To My Friend

Hi everyone, wow another weekend is over and the past week just flew past so quickly. Next weekend is the Annual Christmas Pageant, a big parade with lots of floats, clowns, bands etc. and of course Father Christmas comes to town with lots of families lining the sides of the roads that the pageant winds around in the city. I'm fairly sure my two granddaughters will be there waiting for Father Christmas to come in his sleigh. I really don't want to think about Christmas yet!
I met my daughter's boyfriend's mum today and caught up with his dad and partner, whom I had already met, also met his 80 year old grandma and an uncle too. It was his Mum's birthday recently so that was the occasion and she had been asking to meet us.
I even wore a dress for the occasion. LOL, I'm usually always in jeans!

My card for today was made with another Lili of the Valley freebie - they are beautiful images!Again coloured with Copics - I rounded the corners and matted with blue card. The basecard is from SU and out of a mixed pack of card called Earth Elements. The DP on top of that is from DCWV Linen Closet matstack and the next couple of layers I've used orange card and another piece of the light brown, could be creamy caramel. I used the same piece of DP which was blue with white polka dots and I coloured the dots on each to match the colours I used in my image, then I matted them onto the two panels of card, I added a sentiment from SU set Friendly Phrases and mounted that and the image panel with foam dots.

Little Boy Hugging Knees

Oh, I know I'm not very inventive with my post titles! but welcome to my blog today. Hope you find something here to interest you.
I went to the Craft Fair and found another little stamp stall that I missed on Thursday, but decided not to buy any more stamps. There were a couple of little boxed sets with teddies and hedgies that were very cute, but they were very small images. The other one that did tempt me was one with teddy bear parts that you could have put together and made a moveable image. I thought about it and even came back to it after a while but decided against it. I did buy another couple of punches as I thought I would probably get more use out of them.
Well here is my card and I'm still using some of Shirley's gift paper and card. This is card 4 and I have only a sliver of green left now but still some more of the DP.It's also another square card! I don't normally make them because they cost more to post.
The base is the blue card I used previously (also the last sheet so I have enough to make one more card) I layered some of the DP and then made a topper with the green textured card, punched with one of my new Martha Stewart punches - another layer of blue and DP. I stamped the image (a clear stamp from Prima Marketing) onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers, cut it out and adhered it to the white diecut. I used an olive Marvy Marker to make a line of faux stitching. I used 3 different circles and cut white card, DP and blue for the sentiment which comes from SU Petite Pairs, I finished off with some little acrylic square stickers for the corners.

Chasing Butterflies

Hi, welcome again to my small piece of blogland, was out again today with friends crafting and coloured some images so have got some more up my sleeve for future cards. The weekend is nearly here. Some of my friends and I are going off to the craft show tomorrow, (same one I went to on Thursday but different friends) probably this time will be looking at the bead stalls and not so much the papercraft ones. One of the little stamps I bought I will have to take back it is a clear stamp and I had to pull really hard to try and get it off the acetate backing, it has actually torn the stamp. Hopefully they will replace it. If I wasn't going again I suppose I would just have to lump it as they are interstate companies and I can't remember their business name.
Well, the card I am sharing is no. 3 card made with the DP and textured card Shirley gave me. There's not much left of the A4 card but I still have more of the DP so I can probably still make more. Shirley, you didn't realise how resourceful I am, ha, ha, ha!!!
I've again used a Blue (possibly SU) as the basecard as I think it goes really well with the DP and green card. I used a Martha Stewart picket fence border punch and wrapped a piece of green and white gingham ribbon around it. The image is a freebie and is from Lili of the Valley - a pack of 20 images that came with a magazine and they are all lovely! I coloured it with Copic Markers and added a little ladybug in the right hand corner to tie in with the sentiment from SU which also has a little ladybug above the "T" I cut the image out with a nestie label and sponged the edges with Close to Cocoa.

Poinsettia Christmas

A quick post as I wanted to enter a card into the Annelbelles Stamps Bling Sketch Challenge and it finishes very soon. So, LOL. No ChitChat.
My basecard is SU Not Quite Navy and the DP is from DCWV Linen closet matstack and I'm not sure if it shows but it is glittery embossed paper. I've used a red ribbon with gold trim another layer of the Not Quite Navy and I've stamped this poinsettia onto white card with Cherry Cobbler (SU) and then coloured using a blender pen. I then went over the veins with a sparkly gelly roll pen to give it a bit of glitz. I finished off with 3 red bling at the bottom of the image. I also distressed the edges of the stamped piece and then also ink distressed with Not Quite Navy ink.

Flowers For You

Good evening from my home to yours, it's been a long day. I had tickets to a craft fair this morning and spent several hours perusing the different stalls. There were only 3 proper cardmaking stalls, lots of quilting and beading stalls. I did get a few bits and pieces but no little character stamps, they were mostly backgrounds and a few little animals and some Christmas, lots of stamps to make scenes, e.g. lakes, trees, grass and so on. I did get one of an elephant on a motorbike!
I went with Jane and she rushed back and dropped me off. I got my stamping gear organised and then drove over to her house for our weekly Thursday group. Most of the others couldn't come except Joyce and she has been on holidays for a month, so was nice to catch up. Jane had to leave to have a medical test so left us at her house. We had afternoon tea and packed up and closed her house up for her.
Back home, washed a load of work clothes for my hubby. We go out for tea on Thursdays with Joyce and her husband, my youngest son had rung earlier and told me that he, his girlfriend, her son and my number 2 son were going to come out with us. So.. had to ring the hotel and book 4 extra seats. About an hour later no. 2 daughter rings up and asks if she and her boyfriend could come out with us, So... another phone call to the hotel to see if we could get more seats. Luckily they weren't too busy and our regular table grew from 4 seats to 9! I decided not to go our for choir practise so brought the washing in, watched some tv and played around making my card for today,
This is it!
The basecard is blue, same one I used yesterday and I've also used the scraps of the green card from Shirley, so this is number two card made from her gift of card.
I used DP from a DCWV matstack called Linen Closet. The image is from Annabelle Stamps and I bought it with a voucher that I won. The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I stamped the little girl in Close to Cocoa. I didn't stamp the whole image as I didn't want to make my square any bigger, so you can only see part of her boots. I coloured her with Copics. Added a little butterfly and a button with bakers twine bow.

Baubles in Blue

Hi everyone, a lovely day here in Adelaide. I went off to craft today and my new lady on my table didn't turn up, maybe she wasn't well. I still had two others to teach and I am hoping she doesn't turn up next week wanting to make today's card, because we are moving on to something new. I spent a fairly quiet afternoon at home and made a pasta slice for tea, I used Fettucine as the base and then a meat sauce and on top of that Bechamelle sauce, topped with grated cheese. It is always a big favourite with our family. I made two dishes so I rang up our middle son and offered one to him. He came on his way home from work and managed to get the dish to fit inside the space under his motorbike seat (it was pretty snug) and he only lives 5 minutes away from us so it wasn't going to be in there very long! There is still plenty left for hubby to snack on and any of the kids who pop in when you least expect them. They all have keys so it is not unusual to be sitting here and here a key turn in the front door!
Onto my card for today, my friend Shirley gave myself and Fran the choice of a piece of textured card and a designer paper but we had to come up with something using them. Well this is mine, I still have more left so will probably do another card later on. I chose the green card and this lovely pale blue DP with green swirly lines on it. The blue card is from stash (could be SU from a mixed pack) The little ornaments were stamped in Brilliant Blue ink (SU) onto white card and then cut out. I used some border stickers to make the hanging cords and then adhered the ornaments onto the paper. The stamps were a free set which came with a magazine. The Merry Christmas came from SU Holidays and Wishes also stamped in Brilliant Blue.
Hope you like how I used your gifts, Shirley, will try to remember to bring to class next Tuesday.

Black & White Christmas

Adelaide Cup Day today, I don't follow the races, so I didn't watch the race. Mr friend and I went off to Shirley's for class today and normally we have lunch together, but she was going to her Mum's to have lunch and watch the race together. I came home had lunch and then had a sleep as I had a bad headache. My cold is still lingering on a bit, not coughing or sneezing or anything, just feeling a bit run down.
Another singing rehearsal night that I've missed because my voice is still raspy.

I decided to make a card today to enter in the Less Is More Challenge - Week 39 - Lucky Dip, Stars.
The card base is Whisper White, (I've put black card behind for scanning purposes only, I tried to take a photo but it just didn't look right) I cut a piece of black card and punched with a Martha Stewart star border punch and tied a white sheer ribbon around it (looks cream - must be the black showing through). I glued some of the stars from the punched strip at the top of the card and finished off with a Christmas Sentiment from SU set Heard from the Heart.
