovely craft shop to browse in while we were there and managed to spend a bit of money there too!
The shop was even painted purple, LOL, my favourite colour. I didn't buy any 12 x 12 papers as I thought they would be ruined by the time I got home but did manage to find a mini stack that was reduced and that travelled very well in my suitcase!
I had better get on and share my card with you  so I can go and get some sleep. I hope to catch up with some of your blogs later in the week.
Here is what I have used today.
Basecard is SU Basic Black and then I cut a piece of white cardstock and embossed with a Tim Holtz embossing folder. The guitar stamp and words are from a set called "Rock On" by Technique Tuesday ( one of my new purchases) I stamped the guitar twice and adhered together leaving the little tuning pieces off on the top one to give a bit of depth and adhered with foam dots to the card. The words were stamped and then cut out with a Nestie die. I drew around the outside with a white gel pen onto black card and cut out by hand to make a backing for the white diecut.. I also decorated the inside white piece of card with another set of stamps by HOTP called "Just a Note" (also one of the new purchases!!!)  I added a touch of colour to the guitar with a red gelly roll pen. These pens have a glittery sheen to them.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
