Volkswagon Mini? or British Leyland Mini

Brrr!!!! Another cold day here in Adelaide. I spent the morning pottering around home and doing a load of washing. I didn't bother to hang it outside as it looked really dreary with some grey clouds and as I was going off for the afternoon to my usual Saturday get together with friends for craft I didn't want to leave them outside in case it rained. They are on the clothes rack in the back room... still wet but the fire is on and they may dry overnight if I'm lucky.
We all had a fun time catching up and chatting and eating as usual!!!!  Most of the girls are making food covers from netting and beading the edges. I wasn't all that keen to do one, so just took my card bits and pieces with me and did some colouring in of images to use later on.
My teeth are still giving me problems and I have the weekend to get through before my dentist appointment on Monday. I would really like to get them sorted out as it's been over a month since the last appointment. I hope I don't have to wait another month for the next one. He seems to be booked solid so there must be lots of people on his books with major teeth issues!!!!  I've been having ear ache on the same side which must be caused by the teeth as it comes and goes with the pain in my mouth.
Anyway, if I keep myself occupied it doesn't worry me as much, so thank goodness for friends and activities to occupy my hands and brain, LOL.
Here is the card I would like to share today.
Another male card, Wow, that's 3 in a row - very unusual for me.
I've used SU Real Red for the basecard and then a strip of DP from a mini stack by We R Memory Keepers called Travel light - a freebie with a magazine. The car is from a Kanban set called Retro Cars and was stamped in SU Basic Black and then coloured with Copic Markers. I used a circle nestie die to cut a circle out in a cream coloured card from stash and then stamped a map image from a clear set of stamps called "happy travels" by Glitz in SU Early Espresso. I inked the edge as well with the same ink. I added a small strip of aqua coloured textured card from stash. The sentiment was stamped in SU Basic Brown and is from a set by Hampton Art - Clear Expressions - All Occasion..I decorated the inside with the cream card and a small strip of the DP and also a smaller strip of the aqua coloured card.
(edited post - I looked up some car images and maybe this is a British Leyland. The other car images in the set were a scooter, a Volkswagon beetle and a Volkswagon Combivan ~ so I just presumed it was a sporty model Volkswagon Mini Cooper.)
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday  - Challenge #87
Celebrate the Occassion - Challenge #61 ~ Male Birthday, must use a circle.
Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog -  Challenge #53 ~ Anything goes
Mishelflo's Monthly Challenge -  Celebration

Well that's it for me, thanks to all who have left me comments and for stopping by to look.
Take Care,
Sandy

  1. Lovely card Sandy. It's just like my first car but mine was brown. Think it's a British Leyland rather than Volkswagon. Love the map feature in the centre.

Sorry to hear your having tooth problems, there's nothing worse than toothache. I hope you get it sorted soon.

It's cold here today too, in fact last night was below zero which is strange for May.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, hopefully without too much pain xx
