Young Boy Fishing

Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. A very quiet day for me today, normally have craft in the afternoon but my friend Judy (we meet at her house) has gone interstate for a family function so we have skipped a week. Well, the last few days have sped past and it's our son's wedding tomorrow. Everything is organised and we just have to turn up now. It's going to be a beautiful day weather wise and that's great as it is an outdoor wedding. I have a hair appointment tomorrow morning and then most of the family are coming here to either get dressed or car pool up to the park. The youngest son is helping to set up some chairs and the table for signing the register and then I think my new DIL's brother will come and stay there so he can come home and get ready.
I found some time this evening to sit down and craft and here is what I came up with.
I've used a nestie shape to cut my card base and kept the card fairly simple, not using any DP at all. The basecard is SU Island Indigo, (I cut an extra shape in the Island Indigo and put on the front, so I had the full shape) and then a layer of Peach Parfait and another different shaped nestie cut in white. The little image is from a clear set of stamps by Flonz and was coloured with Copic Markers. I already had the sentiment stamped and in the box with my finished coloured images. I am fairly sure it was a set from Kaszass stamps and inked in Pumpkin Pie.
I decorated the inside just using two nesties - one in Peach Parfait and the other white.

Hello everyone,
I would like to welcome another follower, Elaine, hope you pop in from time to time and find something here to interest you.
We had our youngest granddaughter here today which was nice. We had a fairly quiet day at home and then out for tea in the markets in the city. Chinese food tonight, and then went to a small cafe for coffee before coming home. I haven't really had any time for crafting so I am going to share a card that I have previously made and not put on the blog yet.
Here it is:
The basecard is blue card from stash and then a layer of cream. I made the 3D picture using multiple images and added a sentiment on some punched ovals. Sorry just a short post, need to go to bed and rest this back. My daughter gave me a massage which has helped a little bit but still not good.

Little Birds all in a Row

Hi everyone, I would like to welcome new follower Shannah. Hope you find something to interest you.
I woke up this morning after having a very restless sleep and my back is still pretty sore. Our minister friend, who is performing the wedding ceremony on Sunday was supposed to arrive at about 12 noon. He rang to tell us he had missed his flight due to road delays, it took them nearly 2 hours to travel 10km!!! He had to come on a much later flight and was then supposed to arrive at 6.45 p.m. Off to the airport we went. I drove and dropped Adrian at the arrivals to go and wait for the plane to land, we were about 20 mins or more early and I drove out to Ikea and parked in their carpark. Hubby rang me probably about 15 mins later and said the plane had been delayed and wasn't arriving now until 7.25. It was a very long wait in the car and I was in pain sitting in one position for so long. I did get out of the car for a short while but felt a bit self conscious just loitering around as by this time I had moved into a side street because there was a security guard wandering around Ikea's carpark and I saw him take down a car number. Finally hubby rang about 7.3o ish to say come and get them and then we headed home. We had planned a meal out at 6.30 with family and some mutual friends, but had to cancel, I then booked for 7.30 and then cancelled that one as well. We eventually made it and took pot luck at getting a table. My son, his fiancee and his best man turned up just after we had ordered and joined us and then some friends also popped in as they were two of the original party. Well, we had a nice meal and then back here for him to settle in, listened to the cricket, watched some tv and then Darrell and my hubby looked up some cars on the computer.
I'm tired!! Oh, I did go out early this morning and had my first ever acrylic nails put on. I have very flimsy nails and can never grow them. So this is different for me!
The card I am sharing is a very simple one using some DP as the image and two stamps for the sentiment.
Basecard is Wild Wasabi from SU, I can't remember the name of the DP - I used two different SU sets - Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I think it is Heard from the Heart.
They were both inked in basic black.

Embroidered Panel

A quick post, I seem to be in the wars lately, I've pulled a muscle or something in my back again. I must have a bit of a weakness there now as I've done this at least 4 or 5 times over the last year. I woke up with a slight twinge, but after doing some more housework, washing the sheets on the spare bed and remaking it, I was in a fair bit of pain.
I had already decided not to go to craft (had too much to do at home), I did tell one of the ladies yesterday, but she didn't pass on the message so an hour after class should have started I got a phone call from another friend to see if I was alright. I was supposed to be showing them how to make a picture using a serviette. Oh well, there is always next week.
My future DIL asked me about a week ago if I wanted to come with her when she went down to the reception venue. Her mum, one of the bridesmaids, her brother (who wasn't supposed to be there) and myself all went down. We took her decorations for the tables, the jars for the lollies and little organza bags etc down and she paid for it all. Things have certainly gone up since our oldest son got married 9 years ago, the price was just over double of what they paid.
I wanted to thank Shirley for choosing one of my cards for her POW from last week's Make It Monday linky party and also to Michelle for featuring yesterdays card on her Pink Paper Paradise facebook page today.
Anyway, here is my card for today.
Another example of my paper embroidery work. It is one of my favourite techniques and I haven't been doing much of it lately. I'm thinking of doing it on Fridays at class instead of taking stamping/colouring work to do.
The basecard is a bright orange card from stash and I embroidered the pattern with blue and orange metallic threads. I used a border punch and also put a line of gold border sticker down each side. I haven't decorated the inside yet. Haven't quite decided what to put inside.

Hi, hope you have all enjoyed your day. Mine has been a reasonable one. Started off throwing another pesky load of clothes in the machine and putting on before I left home. I picked up my friend and we went off to take a class with Shirley. I had a bit of an off day messing up one of the cards and getting myself upset over it. I didn't sleep well and am just a bit tense at the moment. Silly me, after all it was only a card! After class we stopped and had some lunch at a little cafe and then I dropped Fran home. Was only home long enough to put on some more washing, wash my OH's two pair of dress trousers by hand and hang out to drip dry and Fran rang to let me know the craft shop had rung and told her there were a couple of stamps arrived that we had ordered so she picked me up and we went up to get them. Home again to do some more house work. I also looked through a couple of bags of music someone had given me and chose quite a few to keep, then went through them again and thought they would probably end up just cluttering the place up and ended up only keeping two pieces! Now I just need to pass them on to another friend and she can deal with them. I am slowly decluttering the dining room table and putting it back in the craft room. It's another day closer to the wedding! and our minister arrives on Thursday, still have to get the room ready for him to stay in. He's a friend and lives interstate and was happy to come back to perform the wedding ceremony for our son.
Well enough chatter and onto sharing my card for today.

The basecard is SU Certainly Celery, the DP is from My Mind's Eye. The image is from Phindys Place and is called Connection. I coloured it with Copic Markers and then used a Tombo Marker to ink the sentiment from Hero Arts. I also did the inside of my card with the DP and a white nestie which I layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery and trimmed around it.

Hanging on to say Happy Birthday

Hello again, another lovely day today, and got some more washing out on the line. I went out with a friend and called in to get some more strips for my blood sugar monitor. They've changed the box and now they don't have to be callibrated, which is a little strip that goes into the machine with a code that applies to each box of strips. Normally you have to put that in before it will accept the strips. Our youngest daughter rang after I got home and wanted me to go to the shops with her as well. She wanted some jewellery to go with her dress for the wedding. We visited a couple of shops without success and then a couple of little stalls in the middle of the mall and finally found a necklace and some earrings. I still am not sure what I am wearing with mine. I was going to make something, but don't want to spend the time chasing up beads to match.
I watched a bit of tv again tonight which I haven't been doing much of lately and didn't sit down to craft until late as I was trying to tidy up my craft things from our dining room table, because we are having someone stay for a few days thought we might need to sit at the table to eat, LOL.
Well better get on and share this card.
I've used SU Choc Chip for the base card and then a layer of card called Kula Cream.
The DP is from My Mind's Eye and I used 3 different ones, backing each piece with the choc chip before layering onto the card. The lizard is a digi from Doodle Pantry called "Quirky Lizard" and I coloured it with Copic Markers, shaded with blue around the edge, cut around the image leaving a small border and then backed it with the coffee coloured card and trimmed again. The sentiment is made up using two stamps from two SU retired sets. The inside of the card has a piece of the coffee coloured card and I tore two pieces of the dotty paper and edged it. I used a Nestie diecut and backed it with a piece of choc chip. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp and it was inked with a Tim Holtz distress ink

Another Fairy

I had a quiet day today as I wasn't feeling well this morning so I stayed home from church. Adrian went off to a swap meet and then spent the rest of the day visiting some older friends. I think he went to about 3 places and got home about 6.30 p.m. Lucky me spent the day washing again! Still have towels and some bedding to do. We will have our friend who is a minister coming to stay from interstate on Thursday so he can perform our son's wedding on Sunday. Another couple coming down from the country will stay with us on Sunday night. Our youngest son will be housesitting for his brother while they are on their honeymoon so we will steal his bed for the night!
We watched a late movie and then I sat down to play for a while.
This is what I came up with.
Basecard is SU Lucky Limeade, DP is from stash (scan hasn't shown it well, it is a lovely textured card - choc brown with white, pale green, brown, lilac and purple dots on it), the circle was cut with a Nestie from white card (scrap pile) and the image is a freebie from the Sherlockshome called Cassidy - Fairy wings. I printed the image onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers and then cut it out. The sentiment on the front is from SU retired set Button Bear and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. On the inside I used a piece of white card from stash, I also cut another nestie circle and stamped the sentiment on in Cherry Cobbler. I sponged around the edge with Basic Brown. I used a piece of the DP and used a border punch on it.

Catching Worms

Welcome again to my blog today, if you are visiting, I hope you have found my blog interesting, to the regular followers, thanks for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments.
I would also like to welcome a couple of new followers, Beth, Rachel and Debeez. Hope you enjoy visiting my blog.
My little granddaughter went home about 1 p.m. today. My DIL and our little grandson came to pick her up. The elder granddaughter was staying with her other Mama and was being picked up after they left here. The little one was full of smiles, he is growing up quickly, 9 months now and crawling around and standing up with the aid of the lounge etc.
When they left, I quickly packed up my Cuttlebug and some dies and embossing folders and a trolley with card and all the other paraphanalia needed for cardmaking and headed for Judy's house. All of the girls finished their boxes after we downloaded the instructions (I left them home!! I've taught the secret box to 3 different lots of ladies) I should have known the measurements off by heart, LOL.
We looked through some beading books to see if there was anything we wanted to make and decided on a project to make in 2 weeks time. Next week Judy is interstate for a wedding? and then back home for one of her daughter's 30th birthdays so no craft next Saturday.
I rushed home stopping on the way back to get a cooked chicken. I quickly broke it up and made a salad platter and my OH and I went out to our daughter's boyfriend's grandma's 80th birthday party (gee that was a mouthful)
We came home late and I got stuck into making a card, I did scan the one I made for her but for some reason it cut off the sides of the card in the pic. I may put it at the end of the post. It was a fairly quick and simple card as I threw it together at the last minute in between peeling and chopping the carrot for the platter.

The base card is made with SU Poppy Parade, the DP is from a 12 x 12 pack by DCWV called: The Sweet Stack. A piece of the Poppy Parade across the middle and then I also used a piece of SU Certainly Celery and then printed this cute image from Phindy's onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers, this whole piece was distressed on the edges and then ink distressed as well. I also ink distressed the basecard edges. I popped the image piece up with foam dots.

this was the card I made for George's Grandma.

It was a black basecard (the scan has cut the edges off!) I used a piece of pink and cut a circle out with a die and then put it through an embossing folder. I stamped the sentiment onto white card and used a scallop punch to cut it. I then adhered it inside the cutout section and added 3 flowers and the number 80 which I cut using an alphabet/number die set.

Orchid 3D with paper embroidery

Another day over and we are already into March. I don't know where the time goes really, you wake up and the days just seem to fly by and it's time for bed again. Do you feel like that? Our little granddaughter is staying for a second night. We went off to craft for a couple of hours this morning and then back home for lunch and a play. She also came with my friend and I to the concert in the park tonight. We left here about 5.30 and picked up Fran and then headed up to get a close park. There was something on at the oval so a fair bit of parking was already taken and so we had to walk a little way. They usually have a barbeque put on by the Lion's club with several choices but tonight they had one of the local highschools doing a fundraiser and they only had sausages in bread, so we decided to walk over 2 streets and buy take away. The concert wasn't bad, an ensemble of 4 people playing classical music on 3 violins and 1 bass and a second act of a solo guitarist playing in between one of their breaks. A cooler night so we took jackets, scarves and a blanket and I convinced Layla to sit on my lap for the last bracket of music so we could share the blanket because she didn't want it on and I didn't want her to catch cold. We bought some glow sticks and she had fun playing with them. It went till about 9.45 p.m. and by the time we walked back to the car, dropped Fran home and drove to our place it was probably about 10 p.m. I watched a little tv after putting Layla to bed and left hubby to read her a story and turn out the light. So another long day but an enjoyable one.
For my card tonight I've decided to share an embroidered card I made a little while ago and haven't put on the blog yet. No stamping involved in this one.
I embroidered a corner pattern in a blue variegated thread and then punched slits on the side and threaded some blue and white gingham ribbon through them. I made up this lovely orchid 3D which I saved from a share on a 3D group a couple of years ago. I put this one together using silicone. The topper was adhered to a blue basecard made from stash card. The best wishes is from a gold sticker sheet

Santa Claus is coming to Town

Hi, welcome to my little piece of blogdom today. We started off the day early - getting up and doing all the things required of starting the day off well! I took my blood readings and they were ok, had breakfast and then hubby and I drove to our son and DIL's house in peak hour traffic so we could babysit the two youngest grandchildren while our DIL went off to do a training course at the older granddaughter's school. She will now be able to listen to reading, go on school excursions and help the chaplain with a lunchtime club for any children who want to do different activities, one being cardmaking. She also has to get a police check before she can do any of these things!
We asked if our granddaughter would like to come and stay a couple of days and she was happy to do that. She ended up staying with Papa from about 2.30 - 6.15 p.m. as I went with my Mum to the funeral of one of her SIL's. It was a very late funeral, starting at 4.15 p.m. and we left there at 5 p.m. after deciding not to go down for the committal and the get together afterwards. It took us over an hour to get home as the traffic was so heavy. We have the Clipsal Car Race on for the next few days and it creates utter traffic chaos! We went out for a meal with 4 friends, Mum, our little granddaughter and two of our sons. I found out that the youngest son had just had an accident on a motorbike. Several cars in front of him stopped suddenly and he was on one of the work bikes and he locked up the brakes and slid into the car in front. I think he has just scraped his arm and leg, but his foot is swollen and of course he hasn't had it looked at yet. He is a motorbike mechanic and he had ridden one of the bikes out to pick something up for the boss. He had to go off to make a statement to the police tonight and as I dropped Mum home after our meal out, I haven't seen him as he had already gone off to bed.
I spent the rest of the night on the computer trying to find some cheap flights to Tasmania for Mum and me next month. Well, we've now booked and sorted out a car and all the accommodation except for 1 night so nothing more to do really until we pack to go at the end of April.
LOL, so ends another exciting day in the life of our family. There is always something!!!

Basecard is SU Rose Red and then a layer of blue card from stash. The DP is from My Mind's Eye, Totally Girl. The image is a digi from Dulemba and was coloured with Copic Markers. I distressed the edges of the image piece and all the rose red matte.
The sentiment comes from SU Perfect Punches and inked in Certainly Celery and Real Red inks. I added some pale green ribbon with white spots and this cute little reindeer charm. The inside is a piece of the blue card and a strip of the DP.

Birthday Boy

Rain, rain, rain today! It's been good for the garden, but what a contrast to the last few days of high temps. It's not cold though still around mid 20's. We do really need the rain as we were a bit short last winter. The rain just made it a bit dicey getting my craft things in and out of the car several times today. I packed to go teach class, unpacked, repacked and then unpacked again when I got home. This is also really the only thing I hate about grocery shopping - having to handle everything about 5 times before it actually hits my own shelf or refrigerator! I can see the allure of on-line shopping.
Well, my ladies started making their tissue box covers today. One finished all the cutting, scoring and folding, embossing and cutting with a couple of dies and the ink distressing and can finish it off at home as she just has to put the panels on and glue the lid on. The other lady managed with a fair bit of help to get up to being ready to do the distressing, so not sure if I need to take inks next week or not. I finished off making the little secret box for her and she only needs to decorate that by gluing the panels she has already made onto it.
We are moving on to making a picture for the wall using an artist canvas and a serviette - very simple process but it needs to dry in between painting and putting the serviette on. I hope it will be a warm day next Wednesday!
I again had lunch out on the run with my friend Rose and then we stopped off at one of the cheap shops so she could purchase an artist's canvas for next week. I picked up a couple 12 x 12 paper packs from My Mind's Eye which were discounted by $10 each and some pretty little ribbon and fibre trims for only 99 cents. I asked one of the workers how much they were and he said $2.00 each so I bought 6 - LOL, I could have had 12 for the price that I thought I was paying.
I sat down after tea and looked up some of the challenges that are around at the moment and decided to make a card for one and then see what else it might fit.

The basecard is SU Choc Chip and then a layer of my new DP from My Mind's Eye - Complete Boy. The rectangular piece is SU Poppy Parade. The stamp was a freebie with a Creative Stamping magazine. I stamped it with SU Early Espresso ink and then coloured with Copic Markers. I matted it with a piece of choc chip and then pricked holes around the edge and stitched it by hand. I added a vertical greeting from Stamp-It called Tiny Birthday Down. To finish off I added 3 black bling to the poppy parade panel.

On the Way to School

Well it has been a much cooler day here today with a bit of rain. A welcome relief from the heat. I was at Craft with Shirley today - we made 3 lovely cards and had a fun time. Her hubby Doug came with her and after wandering around the shops a bit, came back and had a chat with some of us.
Fran, Helen and I stopped on the way home at a little cafe and had lunch. We stopped there chatting a bit longer than usual as Fran didn't have to take her Mum to any appointments today. We dropped Helen off and stopped in at Fran's Mum's place for her to do a dressing on her leg and then we popped into the shops to pick up a few groceries.
When I got home, our daughter came over on her way home from her first day at school. She is going to train as an enrolled nurse. At present she works in Aged Care, so she will work and study at the same time if she can manage it.
I sent off my e-mail requesting a leave of absence from the choir I am in and will go back after the concert is performed. I've had 3 weeks off already so according to the conductors request of missing more than two and you can't perform I decided to have a bit of a rest and stay home Tuesday nights.
The card I would like to share tonight was made using a sketch from Merry Monday Challenge Blog,
here it is....
The basecard is a top fold card using SU Pacific Point, a layer of SU Calypso Coral.
The DP is from p.i.g.g.y tales, billy goats gruff collection. Another piece of Calypso Coral with one edge punched with a scallop border punch.
I stamped the image in SU Basic Grey and then using 3 different DP paper scraps I paper pieced the jacket, pants and bag. The rest of the image was coloured using Copic Markers. The image is called Oxford and is a Mo Manning clear stamp from Stampavie. The sentiment is from TPC Studio -Brush Stroke Greetings. I also used a large circle punch to cut out the circle in Pacific Point to put behind the little boy.

New York Style

Hello - hope you've all had a good day and managed some time to create something today. I got up early and then went back to bed for about an hour. Mum came over and we went looking for some ink for her printer. She has the model that I used to have so I had some inks left over still in the packaging and had been not sure what to do with them so they won't be wasted now. We picked up a few groceries and then Mum left and I did another load of washing and hung out. Hubby was kind enough to hang the first lot out while we were out.
I managed to find a bit of time to visit some of your blogs and then after tea I folded some clothes and then sat down to see what I could come up with. I found a few images that my friend Shirley let me stamp a while back. I have since bought the stamp because I liked it so much.
So here it is:
The basecard is SU Rich Razzleberry. I added another slightly smaller piece (so I could attach the ribbon) and then a layer of SU Concord Crush. The image was stamped onto white card from stash and then coloured with Copic Markers. It is from Stamps Happen Inc. and is called New York Socialite. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Seedless Preserves and added a sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments inked in Basic Black and also distressed. I added some lace and a bow and some pearls as well.
The inside of the card has a piece of Concord Crush and then a topnote diecut in white with the edges distressed and the sentiment I used is from Hero Arts called Fabulous Birthday.

Get Well Soon

Hi everyone, it's two more weeks today till our son's wedding and it's been another warm day but not as bad as yesterday. We even had a few drops of rain around about
5 p.m. although it dried up quickly. I haven't done much today. I went off to church this morning and it was family service so the choir didn't sing so got to sit in the congregation for the whole service. Home again, made some lunch and then had a bit of a nap, always feel horrible after sleeping during the day, but I was tired. Our daughter and her boyfriend came over to wish our dog a Happy Birthday, her dog and mine are sisters so Monica came as well to see her sister, LOL. Missy is now 6 years old.
Well, you know me, another late night, so here is my card to share,
The basecard is SU Wisteria Wonder and the DP is from My Mind's Eye. I adhered the DP to panels of SU Very Vanilla. The diecut is from a Nellie Snellen die and also cut in Very Vanilla. The image is from Phindy's Place and I coloured it with Copic Markers. To finish off I added 3 flowers and a button with a bit of linen crochet thread through it. I haven't done the inside yet.

Girl on a Fence

Hi everyone! It has been 41C today... I am in meltdown!!! I rushed around this morning still trying to find a dress to wear to future DIL's Hen's night tonight. I had no luck in the shops, the new season clothes are already in swing and there is very limited summer stock. I tried another place on the way home and then thought I would call into the Op shop and look at the second hand clothes. Yep, I found two dresses, but nearly melted trying them on in the non air-conditioned shop. I came home and washed them and drip dried them, LOL, with the heat it didn't take long. Our eldest daughter came over about 2 p.m. and then the youngest one and we spent until about 5.30 trying out ways to put our hair up. The oldest one is into watching You Tube videos on hair styling and so that's what we did and they turned out okay. She did mine and her sisters and then we ran out of time to do hers, so she just straightened hers and left it down. We had a good time out, having part of the bar to our selves - they had a few games and a meal together and then around 10 p.m we walked down to another place and had a drink. We left them there around 11 p.m. and then waited to get picked up. Probably got home around about 11.30ish - said goodbye to our daughters and our DIL (she got dropped off at our place about 6.20 p.m. and came with us into town) and then rushed around trying to get a card done.
So here it is,
The basecard is one of the SU Blues and then matted with a slightly darker blue. I cut a large scallop with a nestie die in SU Real Red card and then a piece of embossed metallic paper and then these cute images which again were from a swap. I don't know the name of the stamps. I coloured them in with watercolour paints. I stamped the sentiment in SU Basic Black ink onto white card and then mounted it onto a piece of the blue and popped it up on foam dots. I also decorated the inside with a piece of white card and stamped the sentiment from SU Curly Cute onto white card, mounted onto the blue and adhered straight onto the white piece.

Wow, it was a scorcher today. I went off to craft this morning and they had the overhead fans on and the flick of light they create gives me a headache and makes me feel a bit off, so I kept my head down and just got on with making that box up for the lady in my Wednesday class. I've decided she must have made the drawers using the wrong measurements but her card was fairly flimsy and when I pulled the drawers out it took too much card off and I had to start from scratch. Anyway, it's done and I think she will be happy to just decorate it now.
I also went to the shops this afternoon and tried on about 6 dresses. Two fit and it was hot work putting them on and off. I am sort of in between the smallest dresses in the bigger fittings and the largest or second largest dresses in the smaller fittings, so the ones I really liked the most were too small. I'm still working on it, I've lost about 26 - 27 kg now.
It is my future DIL's hen's night tomorrow and I've been invited out with them. I will probably go to the meal and see what they are up to after that! I'm not really a drinker so if they are going to pub crawl I will probably head home.
I also went off to the third concert in the park tonight with my friend, Fran. Still very warm but we got there early and set up in the shade. Latin music tonight.
Well here is the card I would like to share with you tonight.
The basecard is SU Real Red, a layer of white next and then a piece of SU Basic Black which I embossed with stipes. I used a Nestie to cut the Real Red and also the White diecut for this cute image. A freebie from Scrapper's Delights Papercrafts
I printed her onto the white card and coloured her with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs and the one on the inside is a Penny Black Stamp called ...every day. I inked them both with SU Basic Black ink. I cut the front one with an oval punch and ran the edge around on a SU Real Red inkpad.
The inside has a black piece with a white nestie diecut with the sentiment stamped on it.

Good evening and welcome. Hope you are all having a great day or night. I've been trying to find my camera charger with no luck! The camera was completely flat and I was going to take a photo of the tissue box cover that I made today so it will have to wait for another time. The girls in my little Thursday group had a fun time making these today. Since I was going to share the tissue box, I hadn't sat down to make a card and then had to rush one to get in today's post.
I've used an image that I got in a swap a few years ago. The image is a Sweet Pea Stanp and it came already coloured, so I can't claim the stunning colouring as my own!!! It's mounted onto a bit of mesh and then onto a piece of SU Cherry Cobbler. The DP is a scrap from stash and the basecard is SU Concord Crush. The flowers were also from another swap and I added some bling and used my SU bird punch to cut the leaves using another scrap from SU Wild Wasabi. I decorated the inside with a piece of white and a punched strip of Cherry Cobbler.

Let's Celebrate

Another day has flown past. A mild summer's day here in Adelaide. I went off to teach class today and we were supposed to be finishing the secret boxes we started last week. The lady that didn't finish cutting and measuring last Wednesday actually sat for most of the class and right at the end after putting the box together and sticking the little drawers in she tried to close it and it just was impossible. I am not sure what she did. Maybe cut the box short or made the drawers too big. She is fairly stressed at the moment - her hubby has health problems and has all of a sudden put their house on the market and she is having to sell furniture and get rid of things and at this stage they haven't even planned where they will end up. Poor thing didn't really get a choice about the whole issue. So I have brought her box home and I think I will have to start from scratch for her and then she can just decorate the outside of it.
Did a little bit of grocery shopping today and then had a quiet evening home. I've sorted out another of my boxes and I can actually see the end of the lounge and more of the floor space. The recycling bin is getting fuller and luckily it doesn't get picked up till Monday morning so still gives me a few more days to go through things.
Well here is my card to share tonight.
The basecard is SU Early Espresso and then a layer of SU Pink Pirouette - another layer of the brown and then SU Whisper White. I stamped the image from Fizzy Moon called "Let's Celebrate" with SU Close to Cocoa ink and then coloured with Copic Markers using a new technique colouring the bottle that involves picking up ink with the blender pen. I stamped the little hearts in the pink squares with SU Real Red and the sentiment in Close to Cocoa and then trimmed around it and mounted it with foam dots. I added little dots on the pink card as well as a few around the image.
The inside is Pink Pirouette and I stamped hearts along the edge and then onto pink card and made a few of them 3D.

Red, White & Blue

Hi and welcome to my blog. If it's your first time here, I hope you find something to interest you.
I had craft this morning with Shirley and we made 3 lovely cards. I usually go with a friend (Fran) and the last couple of weeks we have also picked up one of her friends (Helen) who is staying in Adelaide for 3 months and comes from Townsville in Queensland. Her mum had a stroke and has had to go into a nursing home so she came down to spend some time with her. Well my friend got called in to work so it was just Helen and I. We went out afterwards for lunch and I took her with me to the craft store because when I was there the other day I forgot to take my Copic Markers to get refilled. We had a good chat and she even ran into someone who has moved down here as we were leaving the cafe. I cut my thumb yesterday and decided to forgo the bandaid as the cut is on my right thumb and I couldn't get a good hold on the scissors. Had to make an emergency visit to the supermarket for bandaids when I knocked it putting my hand in my bag to get the keys out. Blood everywhere!!! This is the second bad cut in the last 2 - 3 weeks on the same thumb. The first one was a stabbing wound from a pair of scissors when I was sharpening them and has only just healed.
Here's my card,
Basecard is SU Pacific Point. I adhered a strip of white card in the middle and then I used a Couture Creations die called Paisley Border and cut it out in SU Real Red. I used a piece of white behind it and stamped the sentiment from Penny Black in Pacific Point ink. The tatty ted from Do Crafts called "Lost in Thought" was also inked in the Pacific Point. I added 3 red bling on the LH side.
The inside of the card has a piece of white and I added 3 strips of the blue and the sentiment is from SU Curly Cute inked in Pacific Point.

Three Christmas Mice

Sorry, I've been forgetful and forgot to welcome my latest follower, Sam. Thanks for joining and I hope you find something here to interest you and that you manage to pop in from time to time.
Well, it's been another hot day today and the clothes out in the laundry were calling out to be done. I started early and finished hanging out the last load about 4.30 p.m. I also washed the dishes and sorted out several boxes of craft. My lounge room is very slowly getting back to normal. I still have a folding table in the middle of the room with lots of containers overflowing and also boxes and bags on the floor. I have so many bits of paper with embroidery patterns and copies of projects etc it is going to take me forever to get them into folders. I also sorted out several boxes of beads, I need more containers, LOL. I think I should have made a New Year's Resolution not to buy any beads this year and to use up my stash. I still have another very large container with beads in but I think I will leave that until some of these other boxes are sorted.
I know, LOL. I admit it, I need help, I am a Craftaholic!!!!
Well, onto my card for today.
I decided to make a Christmas card, I think this is the second one for this month and hopefully if I keep on track I won't have to stress at the end of the year!
The basecard is SU Real Red then a layer of SU Old Olive, The two DP's are from My Mind's Eye and the second one is layered onto a red piece as is the image.
The stamp is a House Mouse one and was inked in SU Basic Grey and coloured with Copic Markers. I stamped the paisley shape in Real Red and then cut it out and tied a little silver tree charm to it. To finish it off I added 3 pieces of bling to the corners and one to the little flower in the middle of the paisley shape. I decorated the inside with a white piece and a piece of red and a piece of DP. The sentiment is from SU clear mount set Beautiful Season.

Make a Wish

It's me again and yes I am again very late tonight. My OH went out in the afternoon to visit our son and family and got home after 7p.m. so we had a late meal and then our son and future DIL popped in to bring us a little bit of the cake that they will be having for their wedding. They are going quite plain and having rainbow cake with a white icing and decorated with hession. She is also having hession around the vases. Her colour scheme is pink and brown. She likes arty decor and things a bit different.
Anyway better not chit chat, need to get some sleep tonight.
My card for today is on Quill cardstock called Musk and then I used SU Lucky Limeade and this lovely DP which is also from SU. I am not sure where the image is from. Will let you know if I find it. I can't remember if this is one I stamped or if it was a digi. I tend to stamp images off to colour later or print them off and do the same thing. Sometimes I colour them up and put into a little container for later use. I coloured her in with Copic Markers and then trimmed around her leaving a little bit of white. The sentiment on the front is from Penny Black called ...a wish and inked in SU Orchid Opulence.
I decorated the inside of the card as well with another little scrap of the DP layered onto white card. The sentiment inside the card is from SU set Happiest Birthday Wishes.

Shiver Me Timbers!

Hi everyone,Saturday is just about over and I've just finished my card.
I went out this morning with a friend to a craft shop which is about 30 minutes away. We arrived and got out of the car and then realised it was closed. The owners are Seventh Day Adventists and don't open on the Saturday but do on Sundays. To compensate for the lack of craft shopping, LOL, we went and had a coffee and then popped into Spotlight so we could buy some more foam dots. I also bought a couple of candles which were half price so I could put some stamped images on them later. My friend dropped me back home and I got myself organised to go to another friend's house for our Saturday get together. We craft together, beading, cardmaking, helping Judy with crafts to sell for charity some weeks. Today we did two totally different things, I showed the girls how to make a Secret Box, we got about half way through that and we also used serviettes to make a picture on an artist's canvas. Quite easy, you paint the canvas let it dry and then adhere the serviette with modge podge and coat the whole thing. They all turned out really well.
I came home again and our youngest daughter had come to have tea with us. We just bought a take away cooked chook and a few chips and made some salad to go with it. We watched a DVD and she showed us a couple of her text books she now has for her nursing course. She starts next week and then will be very busy with classes and work as well.
Well here is the card.
I used a blue card from stock for the basecard and then a piece of SU Wild Wasabi. Both the DP's are from My Mind's Eye. The image was from Dustin Pike (I think)
The sentiment on the front I made up and printed using the computer. The one on the inside was either one I bought or a freebie, really not sure and I don't think I wrote where it was from either. I also decorated the inside of the card using the Wild Wasabi and one of the papers.

Happy Joyful Birthday

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by today - i hope you are all looking forward to your weekend. Our granddaughter went home today. DIL, and the other two grandchildren came too so I got to have a cuddle with little Isaac as well as a hug with Amelia.
I stayed home today, I am usually out at a friend's craft group but hubby used the car and told me he would be a couple of hours so I didn't get organised and then by the time he did get home I decided it was too late to go so stayed home and did more washing, it just never seems to end!!!
A friend called me to see if I wanted to go to the free concert in the park that our local council holds every Friday night in Feb (last weeks got cancelled because of the rain). Tonight's concert was a Jazz one and next week will be Latin and then they have rescheduled the rained out one for the first week in March and that will be classical. The local Lions Charity Club put on a barbeque so we usually support that while we are there.
My card for today is a shaped card made with Nesite Scalloped Circle Die and also the plain Circle Die.
I used SU Basic Black for the base, added another scalloped black circle to cover over the little spot where the fold is and then a circle in red and another in white with the little House Mouse image stamped in Basic Black ink. The stamp is called "Mice-tro" by Stampabilities. I just coloured the face, hands and feet and the music. I also stamped it again and 3d the image. The sentiment on the front is from SU set "Small Sayings" and so is the little heart stamp.
I also put red and white circles inside with a sentiment from SU set "Whimsical Words" and again stamped 3 little hearts in SU Real Red.

Christmas Penguin

Today was another lovely summer's day and I spent it with OH and our granddaughter (did the dishes and two loads of washing while he painted her face)this morning and then she and I went to a friend's house to have a craft session. There were 5 of us today. I just coloured images, one girl did a Bunka embroidery picture and her daughter did some cross stitch, while the two others made cards, Layla played with some toys and coloured in some pictures. I made sure the face paint came off before we left home!!!
A trip out for tea with two of our sons and our future DIL, hubby went off with them shopping and I took Layla with me to choir practice. She was funny singing along while she was colouring in and when we stopped she filled in the gap between songs still singing away without even realising we were all having a smile and a bit of a giggle. So cute...
So I'm very late and better get on with posting my card,
Here it is, not sure it is quite what I wanted to achieve. I decided not to use any DP on this one.
Basecard is a bright green from stash followed by a panel of SU Real Red another layer of green. I pricked some decorative corners and added some red bling. The penguin was a freebie image and I'm not sure I saved who it was from. If I find it, I will add it later. I coloured it with Copic Markers and used a white gel pen to define the flipper as it disappeared when I coloured it. The sentiment is from the Button Bear set I previously used this week. I used a couple of different size circle punches for the sentiment and also a larger punch for behind the penguin.

Hello and welcome to my blog today. Another lovely day here but not quite so hot as yesterday. I have my youngest granddaughter staying with us today and tomorrow. She came to craft with me this morning and as it is held on a church premises they have a Sunday School room which is quite large and filled with so many toys. She has a ball! I don't see her at all for 2 hours as she is so engrossed with playing she doesn't even come out for her drink and snacks! My craft table is just outside the room so she doesn't have far to come looking for me.
I was teaching today and chose to do a little project called a secret box, we didn't manage to finish it so will have to take the cuttlebug with me again next week. One of my ladies was the co-ordinator of the group and didn't even manage to sit down long enough to do all the measuring and cutting so it will be another full lesson for her and that is if she doesn't go off wandering again.
My card for today is done in my favourite colour Purple
The basecard is SU Concord Crush and then a piece of SU Wisteria Wonder. I cut a 3cm strip of the Concord Crush and used Martha Stewart's picket fence punch and layered this over the lighter purple. The sentiment is from a retired SU set called "Happy Everything" and inked in SU Elegant Eggplant. I also used the word window punch and added some bling on the flowers and on the fence piece. The image, a digi from Pink Gem Designs called "Kaya with Flowers" was coloured with Copic Markers (skin tones, browns for the hair and lilac for the dress with a touch of red on the shoes) and I used two Nestie dies to make the circles. I used a piece of Wisteria Wonder for the inside of the card and matched it up with the front again using the picket fence border punch.

Brown, Orange and Teal

It's that time of the night again for me. I had planned to get an early night as I was feeling a bit unwell. I stayed home from choir rehearsal so I've now used up 1 of the two times we are allowed to not go before we can't be in the performance.
I went off to craft this morning after hanging out one load of washing and putting another on. Mostly Laurie's clothes from his trip. We had a good class and finished early. I'd noticed a shoe shop on the way there so I asked my friend would she mind stopping to see if there were any shoes that would be suitable to wear with my dress for my son's wedding. Yeah!!! I managed to pick up some silvery sandals with a small heel and some shiny bling on them and they had been reduced from $110 down to $39 and then another 20% off so in the end I only paid $31.50 - a real bargain. I also picked up a little glomesh handbag in black and grey with a little strap made of linked metal. So that's me set now, will have to see what hubby decides to wear.
Enough prattle and onto tonight's card,
I have used brown card for the basecard and then a layer of SU Pumpking Pie and some torn pieces of teal card (from stash) I added some blue and white twine and 3 little flags. The sentiment is from SU retired set Button Bear and I think the image is a CC Designs stamp - I stamped and coloured this one a while ago so not sure. She was coloured with Copic Markers.
The inside of the card has a layer of the Pumpkin Pie and a piece of torn teal. The little balloons are also from Button Bear set and coloured with Copics. I hand drew the black strings.

Hello again,
another full day today. I went with Mum to a specialist appointment for her Diabetes and she is doing really well after having really high readings for ages. I get to hear the advice she is given and hopefully that will help me also if I ever have to go onto insulin. We then popped in to a place called "The Shoe Shed" to have a look for some shoes for the wedding but they were either too casual or had huge skinny heels on them. I can't wear anything high! Just need something with a small heel or wedge. I then dropped her home and came back here, had a bit of lunch and then my OH and I went out to the airport to pick up our son, this time he did actually arrive!!
He showed us some pics tonight on our tv and we also had a barbeque with a few of his friends and also another one of our sons and his fiancee. It was a lovely night until the mozzies decided to put in an appearance. One of the couples had a new bubs only 3 months old but really tiny little boy, he was only 2.3kg when he was born. I got to have a cuddle with him. A really sweet little baby.
I've washed most of the dishes and then sat down for a play with my cardstock and images.
Here is what I came up with:
Base is SU Basic Black cardstock. I punched a strip of pink with a SU punch. As I was following a sketch, Merry Monday Challenge #6. (I was too late to enter the challenge though). I added a panel going across the card and then the image was stamped onto white card, coloured with ink using a blender pen (I actually coloured this one a while ago and haven't had time to dig out the stamp to see who made it) I cut it out and then adhered it to a topper of black card on a white piece. The sentiments (inside and out) are from SU Petite Pairs and inked in Basic Black. I also added a few pink bling on the bottom (not in the sketch) and also a very small bling on the cat's collar.

Adorable Mouse

Another weekend has flown by and it's another week closer to our son's wedding. They are getting more involved in all the nitty gritty of weddings and today my DIL was asking about what to do about having our hair done. The wedding is on a Sunday afternoon and not too many hairdressers open up, my son has a friend who may come and do it for us or if all us "girls" get together one of the salons might just open for say 4 adults and two children. No harm in asking!
I overslept this morning and had to do a mad dash to get to church on time. I am in the choir there and that means I need to be about 30 mins early to get robed and have a run through the song we are singing in the service.
We came home and I got ready to go with a friend to Shirley's house for cardmaking and found out through one of our son's that our youngest who we were supposed to be picking up from the airport is now not going to be home till tomorrow. I don't know what happened as he told us yesterday to pick him up today. I suppose we will find out tomorrow.
A few of the family dropped in today and our oldest son, wife and 2 of the grandchildren ended up staying for tea. Their oldest girl was over at someone's house to play and they were picking her up around 7 p.m. so we ordered pizza and they left straight from here.
Well I hope you have all had or are still having a lovely weekend wherever you are and that the weather is being kind to you. It was a beautiful day here.
Anyway here is the card I made.
I've used Black cardstock for the base and then a layer of bright pink. I cut a piece of white card and put through the Swiss Dots embossing folder in my cuttlebug. The digi image from When the Scrap Hits the Fan (a freebie) was printed onto white card and cut with a Nestie Die then coloured with Copics. I also used the Nestie to cut our a red piece to use as a matte. The sentiment is from SU set "Love & Care" inked in SU Real Red, cut out with an oval punch and then mounted onto a piece of red and cut out with a scalloped punch. I finished it off with a white ribbon with red hearts printed on it (from stash). I also did the inside very simply with a piece of white cardstock and used this heart stamp from SU "I(heart)Hearts" also inked in Real Red

Hello and I would like to welcome my 100th follower, Sandee. I checked my blog this morning and was delighted to see you Sandee, I even had a friend text me to say congratulations, LOL. Thanks Helen!!
I've just realised that those clothes and towels are still on the line, forgot to check them before I went out this afternoon. Hopefully it won't rain overnight! It is supposed to be summer here and we have had temps around 25C with overcast skies and rain.
I caught up again with my friends at craft this afternoon and actually finished the coathanger with the beaded drops and flower detail. It didn't look too bad after all the problems I had last Saturday getting it started, I've even taken a second hanger to have another go at it, LOL.
Hubby got picked up this afternoon by my daughter and her boyfriend and taken out for a while to the Glendi Festival, which is a Greek festival. I came home and took the opportunity to veg out in front of the tv and watch a movie, it finished late so we had a fairly late meal tonight.

Laurie has survived his Cambodian trip and is on his way home, he arrives about 1 p.m. tomorrow.
Here is my card that I would like to share tonight;

Basecard is SU Tangerine Tango and the DP is also from SU. I used a Nellie Snellen die to cut the blue piece and a white gel pen to make some faux stitching on it.The image is from Digi Darla, called Teresa and was printed onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers I cut it out by hand and mounted onto the diecut. I also printed it a second time and just cut out the girl to give it more depth. I used a punch to cut the circle of music/phone paper and a nestie die to cut another circle slightly bigger in the Tangerine Tango cardstock. I stamped the sentiment from Hampton Art with SU Pacific Point and then used a ticket punch. I added some lines and a few very lightly stamped postmarks using a stamp from a retired SU set called Rustic Rooster.

Flowers with Love

Hi everyone,
It's been an interesting day but a good one.
I washed this morning and hung it out on the line and then had to go to a lawyer's appointment to take Adrian and see about a personal injury claim for his accident. When we parked the car in town, it started to rain so didn't get a chance to take the clothes off and they have had to stay there as it has kept coming down most of the day and night.
A friend asked me to go to a concert in the park, a free one put on by our local council. She had seen them setting up and the weather seemed to clear a bit so we rugged up, took our folding chairs and LOL, there was not a soul there so we came back and picked up my OH and went to her place and had fish and chips for tea.
Anyway I came home and got stuck into making a card, here it is.
The basecard is called "Lipstick" from stash, the DP is from Graphics 45 - Domestic Goddess Collection, My Pretty Garden. The Nestie scalloped circle diecut is SU Pink Pirouette and the white is also a diecut. The sentiment is from SU set Well Scripted and inked in Pink Passion onto white card and mounted onto a "Garden Green" circle. The image from Penny Black set "Thinking of You" is inked in Basic Brown and coloured with Copic Markers. I added 3 black buttons as well to finish it off. I haven't as yet done the inside but will do so probably before I go to bed so I may add the pic later.

I chose the colours pink, white and green from the picture and also the colours of the watermelon. The DP I have used reminded me of the skin of the watermelon and the black buttons the seeds.

Here is the card I would like to share with you today,
Basecard is SU Concord Crush and then I used a Nestie die to cut a layer of lilac card (from stash) and a smaller white piece which I printed this delightful image of Teddy Bea - she is coloured with Copic Markers. I added a sentiment from SU Petite Pairs and inked in Basic Brown. I used punches for the sentiment.
The inside of the card also has a nestie diecut in white and I stamped 2 rows of hearts and a sentiment from Kaszazz Stamps.

Teddy Bear Love

Wow, it is so late I've missed posting on Wednesday's date, so I am going to fiddle with the post time so it shows for Wednesday.
I did finish my card in time to share but the area had a problem and we had no phone and that of course meant no internet. It's been out for about 4 hours at least.
So no chit chat just onto sharing my card,
Card base is blue card from stash, DP is from 2 different mini stack pads by Merci. The image is from Pink Gem Designs and coloured with Copic Markers, I used a cirlce nestie and also a scalloped circle nestie to cut the mattes for the image.
I've used a sketch for the layout and also decorated the inside with a piece of white card and then a layer of blue and a piece of one of the DP papers. The sentiment is from SU set Outlined Occassions and inked in Pacific Point. I used punches to stamp and mount the sentiment

Welcome! I hope you have been having a great day and found some time to dabble in a bit of relaxing cardmaking!
I had class with Shirley today and made 3 lovely cards. I had my granddaughter with me too. She is always so good to take with me. We put up a little table for her and she had some soft toys and a colouring book and pencils, a little bag of snacks and a juice and she was happy to sit there while I made cards.
Lunch out with a couple of friends and then home to see her "Papa" who wasn't home - he had walked up to the local supermarket and when he got home he was very puffed. His first time out of the house since his accident and he really isn't up to it yet. He has to work out for himself how much he can do.
Choir practice tonight, I'm not keen on the music we are doing, Haydn pieces, too many flats!!
Anyway here is my card.
The basecard is SU Real Red and the DP is from Fiskars pack of papers by Heidi Grace Designs called Bouquet Trim. I punched some hearts out and used on both the inside and outside of the card. The image is a digi from Meljen's Designs and coloured with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from a Close to Ny Heart set called "Sentiments - My Acrylix" (an e-bay find) I used a Nestie die to cut out the image and then matted onto red card and trimmed around it.

Merriest Christmas to You - Second Post for Today

LOL, I told you I would be back..... I decided I would do a Christmas card for this month a bit earlier than January's. I still want to try and do at least 1 a month. It was a lot less pressure at the end of the year. If you missed my first post for today just scroll down to take a peep.
A reasonably quiet day today, washed the dog's bedding and hung out under a threatening sky, but it has held off and not rained at all. Mum rang up to ask if I would come with her to the cemetery and cut the grass away from my step-father's plaque, so we did that and gave it a bit of a wash as well. The plaque is set into the ground not standing up, so it does get a bit dirty. Lucky Mum had a bottle of water in the car as the taps there weren't working and she needed some for the flowers and also to wash the plaque. We came back home and had a bit of lunch together before she left. Just pottered around for the rest of the afternoon sorting out another box of crafty bits and pieces and throwing away old envelopes and papers.
Well here is the card!
Basecard is SU Real Red then a layer of white. I stamped the sentiment (Penny Black - merriest) in Real Red and then put it through Divine Swirls embossing folder leaving the left hand edge unembossed. I then stamped 4 various sized strips of white card using some stamps from a Do-Crafts Christmas set and also a snowflake which comes from the same set as the Father Christmas, I'm not sure what I did with the packaging for this one so I can't tell you who made it. I used SU inks, Real Red, Certainly Celery, Basic Grey and Island Indigo. I coloured the holly images with a blender pen and ink and distressed each strip as well. I used a scallop die and a circle die from Nestabilities.

Floral Card for LIM

Hi everyone,
a quick post to share the card I made for the LIM challenge - Week 53 Colour, Aqua
I've used a flower from SU set "Love & Care" and inked with a Marvy Marker pen called Aqua Sea - stamped on a panel and then adhered this to a white cardbase. I added some embossed lines and also a sentiment (coloured with the pen) from SU set "Happiest Birthday Wishes"
I've scanned it with a darker colour behind it so it defines the edges of the card!

Miss You

Welcome to my blog. Hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend. Mine is nearly over.
I had church this morning, Adrian was not up to coming yet so I went on my own. I remembered to take my choir outfit as it was our first Sunday back singing after having January off. Our conductor organizes other people to sing for those weeks we have off. I meant to take my outfit back earlier but forgot so made sure to grab it on the way out the door. I missed Thursday night practise but the song we sang was one I knew so that was no problem. Hopefully next weeks is as well as we only practise fortnightly.
A funny day weather-wise today, warm enough to just wear a blouse (and jeans, LOL) but we had rain as well. Good, I don't have to water the garden but didn't do any washing either, yesterday was the same except I hung out two loads and brought them in wet because I was out and it rained on my way home. Adrian can't take them off with his broken shoulder blade and ribs, so there they stayed until I plucked them off!
An early post for me tonight as I've had time to sit down and craft earlier tonight.
Here's my card,
Basecard is SU Certainly Celery, a layer of SU Bashful Blue, DP is from a paper Pad called "Tiny Woods" by KaiserCraft. The stamps I used are also called "Tiny Woods" made by the same company. I coloured the two images with Copic Markers and added a bit of colour for the ground. I layered the image onto the Certainly Celery and Bashful Blue. The sentiment is from a retired SU set called "Bow Bear" and was inked with a Marvy Marker and cut out with a ticket punch and then mounted onto the green and blue again. I drew the outline of the ticket in with the brown marker as well. I used foam dots to mount it onto the card.
I also decorated the inside of the card using Bashful Blue and small strips of the DP. I added a stamped image of mushrooms from the "Tiny Woods" set and coloured with Copics, the colours didn't come out quite right as the card was blue to start with.

Royal Couple

Hi everyone,I would like to again welcome two new followers,Donna and Jennipher, wow, I am nearly at 100 followers, I started off with my friend, Shirley, who introduced me to the world of blogging and I enjoy the time I manage to find to blog and look around. Anyway, I hope you enjoy what I have to share and would love to "see" you from time to time!
I had a great day with friends at our regular Saturday get together.
This week we had a go at decorating a pre-made padded coathanger with beads. I started mine off and had problems with the thread not going through some of the smaller beads a second time, so got frustrated and chopped it off. I took a long time trying to decide what to put on there, I didn't bring enough beads with me so didn't really have what I thought I wanted. Finally got it together and got one drop of beads finished and had trouble with splitting the thread and got in a huge mess. My friend Kim tried to help and in the end still had to do some chopping again, LOL. The result was that I ended up with half the drops finished before I left and as we are continuing doing them next Saturday it might not get touched till then. By the way everyone else's coathangers had lovely beading on them.
Adrian, is starting to improve, not so much pain now and has ventured outside a bit more, spending some time out in a chair reading and also entertaining a visitor who dropped in today.
Anyway, time is marching on and I had better share my card for today.
Here it is,
Basecard is SU Early Espresso, a layer of SU Creamy Caramel and I am fairly sure the DP is SU as well (from my scrap stash) I used a sentiment from a retired SU set called Small Sayings, inked with a Marvy Marker and split into 3 lines instead of the original one, added some faux stitching as well. The King and Queen are embossed card using Tim Holtz "Poker Face Set" and sponged with SU Close to Cocoa. I coloured the hearts and clubs in with Marvy Markers - I popped the Queen on with foam dots.
The inside of the card has a piece of Creamy Caramel and a scrap of the DP. The sentiment is from SU clear set "Happiest Birthday Wishes" and I added 2 punched hearts. Voila - all finished!!

I chose not to go to craft group today and met friends Shirley and Doug over at a cafe so I could pick up an SU order and then go to a craft store afterwards to pick up several Do Crafts magazines that we order in, of course, LOL, I did buy a couple of other things.
Tonight I have chosen to make a card using this lovely image called "Psst Danni and Taylor" by Mo Manning and sold by Stampavie. I inked it in SU Basic Grey and coloured with Copic Markers. Layered onto blue card (from scrap stash) and then Wild Wasabi.
The basecard is also Wild Wasabi and then I used a Martha Stewart punch called "Garden Trellis" and a scrap of Lucky Limeade, On top of this I added a small scrap of brown card and stamped the sentiment (SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments) with SU Pacific Point. The DP is also SU and the circle is from the reverse side and cut with a Nestie Die. I popped the image onto the card with foam dots.

How are you today? I hope you have had a good day and all is well in your part of the world. I had a quiet morning at home and then joined 3 other friends for our Thursday craft group, We started off at the church I attended hoping to meet a need in the community but it just never got off the ground. The area is only five minutes from the city and I suppose a lot of people worked and those that didn't just weren't interested. I am the co-ordinator of the group and as I no longer attend that church we meet at Jane's house as she has a nice big table and LOL, air-conditioning!!! We started off with about 8 people and some of them have moved on and been replaced by a couple of others. There were 7 of us last year and now we usually have between 3-5 regulars. We always enjoy our get togethers.
I don't usually make cards during class time, but mainly stamp and colour images for later use, today I shocked the girls by finishing a whole card, LOL.
Here it is, I made it for a young couple at church who have just had a baby boy named Samuel.
I started with SU Night of Navy for the cardbase, a layer of SU Bashful blue, distressed the edges. The Dp is a scrap from stash. I then layered another scrap of a different DP onto Bashful blue and again onto Night of Navy, Both these pieces of card were distressed. I tied a strip of ribbon around this little layer and then took another length of ribbon and threaded it through the first ribbon and tied a bow, a new way of making a ribbon for me. The image is from SU called "Bringing the Baby" and was borrowed from Jane, I coloured little sections with Copic Markers and matted with the two blue cardstocks which I distressed as well. Sentiment is from a retired SU set and inked in Pacific Blue. I used the word window punch and the decorative label punch and added some bright blue bling to finish it off.
All card except for the basecard was also from my scrap stash, hope this qualifies for Pixie's Challenge.

You're too Cute

Hi again, a lovely day here in Adelaide, a bit cool to start with but warmed up nicely. Did a bit of phone chasing today re paperwork to sort out some of the issues that have come up because of Adrian's accident. Have to get details of his injuries and recovery prognosis but the hospital doesn't work very fast and it could take 2 weeks so that means organising insurance payments that cover his wages won't happen yet either, need the medical details for that!
Laurie has just rung from Cambodia and things aren't going very smoothly with the bikes they bought, everyone is having to fork out money for repairs. He had fuel problems and found that there was salt in his fuel tank. Also the foot peg broke and he had to have that fixed. The guy that organised the trip has just had a piston break and will have to rebuild the engine. They may find themselves not doing that much touring if they are stuck waiting for repairs!!
I've managed to find a bit more time tonight and have my card finished and ready to share.
The basecard is SU Peach Parfait card and I've used left over bits and pieces on the rest of it. A piece of brown cardstock and I used a border punch on two edges. A scrap of orange and white striped DP. I cut 2 shapes using a Nestie circle die and a Nellie Snellen die out of scrap pieces of card and I had a small piece of this spotty DP and I cut a large circle out of it. The image was stamped onto white card with SU Basic Grey ink and coloured with Copic Markers. The little girl and sentiment are from My Favourite Things and is called "Enjoy Every Moment". I stamped the sentiment onto white card with SU Rose Pink ink and then cut it into separate words and mounted onto scraps of the Peach Parfait and then the brown. To finish off I added a tiny little clear bling on the heart of the little girl's dress.

Hi, another day done! Craft started back today with our teacher Shirley opting to take her class back to the local church craft group instead of her home. Today was actually only sign up day so we went back to Shirley's this week for cardmaking but will have to go to the church next week.
Choir started last week and as we have a concert coming up we have been told we can only be absent 2 out of 10 rehearsals, any more and we won't be allowed to perform. That meant leaving Adrian home for nearly 4 hours, luckily our oldest son popped in just as I was going out, LOL, in fact he started coming into our drive as I was backing out, lucky I saw him and stopped and he quickly put his car into reverse otherwise we might have had a bit of damage to the cars. Two of our friends also turned up just after I left so he had some company for a couple of hours.
Onto my card, which I'm not real happy with the colouring, started off with a lighter colour on the dress then went to add some shading and it was too dark so had to use that colour all over, not quite the look I wanted but it was too late to start again.
The basecard is SU Real Red cardstock and then a layer of white, another layer of red and then the DP which was a freebie from a magazine that I've had in my stash for a while. Ribbon is also from stash, The sentiment came with the paper and I adhered it to some white card before cutting it out and mounting with foam dots. I've used a couple of different nestie dies and the image is a freebie from Digi Darla

Molly's Flowers

Evening all, Adrian was discharged today from hospital and is tucked up in the bed in the spare room. It has a higher headboard and I think the bed itself might be slightly higher than ours. He had a reasonable afternoon, several naps and stayed up for about 3 1/2 hours after tea tonight. Still taking pain medication, I hadn't realised until today that his ribs are broken at the back not the front so it is probably more painful as he is putting pressure on them when he sits or lies down.
I left him to his television watching and came and made a card, so here it is.
Oh, by the way, Laurie rang from Cambodia tonight, he arrived safely, has his scooter and made sure it is allright mechanically, I think he had to get some new tyres and a couple of things fixed first. He had a ride around the city and had a meal out at a local street restaurant. Seems to be having a good time so far.
Now onto the card, LOL.
I've used orange cardstock from stash for the basecard, a layer of DP from SU and another SU paper cut into a 3cm wide strip. I cut a deckled oval (nestie) with blue card from stash and adhered it to a piece of white card and cut a small edge around the diecut. The next size die is too big for what I wanted. I used a punch to make the corners out of blue card and the orange DP and then added some bling as well. The image which is from Annabelle Stamps called Lil Molly's Stamps was inked with SU Basic Brown onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers and then trimmed and adhered to the oval. The whole thing was then popped up with foam dots.

Boy with Birthday Cake

Hi to all popping in today, it's been another warm day here again today. Adrian comes home from the hospital tomorrow morning and we will see how he copes sleeping in a bed that doesn't tilt up to help him sit up or get out of bed like the hospital ones!
I won't chit chat as it's late again.
So onto my card for tonight.
I've used one of the SU blues for the cardbase and then a piece of DP from my stash of bits and pieces. I used the topnote die to cut the white piece and mounted the little boy on the top (will have to go find the stamp later to tell you where it's from as I stamped it quite a while ago and coloured today) I wound a bit of baker's twine around one end and mounted the sentiment with foam dots. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs.

Fairy with bouquet

Hello everyone, I would like to welcome a new follower, craftin dawn. Nice to meet you.
I've had a busy day today, starting with a trip to the airport with 2 of our sons and our future DIL. Laurie is now in Phuket for the night and then on to Cambodia in the morning. We left the airport and went to the florist shop where my son knows a girl. She has offered to get the best price for them for their wedding bouquets and table flowers, from there we went to get two new tyres on DIL's work car and while we waited the 45 mins needed to do it, we looked in a electrical shop and then had lunch at a hotel nearby. They dropped me home and I gathered up some craft gear and headed to a friend's place where we made stamped images and put them on candles. They turned out well and they were all pleased with the instructions that I had found on splitcoast stampers. I think some of them will be making more throughout the year now they know how to do it!
Came home early evening to drop my gear off as it is still very hot here and I didn't want my candle melting all over my craft gear. Had a quick tea and headed back into the hospital. Adrian is still there and sounds like Monday will be the day he comes home.
I decided to make a card based on a sketch challenge,so here it is,

The Basecard is SU Wisteria Wonder and the embossed piece of card is SU Rose Red and I used a Nellie Snellen die to make the border on a piece of Wisteria, then a strip of Lucky Limeade, I added a ribbon and 2 little green heart pins. To finish off I added some green bling to the card. The image was a freebie from Lili of the Valley and coloured with Copic Markers

Shopping Spree

January is nearly over, time doesn't slow down for anyone! Adrian is still in the hospital and had an arm sling fitted today which he doesn't like but definitely needs, I spent a couple of hours at the hospital with him so was there when the girl come with the sling and I told him that he needs to wear it and not make a fuss. He is not a good patient!!! He was sick again while I was there too and is not eating very much. They changed the type of pain medication so it is probably the meds that he is reacting to. I got mixed up with the parking times and got back to my car about 20 mins after the ticket had expired and luckily there was no parking infringement notice on my windscreen. Laurie is now packed for Cambodia, one pair of jeans, a couple of t-shirts, socks and undies and a pair of shorts. His riding boots and riding "armour" as well. A few small bits and pieces like tyre mending kit and a couple of tools, his helmet and a camera that mounts on his helmet so he can film as he rides and some American dollars as he can use these easier than Australian.
It's another late night for me as people pop in and out either to talk about their dad or say goodbye to Laurie
I left it late to start making my card for tonight so here it is,
Basecard is SU Not Quite Navy, DP is from DCWV Linen Closet matstack The scallop diecut was made with a DP from SU and the image is from Digi Darla, printed onto white cardstock, coloured with Copic Markers and cut out with a Nestie circle die.
I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the DP and added 2 thin gold border stickers.

First Christmas Card for 2012

Hi everyone, just wanted to say thankyou so much for your concern and well wishes for my husband. I rang the hospital this morning and found out they want to keep him for a couple of days. They also wanted to do a pelvic x-ray and possibly one of his hands. They did the first one and there is no problem there and I don't think they are going to do the hand now, he seems to have full use of both hands. Still in quite a bit of pain. I took our granddaughters in to see him which cheered him up quite a bit. I had a couple of the kids over for tea tonight and they went home about 10 p.m. Our youngest son leaves for Cambodia on Saturday for 2 weeks. He is doing a charity bike trip called Ride for Cambodia, they buy motorbikes/scooters and at the end of the two weeks they give them to the charity to sell as fundraising. I'm praying that everything goes well and he keeps safe over there, especially riding the bike.
I see I have a few new followers, so welcome, Merry, Trish, Bernie, Hanneke and Scrapping girl. I may have already welcomed a couple of you, not sure, LOL, my brain is a bit stressed out at the moment.
I wanted to get a Christmas card done before the end of the month so chose to do that tonight.
I've used SU Lucky Limeade for the base, a green dotty paper from My Mind's Eye and a small strip from 2007 Allison Ellis Design made here in Oz called "Precious Purple Trees" it has strips with stars, trees and this delightful little berry and star vine. The greeting is from an SU set called "Short and Sweet" and inked with a Tombo Marker in a purple shade. I used a blue card from stash to cut a nestie and I also cut around the digi image from Meljen's Desigs printed on white card. I used Copic Markers to colour the snowman.

No card tonight

Sorry, I have no card to share tonight, my hubby has had a car cut in front of him this afternoon while on his motorbike and was taken to hospital. What makes it worse is I took my granddaughters and my youngest daughter (not their mum) over to the supermarket and as we came out of the shop saw my husband in the mall. He had come to register one of his bikes and I didn't know he was there. He walked out with us and we both left. We left a bit after him as we had to get the groceries in the car and the kids into their car seats. I drove out the back way and as we were coming to the intersection cars were piled up and someone drove past on the other side and told us there was an accident and we might want to turn around and go back the other way. It's too hard to turn around there so we stayed in the queue of cars and slowly got closer to the intersection. I could see a motorbike in the middle of the main road and said to my daughter that I thought it was dad's and then I looked over and could see him lying on the ambulance trolley. Rachel jumped out of the car and headed to the ambulance, I whacked it into park and did the same leaving the kids in the car, I made her go back to them and get in the driver's side. They took him to the hospital and did x-rays and a CT scan which took forever, made several phone calls with not much information being given and I finally got through about 10 p.m (over 4 hours later) to find he has broken 2 ribs and fractured 5 more, fractured or broken his shoulder and they've decided to keep him in overnight as well. He didn't want me to come in but another daughter and her boyfriend had come to the house and she stayed with the girls and her boyfriend drove me in. They've given him several doses of morphine and were just about to take him up to a ward, so I saw him briefly and gave him a change of clothes and his toothbrush and then come home again. Tomorrow is Australia Day here and we are going to a barbeque at a friends. Will have to play it by ear.

Well onto the card I've just finished,
The basecard is SU Wild Wasabi and then a layer of DP from Graphic 45 Baby 2 Bride Collection called "Baby Button Bingo" I added a small rectangle of green linen look DP from DCWV Linen Closet Matstack. I printed the image, one from Whoopsi Daisy onto white card and cut it out with a nestie, layered it onto some Wild Wasabi and trimmed around it. I used Copic Markers for the colouring and finished off with a small picket fence in Wild Wasabi as well with a pink ribbon. The punch is Martha Stewart. Lastly I added lots of bling

Vintage Fairy

A really early post for me today and might be back later tonight with another. Choir practice starts again tonight so hopefully won't be too late. We have a guest conductor for the upcoming concert and he wants to spend as much time as possible rehearsing, They usually have an easy night first one back with a small supper and chat during the break.
My card today has no stamping on it, but I have used Tim Holtz distress ink on it.
The basecard is one of the blues from SU. The DP is from stash and actually is vintage style with small flowers on it, not that you can see any LOL! I distressed the edges with Vintage Photo ink added a paper lace heart shaped doily, also distressed with ink. The image is a sticker from a book called "Flowers from a Victorian Garden" I picked it up a couple of years ago in a second hand shop for 50 cents.
I've added some blue lace and 3 flowers that I made from some scrap DP
The scan is a bit orangy, not quite the right colour!

Hugs and Kisses

Another hot day today, I did some more sorting of boxed craft, so much paper to go through as I have lots of photocopies of stitching patterns from my books. I keep the books on the shelf and copy the patterns and keep in folders ready to pull out if I want to do some paper embroidery. I do this with the iris folding patterns too. Only there are a lot of loose sheets not in folders yet! My room is looking much better, though it's a pity about the boxes piled up in the lounge room, LOL!! (I'll get to them eventually)
We went with friends tonight to the Hill Billy Hooters, a live broadcast at a local radio station where artists turn up and perform on the radio, they put their name on a list and try and get through as many as possible in an hour. It was a reasonably good night until nearly the last song. Someone collapsed behind us and an ambulance was called. Two women were giving the man CPR before the ambulance got there so I am not sure of the outcome. They stopped the broadcast and switched over to a tape and people left. I'm not sure whether he was there on his own, it will be a shock to his family either way.
So came home feeling sad for him and his family, hopefully they managed to pull him through.
I sat down to colour an image and got right to the last little bit and messed it up. It's now torn up and in the bin!
So, I started again with a different image altogether.
The cardbase is pink card from stash, layered with a brighter pink card, a layer of blue DP also from stash, more pink card, a DP from SU. I popped the image on with foam dots and added a sticker and double matted for the sentiment. I found the sticker pack when I was sorting through a box, they came from one of the cheap discount stores. The image was a freebie from Whoopsi Daisy, cute isn't she?

Girl with Love Letter

Hi, another day just about finished and it's been a hot one too. The air conditioner has been working overtime!
I set off to church this morning only to be met with the major road into town closed and every other road I went down was closed too. The last stage of the Tour Down Under bike race! I wasted 15 mins trying to head in the direction I wanted to and in the end I knew I was going to go a long way out of the way to get there and I would be very late and may not find a park anyway. I gave up in the end and drove home!! I ended up sorting through some books and a couple of boxes, still sorting through the craft room and working out which position to put things so they will be the most accessible. It's taken me a long time to make this chaos so I won't sort it out in a hurry either.
Onto the card, LOL.
The basecard is SU Lucky Limeade and then a piece of SU DP as well. I trimmed a rectangle in the limeade and rounded the corners and mounted the digi from Pollycrafts that I had printed onto white card and coloured and cut out, I used foam dots on the little girl. The brown piece is a piece of card from stash which I corrugated. The flower was a blue brad which I coloured with a pink Copic Marker and then stuck a blue faceted bling in the middle and put through the brown strip before adhering it to the card. I added part of an SU stamp from Well Scripted set and cut out with an oval punch, stuck that onto a piece of limeade card and trimmed around with the scissors.

There' snow-one like you!

A quick post so I can enter my card into a challenge. I've been meaning to make this card but not got around to it.
The cardbase is a blue card from stash - I think the paper was My Mind's Eye and I cut two nestie shapes and printed the image onto the white piece before cutting it. This cute snowman was a freebie digi from Alison Spelman and is called "Spike, the snowman" I coloured him with Copic Markers, I made up the sentiment and printed on the computer, I used a red pen to draw the faux stitching. I've added some silver snowflakes punched from metallic card and added some red bling.

Tinkerbell Birthday Wishes

Still up as usual, hubby is asleep, my son has gone out and not come home yet so probably staying with friends and I've only just finished my card for today. Have been busy all day putting things away in cupboards and shelves, sorting through craft magazines, have decided I might have to do a cull of some things so I can fit things in and still look neat, usually the floor is covered in boxes and bags!
Well, I'm very tired so I will get on with this post!
Cardbase is SU Rose Red and the next layer is Lucky Limeade followed by this gorgeous DP called "Cherry Blossom" from Strawberry Kisses Collection, I've only got one more tiny bit left - wish I'd bought another piece at the time. Tinkerbell is from a clear set of stamps by EK Success - Disney fairies, Tinkerbell. I stamped her onto white card, coloured with Copics and then cut her out and popped up with foam dots. The greeting is from SU Heard from the Heart, I used only part of the stamp, cut it out and sponged it with green, blue and pink ink to tone in with the DP. I then sponged around the edge with the blue.

Valentine Rabbits

Hello to all that are visiting today, I've been in my craft room trying to put some bits and pieces away. My huge cupboard with 26 drawers in it has been moved and I've now put all the drawers back in, a huge job as quite a few had to be emptied before carrying as they were too heavy, especially the ones with my punches in. We put the hutch upside down in the end and I've got a two shelf cupboard on top of it that normally has magazines, card, quilling, iris folding and paper embroidery books and patterns in it. I'm not sure whether they will go back up there or on the hutch. Might put the beads up the top instead as I have to cull two other cupboards from the room.
The whole family got together and our friends Doug and Joyce to say goodbye to my daughter's ex-boyfriend (he's a lovely guy and they are still friends) - 15 of us including the 3 children. We enjoyed a meal and a chat out at the hotel, he leaves for Perth on Monday.
Well, I managed to sit down and find papers and card amongst the mess to finish off this card, I coloured the image which is from Meljen's this afternoon at my craft group and then put it all together tonight.
The real red is all the go on my last few cards so here it is again as the basecard and matted behind the DP - from The Paper Collection , Papercraft Essentials, a free gift with a magazine I bought last year. I've used a Nellie Snellen die to cut the white heart and also the red and two circle punches for the sentiment which comes from SU. Ribbon is from stash, LOL, I've just reorganised about 3 drawers of ribbon! I added a bit of bling to finish it off.

Sorry, just checked the pic and it is shaded on the right hand side I suppose because the ribbon is higher there it must have let a bit of light come in. Okay I went back and did another scan, but it's still not right but the best I can do.

Time for skateboarding

Oops!! a bit late again, I've been dragging boxes out of my overcrowded craft room and pushing cupboards around and I've still got more to do in there before we can shift the large drawer cupboard around and bring in the hutch topper and then it will be back to trying to fit it all back in. It has now overflowed into several rooms, I am a bit frustrated because I can't get to some things at present.
Oh well, I do have a few stamps out and my cuttlebug is accessable so that is a good thing, LOL.
Onto tonight's card, I've gone with SU Real Red again for the basecard and the DP is from stash - a remnant of a sheet. I've done several layers using white and red and then two nestie circle diecuts in blue and red with the image printed off onto white card, coloured with Copic Markers and backed with a piece of the blue. The image is a digi from Pollycraft and I popped this panel up with foam dots.

Love is in the Air

Hello again, a hot day today and lots of wind as well! I felt sorry for the bike riders from the Tour Down Under race heading off into a head wind and about a 4 hour race. I heard they were about 30 mins later than what was expected in one of the small towns they rode through. I had another of my old friends contact me last night and we organised to meet this morning and walk up my street to the main road and watch the bikes set off. We stood in the shade of a fence, not very wide, LOL, to try and keep out of the heat before they whizzed past us. We then walked down to the shopping area and had a hard time finding a place to get a coffee as there were so many people around. Finally found a little place down an alley which was very retro. There were old vinyl records adorning the walls and old mirrors and posters. The tables and chairs were old too with the laminate table tops. We had our coffee and sat and chatted for a while and then ordered food. It was a good meal and it was great catching up. She also left with the promise of us "girls" getting together soon.
We'll see if that pans out. Finished off the rest of the day with getting several loads of washing done and playing ball with the dogs while I hang it on the line. LOL, as soon as I go out the back door they have the ball for me to kick as I put the clothes up. I'm sure Cody would make an excellent fielder for the cricket team as he quite often manages to snatch the ball out of the air before it hits the ground.
Here is my card for today,
I've used SU Real Red cardstock for the base, then a white layer that I put through an embossing folder with little dots. I used a Fiskar's border punch and left the other white panel plain for a bit of contrast. I used both the plain and scallop circle nesties to cut the red and white circles and stamped the image in SU Choc Chip straight onto the plain white circle and then coloured with Copic Markers.
Ribbon and the little heart charm are from stash. Nearly forgot to tell you about the image! It's a Penny Johnson stamp from Stampavie called "Kiss Me" it comes with a little spray of mistletoe as well, so it could be used for Christmas as well.

Off to the Beach

Hi everyone, I had a surprise today, a phone call from a friend I haven't seen for about 12 months or a bit more. She was free today and called to see if she could pop around to visit. I had our car here being serviced by a family friend who owns his own mobile mechanic business so was stranded at home anyway. She came and stayed for a coffee and a chat and then when the mechanic had finished with my car, we went and had lunch at a cafe with a promise to catch up again soon and also to arrange a get together with a couple of other friends who we both haven't seen for a while.
The tour down under race is starting on the road at the top of our street so there were road closures today and a street party and tomorrow the bikes come through.
Well it is rather late so I am going to have to tweak my post to come in before midnight so better get on with it,
Basecard is SU Wisteria Wonder and then I made 3 panels using SU Wild Wasabi and some DP scraps that I think are My Mind's Eye papers. I made a white nestie diecut and adhered it to some of the Wisteria and trimmed around it. The sentiment is called All Occasions from Clear Expressions by Hampton Art and was inked in Choc Chip. I popped the nestie up with foam dots and stuck this cute image from Pollycrafts (a recent purchase) and I have coloured her with Copic Markers.

Girl with Birdhouse

A lovely day here weather wise. My hubby and I went off to church this morning and then a drive through the Adelaide Hills to catch up with his brother and SIL and a cousin and her two children as well. We spent the afternoon with them and I went for a ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle that belongs to my BIL. I haven't been on the back of a bike since I was in my late teens.
We came home and had a late tea and then I tried moving some boxes out of the craft room. One of the cupboards I have is a two door wooden unit with 26 drawers in it. It is divided into 6 sections in each drawer and they are quite wide and also very long. It was originally a cupboard made for a church to hold music and I was asked if I wanted it and I jumped at the chance, it is excellent for holding all sorts of things including all my punches. Anyway, I am going to have to rearrange the cupboards in the room so I can fit that hutch topper in and there is no way any of us could move this cupboard with it full. Because it has the drawers in it I need to have it in a spot where I can open the doors right up to be able to pull the drawers out and get to the back sections. I will take some pictures to share once I have got it all sorted out, at the moment it is a disaster area!!
So onto my card before the clock strikes 12 midnight,
I have used SU Early Espresso again for the basecard and topped with a sparkly embossed DP from a matstack callen Linen Closet. I then added a diecut in blue (Nellie Snellen) and used a light tan DP and a floral DP from the same matstack and layered over the top of the diecut. Sorry I stamped and coloured this image a few months ago and due to the craft room being in so much array I can't tell you who made it. I found it on e-bay though. I used Marvy Markers to colour it, rounded the corners and mounted onto another piece of Early Espresso. The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments and inked in Choc Chip.

Hip, Hip, Hooray

A long day, but a good one! We were up early this morning so we could get down to Victor Harbour before 9 a.m. and it takes about an 1 1/2 hours. We went down for an auction - people donate things and everything is sold to benefit a local charity club. We took our trailer just in case we bought something. I found a lovely hutch top - quite large with shelving and partitions that would suit storage of A4 paper so bid on it and got it for $10 LOL, we just have to work out how I am going to manage to find space for it!!!! My friend bought a King size ensemble bed with a pillow top mattress in excellent condition, looks new. No-one else bid on it so she got it for $2 New ones are worth over $3,000 and her son is about 6'7" tall so definitely needs a big bed. She then had to go and buy sheets, a quilt and a cover which cost her over $200. All in all a wonderful bargain.
We had lunch with them and stayed till about 5 p.m. We came home a different way and dropped in to see my OH's uncle. He talked us into staying for tea and as he normally goes to his daughter's house he rang her and we all went there. He caught quite a bit of salmon the day before so that is what we had for our meal. It was delicious. We stayed talking until nearly 9 p.m. then dropped him home and we arrived home about 10.30 p.m.
Out came the measuring tape and pen and paper to try and see where we can fit this cupboard. We think we've worked it out but it's too late to do anything tonight and I will have to pull a lot of stuff out so we can move things around. Not going to get done in a hurry!
Well I managed still to make a quick card after I found the DP I knew I had somewhere!
Here it is:
I used SU Choc Chip cardstock for the cardbase, DP is from stash (I've already used this so don't have the name on it anymore) The image is a digi I bought from Meljen's, coloured with Copics - cut out and adhered to a blue nestie diecut. I added all the little swirls and the hair on his head as I had cut these off when I trimmed him - it was too hard to try and cut around the hair!
The sentiment is SU and stamped with Choc Chip ink onto yellow card from stock and I added faux stitching with a blue pen.
Off to bed, not sure if I am going to church in the morning and we have another catch up with another cousing tomorrow afternoon.

Last of the Cavendish Ladies

Late again tonight, I started this card earlier, but my OH, myself and our youngest son met number one son, DIL and 3 grandchildren and also our youngest daughter in a park where they were showing Cars 2 on a large inflatable? screen. It's daylight saving here, so it didn't start till quite late and we got home about 11.30 ish as it takes about 30 mins to get back home from the park. The kids enjoyed it although the 3 year old fell asleep and missed the end.
I dropped in on Mum to help move some furniture around because she got a new rug for her lounge room, it wasn't as big as she thought it was, so, LOL, we moved it around several times trying to work out which way was the best. We went out to a hotel for lunch and I dropped her home and came back here. I thought I might have a short nap but number two son rang and asked if I had any large card for making signs, he is best man in a wedding tomorrow and wanted to make some funny signs to use at the reception. We ended up going to Office Works and buying some thick board instead of card and a very thick black pen to write with. Home again and we now have his dog to mind over the weekend as well. The wedding is at his friend's parents place and they live about 1 1/2 hours away by the sea. They are making a weekend out of it going down tonight and returning on Sunday.
Well better share my card, here it is.
I used SU Early Espresso for the basecard and a layer of SU Pink Pirouette and then a layer of DP from a pad of A5 designer papers from Rosie's studio called Chantilly Lace. I stamped the 3rd lady in the Kanban Stamps, "The Cavendish Ladies" with SU Choc Chip ink and left her uncoloured, The sentiment is from Petite Pairs also SU and cut with a circle punch and backed with the Early Espresso.

Black & White Elegance

Yeah, got together with a couple of friends to craft today! After having no craft since before Christmas, it was good to get together and chat while we craft away. Jane made 3 card to Joyce's one and LOL, I just coloured images because I like to make my cards home where all my crafty goodies are. I find it easier than lugging the kitchen sink with me which is just about what I do normally!!
I also caught up with Doug and Shirley for coffee and an early lunch and LOL, Thursday night is our night out with Joyce & Doug for tea, so no cooking tonight either.
My card for today is another attempt at making a card for a challenge that was to include black, white and silver. I am much happier with this one and will actually enter it this time, LOL.
I've used SU Basic Black with the fold at the top of the card, a layer of silver metallic paper and then a DP from a stack of A5 papers called Soiree from Rosie's Studio. I ink distressed the edges of the DP with Whisper White ink. I added a black piece cut with a ribbon style punch. The image ( Kanban stamps, The Cavendish Ladies) was stamped onto Whisper Whtie card using Basic Black and cut out and popped up with foam dots, I finished off with two little rows of white pearls also from SU.

Another day nearly over. I stayed home today and caught up on some washing and dishes and some blogging. While I was hopping around I saw several cards like the one I am sharing tonight. It is called "Double Dutch Fold" and you can find directions over at Splitcoaststampers.com. The top folds down and you add an extra piece to form the little gatefold, pop over and look at the tutorial, it's easy to make.
For the cardbase I used SU Early Espresso and the DP is from p.i.g.g.y tales twinkle, twinkle little star collection. I've had this in my stash for a while now so am really happy that I found this lovely Meljen's image to go with it. I bought several images after finding some freebies to try. I cut the image out with a nestie circle diecut and I used SU Wisteria Wonder to cut the backing circle nestie diecut and also the punched circle for the sentiment. The sentiment on the front and on the inside of the card are from Pink Cat Studio - Ladybug Party, the little star is from SU So Happy for You. I continued the theme inside the card using another piece of the DP and then a piece of white card which I sponged with Pacific Point. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

You Are Simply Wonderful

Well, I'm very late tonight and I'm going to tweak the post so it comes in on Tuesday as it is after midnight! I had trouble with this one and I'm still not happy with it!!! I had 4 attempts at stamping on this silver paper and it kept smudging or not coming out at all. I'd get the lady perfect and then mess up the sentiment. So no chat tonight, LOL, just the card (and it's lucky it's not in the bin....hmmm! there's still the possibility,:( will see how I feel in the morning)
I used SU Basic Black for the cardbase and topped with a piece of SU Whisper White and then another piece of the black and then the silver paper with the image inked in SU Basic Black. The stamps are from Kanban and are called The Cavendish Ladies. The sentiments are from an SU stamp set which I will put in the name later. I also put a row of black pearls down the side, I chose to leave them on the glue strip instead of cutting individually, LOL, I'd already had enough problems!!!

Love is Sweet...

Today was spent at home with our two granddaughters and then my DIL brought the 6 1/2 month old over as well for me to babysit while she went out with friends for a meal and a movie. He was very well behaved, ate his lunch, had a play and then a sleep. Woke up just over an hour before she came back and had another play. I had formula here just in case he was desperate for a feed, but it worked out well and she fed him before going home. The girls are staying an extra night so I can take them to see "Puss in Boots" tomorrow.
Our youngest son has flown over to Sydney tonight as he is there for a two day training course of some new motorbike. He rang late tonight to tell us he had arrived safely and was staying in a 5 star hotel all paid for by work. He went on his own, but the other people involved are also staying at the same hotel, so they meet for breakfast and all travel together, which is great, he doesn't have to worry too much about how to get there!
Well better get this card scanned and attached so I can get this posted.
I found this free digi through Free Digital Stamps (link on sidebar) it is by Meljens and is called Love is Sweet.You can find them here at the Digital Stamp Shop. I printed it off and then cut it out with the reverse wonky triangle die from Nestabilities. Cut a larger one in red and after colouring with Copic Markers adhered together. The basecard is SU Tempting Turquoise cardstock, a recent purchase and I have put another layer of the red card (from stash) and then the heart DP - also from stash. I added a strip of red ribbon with little white hearts on it to finish it off (also new). I thought this would make a great Valentine's card or even maybe an engagement or modern wedding card.

and also Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything goes - with the option of a new theme, so it could be a new baby, a new beginning or just something new from your stash
I've used cardstock and ribbon as my new something!

Mouse bearing gifts

Hi, We have our two granddaughters staying with us for a couple of nights so didn't get to start on a card till later tonight. We've had more rain today and cooler weather which was nice after those really hot days.

I tried going back through some of the previous posts on Free Digital Stamps blog and couldn't find it. I've now put it in a folder with the blog name on so I won't forget again.
This is another one that I forgot to put in whose it was, I just click save and sometimes they have whose it is in the file name and sometimes not and I just forget to write it in. I do find them though through Free Digital Stamps which you can find the link for in my side bar. (edited to share the stamp creator's blog thanks to Mary J - it's by Torico at Birdie Brown - it is now a retired image, but she does have some pear images and matching sentiment - you can find it at http://birdiebrown.blogspot.com/)
I've used SU Wild Wasabi for the basecard, the DP is from CherryArte (this is just recently purchased). I used some thin red card from stash to make the diecut shape and white for the circle. I printed the image and then coloured with Copic Markers and cut it out and mounted onto the circle. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs inked in Choc Chip, sponged with the same ink and mounted onto a red oval, I added some bling on the sentiment and also across one corner.
I would like to enter this into the challenge at Birthday Sundaes - must have birthday sentiment on card with the option of something new added.

A New House

Hi, we've just come home from the cinema, We went and saw "War Horse" It was interesting but lots of deaths both human and animal depicted. I prefer a comedy or mystery more.
I went to Saturday craft and helped the girls to make a square tissue cover box to slip over the shop bought ones. We used the cuttlebug to do some cutting and embossing and everyone's looked different. Helen used chalk sponged over the embossing and decorated the top with some flower beads and some pearls and a border sticker around the top outside edge. I went for a bit more manly style and used Sahara Sand cardstock and a embossing template with clocks and cogs on. I distressed it with Choc Chip ink and may put some buttons or something on the top to embellish it. Another lady used autumny toned chalks on her basic white box and Judy made one from red card and distressed the edges with ink as well. When I get a photo, I will share the two I made.
Well, LOL, I better get a move on and share this card so I can get some sleep tonight!
I used SU Cherry Cobbler as my basecard and then used two bits of left over scraps of DP so not sure who made them. The image is a freebie digi and if I find the name, will add it later. I coloured it with Copic Markers and cut it out and mounted onto a topnote diecut in SU Certainly Celery which I trimmed back and distressed then also ink distressed using Tim Holtz distressing inks, Shabby Shutters and Vintage Photo. The second diecut was using a coffee coloured card called Kula Cream. I also used this to print the computer generated greeting as I didn't have anything suitable and distressed with the inks and mounted onto another punched circle in Certainly Celery.

Warning, Warning!!

Hi, I've just come home from a barbeque for one of our friends' sons. It is still warm outside and it is now about 11 p.m. Caught up with Shirley and Doug for a short while this morning for a cup of coffee and then spent the rest of the day at home.
The card I made today was for the birthday boy who is an adult but I liked this robot which was another freebie from Elizabeth Dulemba.
The basecard is SU Garden Green and the DP is from Piggy Tales, billy goats gruff collection and I've used both sides on my card. I put a small scrap of striped paper across the middle of the two. The image was printed out on the computer and then coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and mounted onto a Nestie die cut in white. I mounted this onto a piece of scrap blue cardstock and trimmed around leaving a small border. I made up the sentiment and typed into a word document and printed out. I cut it out with an oval punch and also stuck this onto a scrap of blue and trimmed around into a speech bubble and mounted at the top of the robot.

Everything I used was from my growing pile of scraps. The basecard was the other half of A4 that I had left over from a previous card too!

Key to My Heart

Hello again, hope you have been enjoying your day. I had a trip to the Ikea shop with Mum and a friend. We ended up having lunch there and I couldn't resist getting a few little soft toys for my youngest granddaughter to play with. Also managed to get 3 loads of my son's clothes washed and dried. Missing my usual craft sessions as we break for the school holidays and still have the rest of January off. The little group I go to on Saturdays starts back this week though and we will be making a square tissue box cover using card and the cuttlebug for embossing and die cutting. I have to make sure I remember to take all the critical bits and pieces!
Might get that ready tomorrow so I don't forget anything, LOL!
Here is my card for today.
I've used SU Cajun Craze cardstock for the basecard, the DP is also SU and is a scrap from stash. I distressed the edges and then sponged with Tim Holtz ink. I then stamped a word background stamp by Prima Marketing using Choc Chip onto a scrap piece of white card and then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz ink and then roughed up the edges as well. I also stamped the lock and key onto this. I stamped these again onto white card using Basic Brown and then cut them out and paper pieced over the original images. The couple were also stamped in SU Basic Brown and coloured with Copic Markers and then fussy cut. These three stamps are all from Hampton Art - Graphic 45 set called Key to my Heart. It doesn't come with any sentiments, but I had the perfect sentiment to go with it. It's from SU You're a Gem clear mount set, also stamped in Basic brown and cut out with the small oval, sponged with the Distress Ink and mounted onto a larger oval in Cajun Craze. I added two little pearls and popped it onto the DP with foam dots. I thought the right hand corner of the main piece was a bit bare, so added some hearts from SU set I (heart) hearts. The chequered one was adhered flat, the large love one was cut out and mounted onto white card and trimmed with a little border. Both of these pieces were sponged around the edges, the last little heart was trimmed with a small border of white and popped up with a bit of foam.

Elegant Lady

Hi again, only 26C here today, the weather man has given us a reprieve for a couple of days and then it goes up again! I spent most of the day home, popped out to buy a new vacuum cleaner. My eldest popped in to borrow my chemist card which gives 20% off non prescription items and I ended up taking her to the chemist because my medications would run out tomorrow and I wasn't sure when she would return the card. So we also went to the supermarket and also Target, a department retail store.
I have 3 new followers I would like to welcome. Claire, Sandy and Sherri, I hope to "see" you from time to time. This blogging business certainly eats into any spare time, LOL, but I enjoy hopping from blog to blog seeing all the wonderful creations people make and share!
My card tonight is made on a basecard of pink cardstock from stash and then a layer of SU Early Espresso and then the DP is from Rosie's Studio, A5 Designer papers called Chantilly Lace. I have added an stamped image from Hampton Arts, Graphic 45. I stamper her in SU Choc Chip ink and then coloured with Copic Markers. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs also stamped in Choc Chip and I used an oval and scalloped oval punches to cut it out. I added some pale green pearls along the scalloped edge of the paper to finish it off.

Love Life...

There is finally a cool breeze coming through the window after another very hot day! I've been sitting in front of the computer sweltering from the heat in the room and also the heat generated from the monitor as well so it is very refreshing. Is is a fairly strong breeze as it is making the lace curtains billow out. I'm hoping we get some of it through the bedroom windows as they are facing a different direction.
My card for today is made with an image from a stamp set by Flonz, a New Zealand made clear stamp. I inked it with Basic Grey and stamped on white card, coloured it with Copic Markers and then cut it out. I've mounted it with foam dots onto a cream oval with a larger blue oval under that. The DP is from Rosie's Studio mini stack pad called Retro Revolution. The basecard is a burgundy card from stash. The sentiment is a little off centre. I was going to use the stamp-a-ma-jig, but put the little glittery embellishments on first and then had nowhere to put the positioning handle!! Wasn't thinking properly, but it is very late again. I stamped it in SU Bravo Burgundy and it is from SU set You're a Gem,

Oriental Man

Hi, sorry didn't get to post last night. We drove down the coast to our friends' house and had lunch with them and then went down to a lake that is fed from the sea and had a swim. Spent maybe an hour or so there and then headed back to the house and organised another meal. Two of their daughters came over and their partners and little grandson as it was our friend, Vaughan's birthday. At 9.30 p.m we were just thinking of heading back when my Mum rang. Her fridge had gone on the blink and as it was 41C yesterday we needed to get some of her food and especially her insulin under refrigeration. She had to throw out quite a lot of frozen meat that had already thawed out, luckily it was her rubbish removal today otherwise there would have been quite a smell! It was about 11.30 when we got to Mum's. LOL, I wonder if the neighbours were peeking out to see what was going on? After grabbing some of her food and insulin, Mum came and stayed the night with us and I took her home about tea time. She plugged the fridge in and a few minutes later the motor kicked in! So looks like it is working at present but still needs to be looked at to make sure it keeps going! No point in restocking it and chancing losing another lot of food.
At the moment I'm in the lounge room and the heat coming from the computer is adding to the general heat already in here, so am going to get on and share my card. I seem to be on a bit of an oriental kick at the moment, three in a row!
I've used a black basecard and then another of the lovely oriental papers I've had in my stash, I love these cranes. The image is one from my oriental collection and I think it may be the only male one I have, LOL, must go through them and check.
I stamped onto white card and sponged blue ink around the edge and also some yellow ink as well and then used a cream cardstock behind it. I decided not to use a sentiment but put something inside later.

Girl in Kimono with paper embroidered frame

Well, the last day of the year has arrived. My OH and I are going to my Son and DIL's tonight. The rest of our family are all out doing something with friends tonight. My daughter's boyfriend's arm is on the mend, he ended up with two puncture wounds to the top of his forearm and one underneath that they hadn't even realised was there until the doctor looked at his arm. I hadn't realised they were quite so far from home when it happened and had several hours drive back as there was no hospitals in between their campsite and the city. Hubby's party went well and again we probably all ate too much. I will be glad to get back to normal eating!! It is 36.6C at the moment and is supposed to get to 38C. Tomorrow is going to be a sizzler reaching 41C and we are thinking of taking a drive down the coast to visit some friends who are having a break from their farm. They bought a holiday house and try and get down there as much as they can.
Well, I'm scheduling this post for tonight as we will be out and will probably see the New Year in before coming home, although I am tired at the moment but I suppose the grandchildren will liven things up a bit. LOL.

Oriental Woman

Hi everyone, another long day. I popped out early this morning with a friend to a coffee shop to catch up with our friend Shirley and her husband, Doug. Thanks for shouting me a coffee Shirley!
Then we went to a clothes shop and I bought a top and my friend bought a pair of trousers for her Mum and then I dropped her home and drove to get petrol for the car and stop in for groceries for tonight's birthday barbeque! Then spent the rest of the arvo doing some clothes washing, dish washing and packing my craft gear away again!
Made salads, a potato bake and decorated a shop bought pavlova base. It was nice to have all the family here and several friends to help celebrate my OH's birthday. It has been a very hot day but is lovely outside now, nearly midnight, LOL. Everyone left about 30-40 mins ago and then I tidied up the rubbish and recycling and put in the bins so I've only got some of the dishes to do in the morning as one of my daughters did some of the washing for me already, Isn't she lovely!!
Well, I am sharing a card that I made earlier as no time to craft today.

The basecard if SU Real Red and the DP is from a set of Oriental Papers I bought a few years ago at a craft fair. The stamp is also from a set of stamps I've had several years and I can't remember the name of it or who made it. Sending Sympathy and Prayers

Another day closer to the end of this year. I am astounded at how fast the year has gone by. It's been a warm day here but it's really going to heat up over the next couple of days to about 38C, so will end the year with a scorcher!
It's my OH's birthday tomorrow and we are going to have the family and a few friends over for a barbeque in the evening - hopefully it will have cooled down a little bit. We have daylight saving as well at the moment so at 7p.m. it will be in reality 6p.m. and it will probably still be warm. That's okay, we can sit outside, the big umbrella is still up, just have to remember to get some bug spray so the mossies don't get us, LOL.
My oldest daughter's boyfriend got bitten by a dog yesterday while trying to protect her little daschund/terrier. They had gone camping, arrived and set up and then had gone straight down to the beach and five minutes later he was bitten so that was the end of their very brief trip. His dad and partner had gone too, so they stayed and packed up everything and my daughter drove him back here, dropped the dog off and then took him into the hospital, the doctor was at first worried that the tendon was damaged but thinks because he can move his wrist and rotate it that he doesn't need surgery. They gave him a tetanus shot and antibiotics, cleaned it up and I think stitches but not sure. He had two deep puncture wounds on his forearm. The people that owned the dog didn't even stay to find out how he was - just collected their dog and left. They got the rego number of the car and filed a report but whether anything will be followed up they don't know.
Enough chat, LOL. Onto sharing my card for today.
I decided to make a sympathy card as I only have a couple of these in my stash.
The basecard is SU Early Espresso and then I cut a piece of SU Really Rust and put through a cuttlebug embossing folder with little hearts on it. The image and sentiments are all from the same set by SU called "Love and Sympathy" and were inked in Really Rust onto white cardstock from stash and the backed with Early Espresso. I cut the quote sentiment into a tag and added an eyelet with my Cropadile and a small piece of brown ribbon to finish off.

Good Evening. Have had another quiet day at home. My hubby came home at lunchtime as there were no more scheduled jobs. I suppose with the holidays, some of the companies they would do work for have shut down. Not sure how it will affect his pay as he has not taken holidays and is officially working.
It's late again so I better get a move on and share my card for today.
I made this one for my OH as it's his birthday on Friday.
I've used SU Bashful Blue for the basecard, the DP is from Rosie's Studio mini pad called Transit Lounge. I also used SU Crumb Cake as a backing for the image which was stamped on white card and coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out. I added a few lines with a black marker under the tyres. The sentiment comes from SU set, Friendly Phrases and was backed with the blue card and I added 2 creamy brown brads from my stash. Hope he likes it! He used to ride a motorbike when we were first married and then after a couple of accidents with people just not noticing him, (the last one a lady did a u-turn and forced him off the road and squashed his foot between an electricity pole and his bike, our youngest had just been born a couple of weeks before.) he gave up riding and started again after our youngest son took up riding. Laurie is now 22. Now all 3 sons ride bikes and they do spend a bit of time going out together on rides every now and again! LOL, Male Bonding!! but it's a good thing.

Vintage Blue

Well, I've sniffled through today with a tissue not far from my nose! I went in to the city today with a friend to look for a new handbag at the sales. It is officially a public holiday, but most of the retailers in the city were open and also some of the bigger department stores in the suburbs, but the supermarkets were closed. Not that we lacked food, LOL, still more turkey, ham and pork to be had. I was grateful for having a bought lunch today and just ate a burger!
All the guys in the family have gone to the SpeedWay tonight so I'm home alone and not much on tv so actually decided to sit down and craft instead.
Here is the result,
I've used yet another free digi (have been saving them so thought it would be good to actually use them otherwise it will just be another lot of hoarded craft items to add to the stash. This may be one of my New Year's Resolutions, to use stash items!)
The base card is one of the SU Blues (lost the packaging) and then I've used two DP's from stash and the brown one is from SU and the one going across the middle is the other side of the SU paper. I matted the three top ones with the blue cardstock and then mounted my image which was cut out with a nestie die and backed with blue card which I trimmed to give a very small border. I popped it onto the card with foam dots. I decided I didn't want to put a sentiment on this one.

Lady in Green

Hi everyone, hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I haven't been feeling well over the last few days, but still managed to get the cooking done and had a very lazy day today. I'm sick of turkey and pork already. Just get to the stage after handling all that food that just thinking about eating it puts me off. I still feel full from Christmas Day!!
I pulled out a few craft bits and pieces late tonight so I could make something to share tonight.
So here it is,
The basecard is SU Wild Wasabi, with a layer of dark green textured card from stash. The DP is also from SU. The lovely lady was a digi freebie which I coloured with Copic Markers and then used a Nestie to cut her out with and also a larger nestie in the dark green to use as a matte.
The sentiment was inked in Choc Chip and is from SU set "Heard from the Heart"

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone, no card today and sorry there was no post last night. My son used to play drums in a couple of bands and they had a big reunion gig and he wanted us to come. They had other bands there as well so did not come on till late and because he was in two bands we didn't get home till after 12.30 p.m. and I've packed all my craft away until after Christmas. Having withdrawal symptons already, LOL.
It has actually past midnight here, so is officially Christmas. I have been sitting here working out the weights and times for cooking the pork and turkey, can't fit them in at the same time and they need different temperatures anyway, so will have to get up in the early hours to put the pork on and then again to get the turkey on about 6 a.m. We have church starting at 9.30 and I need to be there about 9 a.m. so that creates problems with the cooking. Will have to leave the turkey cooking while we are away and trust that there are no dramas!!

So..... Merry Christmas! Enjoy your day with family as we celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. Wishing you a day full of love and hope for the future, in His name.

Bridal Kiss

Wow, it was warm today, and we are looking at a very hot Christmas Day on Sunday! I had to do a bit of running around today looking for those DVD's for my DIL, I finally found them but couldn't get the boxed set and bought two DVD's from 1 shop and then 2 from another, Worked out more expensive too, oh well, I didn't want to end up having to give her money instead.

Another late night so quickly onto today's card,
The basecard is SU Basic Black and then a matte of white card with a layer of DP from Rosie's Studio Soiree pack. The image is another e-bay find and I have no idea who made it. I stamped it directly onto a Nellie Snellen die cut in white with SU Basic Grey and coloured it with Copic Markers. I then added 3 little pearl hearts that I've had in stash for quite a while.

Hedgehog with Holly

Hello everyone, just got home from our concert, we popped into a small gelatti shop and had an iced coffee afterwards. I was supposed to get picked up at 7.15 but my friends were 15 minutes late and we had to bang on the door of the venue to get let in. The room where we all meet is right down the end of a long corridor and down a short set of stairs, we could see everyone lined up getting ready to go on stage and luckily one of the men turned around and saw us as I'm not sure they heard the banging, LOL. Anyway we made it in time to go on stage. It went well and now we have a break until late January - must look up the starting dates.
I went out looking for DVD's for my DIL and couldn't find them so will have to look again in a different shop tomorrow. Starting to get worried I won't find them and then will have to think of something else!!
So onto my card for today,
I've used red card for the cardbase and then a piece of white that I've done some paper embroidery on and then stamped with this cute Penny Black Hedgie. I coloured him with ink and a blender pen.

Flowers in a Watering Can

Another day closer to Christmas and I still have a few things to buy and some housework to catch up on! After tomorrow night's Carol's Concert I will be finished for the year with my large choir and will only have church choir. They also take a break during January, so will have to sing around the house instead!
We had a late rehearsal tonight and I drop a friend off before coming home so instead of about a 15 min trip it probably takes me at least 30 minutes. I watched the tail end of a film just to relax a bit and then sat down to make this card,
I have used SU Concord Crush for the basecard, border punched one edge with a Martha Stewart punch and then layered a piece of DP from a Paper Pizazz book of papers that I've had in my stash for about 4 years. I bought it on sale and pulled it out a couple of weeks ago to give some to a friend who couldn't find the right bit of paper for her card. The second piece of DP is from My Mind's Eye. I stamped the image onto white card, coloured with Copic Markers and rounded the corners and then adhered it to a piece of Concord Crush and then mounted it to the front of the card.
The stamp I used is from a used set of stamps called "Happy Birthday" made by Our Daily Bread Designs. I used SU Choc Chip ink to stamp it with and Hunter Green for the little sentiment from SU Petite Pairs.

Rocket to the Moon

Very late again tonight, we had friends drop in around tea time with some wood so we asked them to stay for a meal with us. I had corned silverside cooking so made some mashed potatoes and veg to go with it. I wanted to make some mustard sauce but searched high and low for the mustard powder to no avail. So it turned into cheese sauce instead!
I had the neighbour's lawyer ring about the assault I witnessed a couple of months ago but I am not keen on having my name bandied around the court as I am wary of the man retaliating. He told me the police had found this man and were trying to charge him with assault so I could be called as a witness anyway. I hope not. I just wanted the man to stop attacking my neighbour, which is what he did when I yelled at him. He is still going to mention that a neighbour witnessed the assault and hope the judge doesn't want my name, if he does, the lawyer will be ringing me again possibly to try and convince me to agree to having my name mentioned in the court case. This is a separate case concerning a civil matter and separate to the one the police are trying to make. Aaaargh!!
I finally finished putting inserts and writing out my Christmas cards today and posted them out this afternoon. Crazy! I've had them made for months and still left it to the last week to organize them. I feel better that they should arrive either tomorrow or Wednesday.
Well anyway onto my card,
I have used SU Night of Navy as my cardbase and then a DP from a cre8tiv mini paper stack. I really like this paper it does look like stars shining. I added some holographic stars to give it a bit more shine although they may not show up on the scan. (Oh. I just checked the scan and you can see them, they haven't shown true to colour though, but still look ok??) I used a small round diecut which I sponged with Close to Cocoa and made little marks all over it with a yellow Copic Marker to hopefully make it look like the moon. The rocket is a freebie digi again and coloured with Copics and then popped onto the card with foam dots. The sentiment is from a See-D's set of stamps and I used an oval punch to cut it out and Pacific Point Ink to sponge around it.
I would like to enter this into Make It Monday Challenge #68 - Anything Goes.
I think you could use this card for a birthday or as a congratulatory card for something achieved.

Going Places

Hi everyone, another fairly full day today, up early and off to church. I came back home and then went with a friend, Jane off to Shirley's house to make some cards, a quick stop at the supermarket on the way home. I cooked some salmon for tea and then got ready to go with another friend, Fran, to a local Lessons and Carol's service at the Anglican Church. It was a lovely service, their choir sang all the pieces without music. They sang well mostly but I wasn't keen on several of the pieces but enjoyed the community carols. A good opportunity to sing!!
Back home watched CSI and then sat down to make a card for today's post.
Here it is,
I used SU Concord Crush for the basecard, DSP from My Mind's Eye (sponged the edges with SU Close to Cocoa) and I used two Nellie Snellen dies to make the little frame for my stamped lady which I coloured with Copic Markers. I cut around the edge of her bag so I could pop it out onto the frame. I stamped the sentiment also SU in Hunter Green and then coloured with a pink and also a purple Gel Pen.
Well it's very late and I do need some sleep, so am going to not visit any blogs tonight but hope to catch up some more tomorrow,

Bear inside paper embroidered frame

Hi everyone, how is your weekend going. It's been another warm day but a bit muggy and we have had thunder, lightning and rain from late afternoon. I'm quickly posting this as I don't want to be on computer too much while there is an electrical storm!
I've been out to craft today with friends and made a tissue box cover with card and embossed panels. I made it in white and I like the look. I haven't quite made up my mind whether to leave it plain or put a stamped image or flower etc on it. When I decide, LOL, I will try and take a photo to share.
Tonight we went out to a meal with lots of cousins, first, second and ? it gets confusing after that LOL!!
It was a huge house about a year old, the walk in wardrobe was big enough to make another bedroom! The first floor had four bedrooms, the daughter's room had a walk in wardrobe and an ensuite bathroom. The master bedroom was absolutely massive and then the huge walk in wardrobe as well. It also had a balcony. Two other guest rooms and they all had built in televisions too, an area at the top of the stairs with a lounge and tv too. A small built in area that you could make tea/coffee and I presume under that would have been a bar fridge for the milk etc.
Downstairs was a large office area, a lounge and then a large open kitchen (with a large walk in pantry that held cupboard space and the fridge and freezer.You wouldn't know it was even there except I asked for a glass of water.) a dining area and another lounge area - outside was a covered area and then the pool. Also a toilet and not sure if it was another bathroom as well. His property also has a creek running to one side. The house also has an enclosed garage and on the other side is another contained living area for his Mum. She has her own entrance from outside and has a bedroom, large bathroom area and open living, dining and kitchen. All this under the one roof. It was a good night, got to catch up with my SIL who has had breast cancer and still has one more lot of radiation treatment to go. Her hair is only just barely started to grow back. She is a lovely girl and has a positive attitude which has helped her through this.
So, I've not had time to make a card, therefore I am going to share another one of my swap cards.
This was a colour swap and luckily for me was my favourite "purple" I embroidered a frame on lilac cardstock, used a corner rounder and made up this sweet little 3D bear to put in the middle. I then mounted it onto a purple basecard.

12 Days of Christmas Partridge

Hi everyone,
Welcome to two new followers, Peggy and Scrappin Mama - blogger is still playing up and is not showing all my followers all the time, so if you don't see your pic there, I haven't deleted you at all. Blogger is being a pain!!!
It's been a lovely day weather wise here, a warm day and tonight it is still warm but with a cooling breeze. We've just come back from our daughter's helping to celebrate her boyfriend's birthday. He had his dad and partner and some of his friends over for a barbecue. I had our granddaughter over today she came with us. I was going to keep her overnight, but she is not 100% well again and we were only about 10 mins or so away from their home, so I took her home. That saves them coming and picking her up in the morning and also me picking up another bug with her sleeping next to me in bed!
I'm still a bit croaky but at least can sing now. We still have a carol's concert at the end of next week to perform.
Well as promised yesterday I do actually have the card to share. I went out and bought ink today and the printer will now scan. Crazy, I don't understand why they would make a programme for the printer to stop function in all modes when the ink is low or empty! Glad it wasn't an important document that I wanted to e-mail to someone.
This is the card I made,
Basecard and the largest nestie are made from a light blue cardstock. I made a line of faux stitching around the nestie. The DP is from My Mind's Eye. I cut another nestie in white and mounted the partridge on top of this with foam dots. The image is from a digi set called The Twelve Days of Christmas from Doodle Pantry and I coloured it with Copic Markers. The sentiment is also from the same set. I probably have enough cards for this year, but was keen to start using these lovely digis.

3D Flowers with embroidered frame.

Hi everyone, I'm a bit annoyed! My printer is low on ink and is recommending replacing it and I didn't buy any spare cartridges when I bought this unit. So it won't even allow me to scan which is crazy as I don't need ink for that. I made a card tonight and will have to save it for tomorrow after I buy some ink!!
I decided to share a card I made a while ago for a swap, so no chit chat tonight but straight into telling you about the card,
I used orange cardstock for the basecard and then embroidered onto white card with a variegated thread and added a 3d vase and flowers that I made last year.

The Dance

Hi everyone, my Mum's birthday today so "Happy Birthday Mum" Pity you had to go to the doctors on your birthday but good to finally get a bit more help about your medication.
I had a reasonably busy day, my DIL brought my youngest granddaughter over for me to look after. We hopped in the car and went to three different shops looking for a couple of pudding bowls as mine are all being used and my oldest daughter was coming over to make puddings for gifts. I had no luck, just wasted time and petrol running around. So, we ended up taking 3 of my puddings out of the bowls and wrapping them up so we could reuse the bowls. I got 3 loads of washing done and then left my granddaughter home with Katie and went and picked Mum up and took her to the specialist. We also went to the chemist where the staff were busy standing around trying to tie a flat bow. A real hoot. I showed them how I tie it and two of them just couldn't get a decent bow. One, actually bent down to tie it as if she was tying her shoe laces. So funny!! Took Mum home and then back home to help finish off the puddings. Katie had washed the dishes, brought the clothes in and also folded them so now only left with the saucepans the puds were in.
So after those ramblings, LOL, onto my card,
I've used SU Concord Crush as the basecard and also for the Reverse Wonky Rectangle Nestie diecut. White card for the other Nestie diecut which I stamped the image from Flonz stamps onto in SU Basic Black. I sponged with Tim Holtz distressed ink - Blue Jeans and coloured the image with Copic Markers. The little champagne glasses are from the same set. I realized afterwards that they actually have rings on them so thought that this card could be used for an anniversary or non-traditional wedding card as I've given her a blue dress.
The DP is from Cre8tiv Mini Stack and I've added lots of bling to accentuate the paper. Oh, I've just checked out the scan and it really doesn't show the bling but I used 15 all over the background - you'll have to take my word for it, looks very sparkly!

A Little Bird Told Me.

Hi everyone, another lovely day started off a bit cool but warmed up nicely! I went and saw my Mum and we went to the shops. We have a clothing chain called Millers and they were having a sale where everything in the shop was $20 and under. So I got 5 dresses for me, and a top and also a dress to give my sister for Christmas. A great saving and I also managed to get into a smaller size too, so am quite pleased!!
We had lunch at a little cafe and then did some grocery shopping as well. I think the dogs came out on top with the shopping as I bought bones, several different sizes and some huge turkey necks. Because there are two of them they compete a bit with this sort of thing and I usually buy chicken necks but they just gulp them down instead of chewing so the bigger turkey ones are great.
I made zucchini slice for tea and then had to race out to a full rehearsal for our upcoming carols night. Late home and had my tea very late too. Hubby got home after me so he had a long working day and has to be up about 3.30 to start again.
Well, the card I have to share tonight is one I made a little while ago but hadn't put on the blog and as I haven't had any time to craft today I thought it would be ideal to use it. A very simple card using a cuttlebug folder and a couple of stamps.
The basecard is a very vibrant pink from my stash, a white embossed piece using a dotty folder and I think the image was SU and I bought the sentiment stamp on e-bay. Thanks for stopping by to look,

Not Just a Year Older

A busy day today, was up early and put washing on and hung out two loads before I went out with a couple of friends to a craft shop. This is instead of going to class tomorrow as my friend has to take her Mum to an appointment so we decided to skip class. I came back home and attacked the mountain of dishes. Hubby worked late so we didn't eat until after 8 p.m. Chicken stir-fry with rice. Managed to watch a little bit of television and then off to the craft room to try and come up with something to post tonight.
Here it is!
Brown card from stash for the basecard. The DP is from a paper pad called On the Move from Kaiser Craft which compliments the stamp which is from a Kaiser Craft set also called On the Move. I used the airplane and the Limited Edition from this set. I made the words into a little banner for the plane to pull. Coloured the plane with Copic Markers and cut it out and mounted over the background which is a stamp from a set called "Travel Print" Urban Stamps - Papermania. I stamped it in SU Close to Cocoa onto a coffee coloured cardstock and then distressed the edges with Tim Holtz's Vintage Photo Distress Ink, mounted it onto another piece of brown card. The sentiment is from SU "Bring on the Cake" and I stamped it with Choc Chip ink. Another one for my stash, I am on a roll with male cards at the moment. Makes a change!, LOL.

Sail Away

Hi everyone, well another weekend has finished for me and only just over two weeks to Christmas. The meat is ordered, the puddings are done, so will be just organizing the rest of the vegies etc a few days before and I still have to buy a couple of little things. Still a couple of more singing commitments and then I get some time off both from singing and craft commitments.
The card I have to share today is made using blue cardstock from stash for the base. A piece of white card stock stamped all over and distressed with Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" distress ink and gave it a few tears and folds too. A nestie and I used "Faded Jeans" distress ink to colour it. The image was stamped using SU Choc Chip, cut it out and coloured the water with the "Faded Jeans" also and added some seagulls with a black marker, I think the boat is actually under attack by these birds LOL!! I added a compass at the top and a birthday sentiment on a punched label. A couple of twists of jute with a nautical style knot in it. Another male card for my stash.

Dragon Singing Carols

It's been a lovely day today. I spent the morning trying to make some cards for my friends at the Saturday group I go to. They look like a gatefold but incorporate a little box which opens as you pull the panels apart. I forgot to scan them, but I do have one here because one of the girls didn't come today. I will try to take some photos to share tomorrow. I took some images to colour but ended up helping Judy packaging up little Christmas Tree earrings she was making to sell at the Cancer Foundation. They are made with acrylic flower beads, a few seed beads and a star. Very cute. I also made a couple of card holders. We used "Pringle" tins and took off the ends and then wound variegated wool around them. This is what holds the cards. She then decorates a piece of card to sit on the top. They are very handy to keep cards in for birthdays, Christmas, etc.
Here is today's card.
The basecard is green card from my stash. The DP is by Cosmo Cricket, Jolly by Golly: Sweater Weather. On one side it is green with snowflakes and on the other stripes, which is what I chose to use for this card.
The image is another digi freebie and is this very cute dragon carol singing. I must try and remember to type the site name next to the image when I save it. I forget and just hit save and the artist hasn't put their name on them. (Editing post thanks to Gail, she has pointed me to where this little dragon comes from) It is one from Dustin Pike: Doodle Dragon and you can find them here
I coloured the image with Copic Markers.
I stamped the sentiment in Real Red from SU onto white card and punched out with a 1" circle and then punched a 1 1/4" scalloped circle in green. The green one is adhered flat and the sentiment circle is popped up with a foam dot.

Wedding Silhouette

Rain today, but welcome after a few hot days. I had coffee with my friends Fran and Shirley. A quick trip to a craft shop with a stop at a small cafe for lunch. I came back home and had about an hours sleep as I had a headache, still croaky too, but feel I may be starting to get better. I thought about buying new sleepers for my ears as I haven't been wearing earrings much over the last few years and had trouble putting some in Wednesday night and my ears are now sore. I put my old sleepers in and there is something wrong with one of them so after coffee Fran and I popped into the jewellers opposite the cafe and asked to see some. Fran thought she might buy some too as she has the same problem. Well after turning the packet over and looking at the price tag we both did a double take and said "No Thnaks" They were $139!! - I think for that price I will put up with the ones I have and hope my ears improve quickly and then I can just put light weight hook ones in! I thought maybe they would be about $50 at the most. It has been a long time since I've bought any gold jewellery and I had my ears pierced when I was about 20, LOL, a few years ago now.
Anyway, here is the card I would like to share with you today,

The stamp is from SU set "Marry Me" and was inked in black and then I used a black Copic to go over it as the ink didn't cover all that well. Quite often I have that problem with silhouette stamps, although when I clean them there is always lots of ink still on them. The decorative corner was cut on my cuttlebug using a Marianne die. I also added some pearls to the corner, they are from SU.
The scan shows the image a bit sketchy but it does look solid in real life.

Sitting Reindeer

Not so hectic today. Although still a full day. I started off the morning attending another 2 hourlecture from the series Living with Diabetes. This time we had the dietician speaking to us explaining about what are carbohydrates, how much is a serve etc. What my Mum was told when she first got diabetes is totally different to what they are teaching now. We were told that if we had a teaspoon of sugar in our tea or coffee you could still do that and you could have a smear of jam or a piece of cake as long as it wasn't on a daily basis. I wasn't real impressed with some of the serving sizes especially the amount of pasta. Looks like I will have to retrain my stomach to eat smaller meals. I have been cutting down on a lot of things already!
A quick stop at the shop to pick up some lunch and something for the girls for their afternoon tea. My friend dropped me off and I arranged a table and chairs in the family room so we could have the air-conditioner because it was about 31C today.
Tea out with friends at the local pub and as I had no choir practise, we spent a little bit more time sitting and talking.
My son and DIL dropped his motorbike off here as he had trouble with it today, so I got to say hello to the grandchildren as they sat in the car for five minutes. Little Isaac was nearly asleep but held on to my finger and I got half a smile.

I've made another Christmas card, are you getting sick of them yet?
This one is on a SU Real Red cardbase, DP could also be SU but not sure. once they are cut up, it's anyone's guess who made it LOL.
The little reindeer is another freebie digi and was coloured with Copic Markers, cut out and mounted onto a Nellie Snellen diecut and then onto a square of Real Red.
The sentiment is another one of the lovely colourful rub-ons I had hiding in my stash and I used a border punch on one side trimmed it and mounted onto a piece of Real Red, The silver sparkly ribbon came from a free gift of a shopping bag from the Adelaide council when we attended the concert at the Town Hall on Tuesday, they were wrapped up a bit like christmas crackers. So, a bit of recycling!

Dragon Birthday Greetings

Hi everyone, another long full day today and yes I was still croaking but managed to get through my solo sections this morning without sounding like a frog on a lily pad!! I was no better tonight but had lots of other choir members around me so it didn't matter if I didn't sing very loud. There was a lot of community singing of carols so didn't use much voice doing those, saved myself, LOL, for the choir pieces and descants in the carols. We had Wes Carr as a guest artist, he won Australia's got Talent Show a few years ago and his grandma passed away at the hospice earlier in the year and her favourite song was "Moon River" so he played the keyboard and sang that.
They gave us supper, so we did literally sing for our supper. Very well catered for and I did leave the sweets alone. Two lots of party food in one day is just too much.
So, it's nearly midnight and I want to get this posted so here is the card I would like to share today,
I think I have used SU Certainly Celery and Wild Wasabi (or might have been Kiwi Kiss)
I cut out a topnote and embossed using a cuttlebug folder. The dragon came from Doodle Pantry and I'm not sure whether it was a freebie or one I bought! I coloured it with 4 different green Copic Markers. I also used one of my alphabet dies to cut the flower and the numbered circle. I used a glaze pen to colour inside the number 3. I added the sentiment inked in Hunter Green.

3D Roses with paper embroidery

Hi everyone. I seemed to have picked up a sore throat. The Lord Mayor's Gala Concert was today and there were about 38 from our choir that sang. We were first on and sang a fanfare and 2 Christmas Carols and another Christmas song - I managed well until the last one and felt my voice crack so luckily I wasn't singing too loud and the other voices covered it up and it only lasted a few seconds. Just long enough for me to feel bad though! Nobody else noticed not even the girl standing next to me. One of my friends and I asked if we could go upstairs and sit in on the rest of the concert and they said okay, so we got to see it for free. I had a very late lunch!
I took the bus home from town, a very rare thing for me and was surprised at how much I had to pay for a 10 minute bus ride.
Out again for another rehearsal tonight and we have a charity performance at a hospice tomorrow. They have it every year to remember all the patients that have passed away there. Relatives and friends of the patients attend. They have a ceremony out of the front of the hospital where they light up one of the big trees and a soloist sings. Very moving. They have the police there and they close off the road for a short time. My friend and I are also singing at our Wednesday Craft breakup concert too tommorrow morning. I hope the voice is up to it as we are each singing a verse in one song and unison in the other.
Well onto today's card.
Basecard is red card from stash and the topper is white card and I have stitched a swirly pattern on it and added a 3D roses topper piece that I put together a while back and hadn't used.

With All My Love

Another day nearly finished here, only a few minutes before midnight, I hope I don't turn into a punpkin. I'm definitely ready for sleep.
Had a quiet morning, did some washing and then spoke to Mum on the phone. I went and picked her up and we went down to one of our local hospitals to meet her sister (my aunty) who was down from the country for an appointment. We had lunch with her and then left and went to another friends for a quick catch up and then back to Mum's to drop her off and then home to meet my daughter. She had rung and said she wanted to go shopping so we went and bought a few more Christmas presents. A late meal and a bit of relaxation in front of the square box and then sat down to make a card,
The cardbase is SU Peach Parfait and the DP is from My Mind's Eye. I tore a piece of white card and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa, also did the DP and did some faux stitching with a white Gel Pen. I stamped the torn piece with a stamp from Urban Stamps - Botanical print by docrafts Papermania. I used Choc Chip for the stamping and also used a little butterfly from the same set and coloured with an orange Copic Marker and adhered to the front. The little girl is from Simply Gorjuss and is called Rose. She is also coloured with Copic Markers and put on with foam dots for some added depth.

Fresh Apples

Hi everyone, an update on my grandson, he was discharged today from hospital and has recovered. He will have to have a blood test to see if they can see what caused his severe reaction. The girls came with us to the choir luncheon and then back here for about an hour and then hubby took them home to save our son and DIL coming out again.
I am again late after some more cooking. So will get on with my post.
By the way, Margaret, wanted to know who made the sentiment I used on yesterday's card. They are called miniMARKS Christmas Book One - American Crafts. I bought these several years ago on sale and they have been sitting in my stash since then so not sure if they are still available. The Merry Christmas sat one word over the other and I cut it out before rubbing it on so I could get it in one line.
The card I am sharing tonight is another Male card for my stash, the cardbase is SU Soft Suede and both DP's are from My Mind's Eye. The image is from SU set Countryside and was coloured with Copic Markers. Stamped onto white cardstock and I cut around it. The little sentiment is from SU set You're a Gem.

Snowman with Trees

Hi everyone, wow it is so late. I'm still sitting up with Christmas Puddings steaming away on the stove - 5 of them! I now know why they are taking so long to cook. Silly me forgot to put the lids on and have only just realized it after about 5 hours cooking!!!!! What a silly thing to do. I suppose I have a reason.
Hubby came home just as I was doing all the mixing and he had been up at our daughter's. Some of the kids had got together and had a combined garage sale so he had gone to that. He went and bought some drink and it was suggested to get some icecreams too. They were ones that have a bit of honeycomb through them and coated with chocolate and little bits of biscuit. My son gave his 6 month old a little bit of the icecream and about 3 mins later his lips all swelled up and it was a mad dash to the emergency department of the hospital. I think they gave him adrenalin and he has had to be admitted overnight so they can keep an eye on him. Not sure but he must have had an allergic reaction to something and a pretty rapid one at that. So I was a bit distracted worrying about little bubs. He drove back up to my daughter's as she had the two girls whilst Mum and Dad were at the hospital and now we have them here. So a bit makeshift on the sleepwear but they are tucked up in bed.
So I have only just sat down to make my card, 5 puddings, 1 chocolate cheesecake slice and 1 zucchini slice later!
Well here it is,
The basecard is one of the SU blues and I've also used it and Kiwi Kiss (SU) for the two decorative corners. The DP on the bottom is from 3 bugs in a rug - Let it Snow, Candy Stripe and I've also used another piece of the Snow Much Fun - Christmas trees from the same company. I used a piece of white that I tore one edge and inked around with SU Ballet Blue. The sentiment is a rub-on and the snowman is a freebie from Beccy. I cut him out and then coloured the edge with a blue Copic marker and coloured the scarf, hat and ornament and added some glitter on the ornament and hat.

Two Door Chevvy

Well, this week has gone so fast I hardly had time to register it! I wrapped a couple of presents and put under the tree today, we are giving our son and DIL some money towards a trampoline with the net around it for our granddaughters for Christmas but still wanted them to have some something to open so just small things like a book, socks, knickers and a top. I wrapped them individually so they have more fun opening them.
I've actually finished my card early tonight so I might have an early night as well.
I decided to make a card for a male as I don't have too many of them in my stash.
The basecard is real red cardstock from SU, the DP came with a magazine and is called Celebrate by teresa collins. I used layers of real red and black offset them on the front of the card and then added the image. It is from Kaisercraft - a set of clear stamps called On The Move. I inked the car in SU Basic Grey and coloured with Copic Markers and added some small black bling to the corners.

Boy Holding Christmas Banner

Hi everyone, hope you have been enjoying your day. Mine has been another long one. I started off with picking up a friend and driving down to the Diabetic Association for a two hour session to learn a bit more about Diabetes. I was diagnosed around about April and my friend is borderline at this stage. Next week they have the dietician telling us about what we should be doing and I'm not sure what is on in the last week. I dropped her off and then went to craft where my little group were meeting to go off for lunch and a trip to a couple of craft shops. Our break-up party, as some of the gals can't come in our last couple of weeks. We were late coming back so I only had about 20 mins home before going out for a meal with my hubby and another couple of friends. I dropped Adrian home and then went into town for choir practice, home again a couple of hours later, watched a little bit of tv and then got stuck into making this card, Oh, LOL, I fed the dogs too, I've let them outside for a bit and will let them back in so they can go to bed soon.
So here it is!
The cardbase is SU Real Red and the green card is from stash. I used several sizes of Nestie circles and the DP is from a freebie mini stack of papers. The image was also a freebie digi but I'm sorry I forgot where I got it, so if you know whose it is let me know so I can give them credit. I coloured with Copic Markers and used a glaze pen to go over the banner word. I used a rub-on sentiment and some little star shaped bling to finish it off.
I would like to enter this into Annabelle Stamps Challenge #044 - which is a sketch challenge this time.
