A Fairy named Ella

Welcome to my little corner of blogland, if you are stopping by, leave me a comment, I enjoy seeing who pops in and where you are from. It's amazing being able to view posts in real time not like putting a card in an envelope and having to wait sometimes 3 weeks for it to arrive!
Well, true to my post yesterday, LOL, I did do the washing! but I didn't start till late morning, I got up early, had breakfast so I could take tablets and then went back to bed for a couple of hours. I was really tired so I think it did me some good. My hubby didn't have to go in to work because he worked most of the night, but he did go off to an auction and then to sort out a couple of things in the afternoon, so I hardly saw him. Both daughters popped in today, the youngest came for some help creating something to wear for an engagement party which is masquerade. We both wear glasses which meant most of the masks don't fit around them, I found one that does, but she opted for a wide black headband and some netting and a large flower, sort of a see through mask LOL, guess who got to do the pinning, cutting and sewing!
Spent the rest of the eveining watching the "Mentalist" and CSI, and also getting some crafting done too.
My card today is on a SU, Tangerine Tango basecard, some purple card from stash, the DP is from My Mind's Eye. I added a black Nestie diecut and I've used another Wild Rose Studio stamp called "Ella With Wand". I stamped her in Close to Cocoa onto white card stock and then coloured her with Copic Markers and added some bling to her wand. I also andded an orange ribbon to the nestie to finish off.
I coloured her dress in orange (the trim is green) and also the flower in her hair, the shoes and socks are orange and purple. The scan is not showing up the true colours. The shade of orange is nearly the same as the ribbon. Isn't it strange when it shows the ribbon in true colours but not the dress! Maybe the computer doesn't like my colour choices, LOL.
I would like to enter this into Flutter By Wednesday's Challenge #177 - colour challenge, black, purple, orange and green, you also have to use an angel, fairy or butterfly on your card,
Well, thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you find something here that interests you, I know I always enjoy looking at all the creations I find on other people's blogs.
Take care,
Sandy

Mia in the Snow

Hi everyone, hope you have had a great weekend, I've enjoyed catching up with friends and crafting, looking after 2 extra dogs, morning service at church this morning and catching up with my Mum briefly.
My hubby has had a few hours sleep and gone off to work overnight - if he works all night, he will be home tomorrow.
My card today, is another Christmas card to teach at class on Wednesdays. I've used SU Real Red for the cardbase and also for the topnote diecut which I cut down to just under half and stamped the sentiment onto in Basic Black ink. I added a thin light blue ribbon to it before I adhered to the top of the card. The image is called "Mia in the Snow", another Wild Rose Studio Stamp. I've coloured her with Copic Markers and then die cut with a deckled oval nestie. I adhered it to some more real red card and then hand cut around the white shape. The background was stamped using two different snowflakes from SU set "Snow Swirled"
I would like to enter this into Christmas Inspirations Challenge 35 - use Diecuts or Punches
Well better go to bed and get some sleep, have washing to do tomorrow.
Take Care and thanks for stopping by,
Sandy

Monster Birthday

Had a good day catching up with friends at craft group, we haven't met for about a month due to our friend Judy having birthday parties to organize, a trip to Bali with her hubby and MIL! and a school fete stall to run as well. We use her house to craft at so we have all missed seeing each other - we did a fair bit of talking, but still made a few bits and pieces. I caught up with colouring a few images which means I have a few things on hand when I am in a hurry.
The card I am sharing today is a male/boy card. I don't do many of these even though I have 3 sons, I tend to make their cards at the last minute, LOL.
Well, onto the card, I've used white cardstock for the card base and sponged with SU Brilliant Blue using a mask, I added several frog images as well. The little monster is from AnnaBelle Stamps and is called "Lil Monster's Balloon" the sentiment is from the same set. I coloured the image with Copic Markers. The monster is actually a pale purple, but it is not showing up properly, Might try taking a photo tomorrow and editing the post. It's a clear stamp and gives a lovely clear image, not like some of my clear stamps. I've put a piece of paper behind the card when I scanned to help define the white edges of my card.
I would like to enter this into The Poodles Parlour Challenge - Let's Hear it For the Boys" - a male themed card.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you are enjoying your weekend,
Take Care,
Sandy

Joy at Christmas

Hello everyone, I decided to have a quiet morning at home and do some washing but the heavens burst open and it bucketed down - I went outside to watch the water pour down our street as we live on an incline. Glad I hadn't put the clothes in the machine before it started or I would have had to have put them over a rack. I had to go to the doctors this arvo to have him check up on whether I was doing the right thing with my sugar levels. I don't have to go until the New Year now, LOL, I told him I would be eating Christmas pudding which will be full of sugar! He said nobody expects me to be a saint, LOL. He has diabetes also and it's been out of control and he tells me he has to eat salads etc and it is slowly coming down. At least he can share his experience and knows how hard it can be sometimes. I don't mean really hard but it's a bit sad watching someone eating something that you enjoy and can no longer have!
Well, I was going to have an early night but time has gotten away from me because I was watching you-tube tutorials, looking for inspiration for something different to teach.
This is one of the cards I made a couple of days ago for next Wednesday's class.
The basecard is Real Red, I cut a piece off the front and then used a border punch along the edge, the DP is from stash. The panel with the bird on is scored on the right hand side and folded under the insert so it flaps over the front of the card.
Both the image and sentiment are from SU sets and I used Copics to colour the bird image,
I would like to enter this in the challenge at Little Claire's - theme is Christmas.
Thanks to all of you that regularly leave me comments, they are much appreciated,
Hope you enjoyed your visit here today,
Take Care,
Sandy

Another Fergus the Dinosaur

A lovely day today weatherwise, my daughter popped in bringing our lawn mower back, a quick trip to the shop for lunch and afternoon tea supplies and off to craft group. Just 3 of us today, but we still had fun and got some cards or parts of cards made. Even ordered a couple of things out of the Avon Catalogue, wow, I haven't bought anything out of a catalogue for well over 10 years! LOL.
Two of our sons and one future DIL came out for a meal with us tonight and then my OH and I came home to watch a bit of TV.
Anne-Marie, sorry about the cold, LOL you must have been leaning in too close to the monitor whilst I was coughing!!! You know about how computers spread viruses, right?
Well after a comment about yesterdays post I decided to make another card using Fergus and enter again into Cards for Men challenge 22 - Animals,
I thought just maybe the other one was a bit too girly so here is the "manly" version,
The basecard is SU Early Espresso, a matte of SU Creamy Caramel cardstock with a piece of DP from SU packet "Well Worn" and of course Fergus coloured in a darker "manly" colour LOL! a punched circle also Early Espresso and a smaller circle punched in Creamy Caramel with the sentiment stamped in Choc Chip ink - finished off with some bling and a ribbon.
The image is still cute though!
Well, hope you have enjoyed your day,
Thanks for stopping by,
Sandy

Fergus the Dinosaur

My catch cry could be the same as the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, "I'm late, I"m late" I'm forever just scraping in before midnight, LOL.
I have made two cards tonight but one is for my Wednesday class where I teach and I am trying to get a few weeks ahead with what I am doing so there will be no last minute panicking about what to do!
Still coughing and turned up for craft today to a chorus of "You're pale" oh well, I told them I am still not well.
Onto my card for today....
The basecard is black - card from stash, the DP is from a packet of dotty paper from one of the cheap shops and I bought it about a year ago, LOL, trying to use up some of the stash instead of hoarding it!
The image is another Wild Rose Studio Stamps called "Fergus with Tulips", I coloured with pink, green and yellow Copic Markers. I border punched the DP with a Martha Stewart punch and used a pink ribbon (also from stash). The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs, inked in Basic Black mounted onto black and then a pink scallop and popped up on foam dots.
Better get the picture in and post as getting close to midnight, don't want to turn into a pumpkin - ha, ha, ha!!
I would like to enter this into Challenge 22 - Animals over at Cards for Men
Oh, a real man won't mind the pink ribbon, will he?
Thanks for stopping by and for all the lovely comments.
Also welcome to a couple of new followers too, hope to see you from time to time.
Take care,
Sandy

Twisted Easel Card

Hello and welcome to my blog today. I would like to welcome new follower Lyn and hope you are able to drop by from time to time.
I had a reasonably good day today. I went out with a friend for lunch and a trip to a craft store. I was again supposed to be out at choir rehearsal tonight but still am not well with my cold. Coughing too much still!!
My card for today is a twisted easel card in a rectangular shape.
I have used a SU pink cardstock for the basecard and then added Kraft card, DP from SU, a piece of SU Old Olive, a DP from My Mind's Eye, another piece of pink card on which I stamped the bird image from SU Christmas set "Beautiful Season" - coloured with Copic Markers. I added a piece of pink ric-rac to the front too.
The sentiment is from the same set. I also used a Martha Gardner punch on the inside of the card.
I would like to enter this into:
Christmas Card Challenge #47 - Recipe Challenge - 2 DP's, ribbon and Bird.
Annabelle Stamps Blog Challenge - Say it in.....Pink, Green & Kraft
and also

A Letter for You

Hi everyone, another quiet day at home,I washed 1 load of hubby's clothing so he would have some work clothes. He ended up working all night and getting home about 8 a.m. this morning, which meant he had today off. He spent most of the time in bed sleeping. I made two cards for my Wednesday class to make this term, a Father Christmas topper to put on a chocolate bar, bride and groom using a heart punch and got some good ideas for a few other things.
I also made this card that I am sharing today.
The basecard is Bravo Burgundy, the DP is from stash as is the ribbon. I used a lovely silver paper and a Nellie Snellen die. the roses I made from scraps of the DP.
The fairy is another Wild Rose Studio stamp called "Lily with Letter" coloured with light purple, pink, dark purple and flesh colour Copic Markers. I used some two way glue on the wings and added some glitter.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Cutie Pie Challenge#3 - Recipe, Lilac/silver tones, Fairy image, Lace/Ribbon, Glitter, 3 buttons/flowers.
Flutterby Wednesday challenge#176 - Open - must have fairy/angel/butterfly.

Penguin Christmas Greetings

Hi everyone, well my weekend is just about over. Spent today home again as still coughing and now OH seems to be coming down with it. He is out at present working - he hopes it is not a long job as he has to still work in the morning.
My card today is another one for the Christmas stash - a cute little penguin with his arms outstretched. I coloured him with copic markers and stamped the sentiment in Basic Black. All card and DP is from stash that I've had for several years.
Thanks for stopping by,

Garden Bench

Hi everyone, well it's been a long day, I made a choc cheesecake slice for my son's birthday party and the oven was a bit too hot and burnt some of the biscuit crust so I panicked and went and bought more ingredients and made another one and got it right. I ended up cutting all the outside pieces off the first one and it was fine, no burnt taste so now I had two slices. Well, took them both and all the other bits and pieces I had to take, salad ingredients, bowls, spoons, mixer, cream etc. and the evening went well. I've been up since 5.30 a.m. so I'm tired. I left his birthday card home! Arrived home and my OH went next door as our neighbours had invited us for a 60th birthday party, I decided I had already done enough partying but Adrian decided he better make an appearance.
So, here is my card which I've made since getting home tonight, LOL.
The image is called "Simple Pleasures" from Paperbagstudios and was stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler. I first cut the white piece and scored it to make a grid and then stamped over the top. You can see the white spaces between the image. I then mounted it onto a piece of Early Espresso. I cut three panel of 2 different DP's from My Mind's Eye and mounted onto SU River Rock cardstock and adhered these panels onto the front of the card. The image was mounted using foam dots.
I would like to enter this into The Pink Elephant Challenge TPE121 - The theme is to use scoring in a project or card.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend,
Thanks for stopping by,

Motorbike Birthday Card

Hi, everyone, I am slowly starting to feel a bit better, still coughing and having headaches and tired but feel like there might be light at the end of the tunnel LOL.
It is our youngest son's birthday today and he is having a party tomorrow to celebrate. I have to make a dessert and a large salad to take. I did manage to go to the shop this afternoon and just quickly grab what I needed to make them. He and his girlfriend popped in for a while tonight. Adrian has to work tomorrow, so he went to bed a while ago and I am going to finish this post and do the same.
I would also like to welcome new follower Sid and also ask Judie if she could let me know if she has a new blog - I can't seem to find a link and I know you've been missing for a while and saw a change on your comment name.
Well, I decided to use the sketch over at Come and Get It Challenges for my card so will be entering the challenge there this week.
I've used a bright blue cardstock for my basecard and then a selection of blue toned DPs. I think this diecut was a Nellie Snellen cut in the same blue. I've used another sentiment from SU Petite Pairs. The motorbike is from Wild Rose Studios and was stamped in Basic Grey and coloured with Copics and Marvy Markers. The sentiment was inked with Cherry Cobbler from SU. I used my Cropodile to put an eyelet in the bottom Left Hand corner and attatch a little gold motorbike charm. I've also used some twine around the bottom of the card too.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend,
Take Care,
Sandy

For the New Mr. & Mrs.

Hi, my second post for today as I wanted to enter into
Say It With...Embellished Corners which is the Challenge over at Annabelle Stamps Blog
Well, I'll get straight into sharing,
The base card is another maroon card, and I've also used a lilac card both from stash. The DSP is from FabScraps called "Heritage small floral" The image was stamped on to "Kula Cream" card and coloured with Copic Markers, The sentiment is from SU "Petite Pairs" and stamped with SU Cherry Cobbler. and edged with a marker. The two decorative corners were cut with a Nellie Snellen Die using SU Natural Ivory. I punched the other two corners with a punch. It's not a card I would use for a formal wedding, maybe something casual or even a second wedding.
Hope this meets the criteria,
Thanks for stopping by,
Take care,
Sandy

I hear Life's been a bit of a Pill

Hi all, an early post as I am stuck at home with my cold and can't go to craft this afternoon.
I thought I would try another card for the challenge over at Less Is More - Week 36
Another week and another challenge, the theme for which is - COCKTAIL
Mandi and Chrissie said let your imagination run, so I did.
I've based my card on a "Pill Cocktail". I googled for pill containers and came up with this image which I printed out onto card and coloured with Copics. I also embossed a border around 4 sides of the front. It doesn't show very well. I then came up with the sentiment and typed into a Word document and printed out as well. On the inside of the card I have adhered a white topnote diecut and the words "Hope you're feeling Better real Soon".
Thanks for looking,
Take Care

Here's To You

A very warm, windy day today, I again had to skip craft and send my apologies as I am the teacher - Still not well, my temperature has been going up and down all day, my OH took pity on me and again cooked the meat outside on the barbeque and peeled the vegies and cooked them too, all I had to do was eat, I only ate about half as am feeling a little bit off food but have to eat to take the diabetes tablets.
Well onto something more interesting like craft, LOL.
Over at Less is More:

Another week and another challenge, the theme for which is

COCKTAIL

You Are Made Of Fascination, Energy, and Vitality

3 parts Fascination
2 parts Energy
1 part Vitality

And a Splash of Sass

Serve over ice

They suggested we enter our name and see what our own cocktails would be. LOL don't much feel much of the above at the moment!

Well here is the card I made for this challenge
I've used a maroon card base and embossed two lines on the left side and put 5 pale green bling in the middle of them. The image is from Creative Expressions, "Wrinkles Don't Hurt" and the sentiment is from SU set "Friendly Phrases" I coloured with Copic Markers and I used a Marvy marker for the hair. The sentiment is stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler.

I also wanted to mention some blog candy here, you need to become a follower and enter with a comment before 30th October to be eligible for the draw.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for the Get Well Wishes, much appreciated,

Pickle the Penguin.

LOL, no, no, no, this is not some strange recipe for preserving penguins! This cutie is another stamp from Wild Rose Studios! and his name is Pickle, the stamp is actually called Pickle with Poinsettia.
I have a full blown cold, headache, runny nose and sneezing and coughing fits, I was going to go to craft this morning at Shirley's house, but after waking up like this I thought it wouldn't be fair to anyone else to spread my germs, so I had a very quiet day at home. I stayed in my pj's until about 11 a.m. and haven't been further afield than our letterbox. I was supposed to go to choir practise tonight they had two conductors auditioning and then we can write who we would prefer, we have had both of them helping us this year and I prefer the male conductor to the older woman conductor, I just couldn't get there. I do hope she doesn't get it, it used to be something I looked forward to each week, but she does not make it fun.
Adrian's hand continues to improve and he now has nearly all the mobility back but it is still fairly tender.
Running late again with my posting, so here is my card,
It is on red card from SU, stripey paper from stash, polka dot ribbon from stash and some acrylic dots - I coloured the image with Copics and stamped the greeting from a new set of word stamps from SU.
I would like to enter this into Crafting When We Can - Christmas challenge
Simon Says Stanp and Show - challenge is to use stripes

Thanks so much for dropping in and all those fab comments that you leave,

Lady with Wine

Welcome to my blog today, hope you have had a good day, it's after 11.30 p.m. here, I've just let the dogs out for a little while before I put them to bed! It's been a lovely day today and again I thought I had better wash so Adrian will have some work clothes this week!! His hand is still swollen but he tells me it is feeling better and he can move it a bit more, so maybe a bad sprain after all.
Well better get on and tell you about the card I made today or it will be tomorrow before I get it posted.
The basecard is a lilac colour and I've used red card for the matte and also the two strips which I punched with an Martha Stewart Punch. The circle was punched with and EK Success punch. The image is from Wild Rose Studios and is called "Lady with Wine".
I stamped her with SU Basic Grey and coloured with Copic Markers. The skin is a bit darker than I normally make because my lighter skin tone has died!
I have used a sketch for this card and I would like to enter it in
Quixotic Inspirations Sketch Challenge where you can find the sketch
I would like to enter it also into
Make It Monday - Challenge #59 - Anything Goes
Well, thanks for stopping by, and I love reading your comments and popping back when time permits,

Christmas Hospitality

Hi everyone, it just feels like yesterday that I was saying about the start of a new week and here we are again. I'm going to have to start thinking about making the Christmas Puddings! - last year I left them to the last week and that was a bit stressful spending a whole evening watching different size puddings and making sure to take them off as they all had different cooking times.
Went to church this morning and we sang a song called Clap Your Hands All Ye People, and LOL we actually had a few people clap at the end, they don't normally clap in church, so they must have liked it.
Spent the afternoon with Jane and Shirley (Doug and the dog Jackie too) making up 3 lovely cards that Shirley designed for us, a fun afternoon.
I left Adrian home and 2 of our sons came over to watch the motorbike GP race and have a barbecue. It was all over by the time I got home.
We had a scratch tea as Adrian only wanted something light.
I decided to make another Christmas card tonight using this whacky little "Mrs. Claus" image that I found on e-bay. I stamped it onto a Nestie Diecut and then mounted onto 2 circle diecuts - added some holly and berries that I stamped and coloured with Copics, The stamp was a freebie from a set that came with a recent magazine I bought. I then thought it needed something else to out came the Cuttlebug and found my Marianne Poinsettia Dies and made 2 different size flowers, a bright Christmassy DP and a ribbon with a printed "Merry Christmas" already on it to finish it off,
I would like to enter this into the Papertake Weekly Challenge - Get into Shape, - you have to use 3 shapes and the cardbase can count as one, I've used a rectangular cardbase, circles, a nestie label die cut (and also the flowers are shaped diecuts too)
So hope you had a fabulous weekend and are now refreshed for the coming week.
Take Care,
Sandy

Wrinkles Don't Hurt!

Hi all, I went to a small craft show today, it was part of a larger Home and Garden Show. They only had two stalls for papercrafts and I did find some lovely stamps that weren't very expensive. I've used one on tonight's card. I was standing at one of the stalls next to a lady and I wasn't really paying attention to her and she wasn't looking at me and then it hit me that it was one of my friend's from the group I go to on Saturdays. LOL. We have had to have a break for several weeks because Judy, our hostess, has been away and busy with parties and fetes etc.I must have just noticed her out of the corner of my eye. So Helen, it was good to see you and meet your friends too.
More news on Adrian for those who are interested or know him, he went off to work this morning with his hand still very swollen and did a full day's work. The person that organised the cad drawings for the building got it wrong and the beams they were installing were cut wrong, someone is not going to be happy after paying for a crane and two workers for a whole day. So they don't have to work tomorrow so he will be able to rest his hand. He is digging in his heels about going to have it checked out and is hoping it is a sprain, but I still think he has broken something. I told him his hand looks like "Shrek's" it is very chubby indeed!
So onto my card!
I've used SU's Early Espresso for the base card, the DP is from a mini stack called Londonerry and I sponged around it with SU Close to Cocoa. The stamp is called "Granny Relaxing" from Wild Rose Studio and I coloured her with Copics, she's really got grey hair, but I gave her a dye job as she's trying to look younger, LOL!! The sentiment is from a set called "Wrinkles Don't Hurt" by Creative Expressions. I'm a bit sad because the Copic Marker I use for the skin tones has run dry and I can't get it refilled any time soon because the shop that does it is closed Monday and Tuesdays and I am busy for most of the rest of the week. So looks like I might have to break out the watercolour paints again!
I would like to enter this into Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 56 - Anything Goes
Make It Monday #59 - Anything Goes
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, it always seems to go a bit quiet here in blogland from Friday on.
So thanks to those who are popping in, I need to spend some time visiting you too,
Catch ya later,
Take Care,
Sandy

Little Ballerinas

Well today is just about over here in Adelaide, we've had a fair bit of rain and then sunshine. My concert performance tonight went off fairly well, although the men in the choir made a couple of glaring mistakes in a crucial part of one of the songs. Oh well, I think people still enjoyed themselves.
More news on my husband's accident, he went to work today and when he came home his hand was all swollen so he possibly could have broken it, I wanted to take him for an x-ray but he is working all weekend and just wanted to go to bed to sleep, He is doing manual work so he has it strapped at the moment. He has only just started at this place after being out of work for a while so it is not a good time to have a broken hand and he is not always very good about getting things looked at.
On to my card! I've used a navy blue basecard from my card stash and layered with 2 different DP's - the sentiment is from a See-D's set of birthday stamps.I inked it cut it out and then matted with pink card and again cut around it. The image is a stamp from Stamp-It and is called "Pretty Ballerinas" I coloured the image with Copic markers, added a piece of pink ribbon with white polka dots and a little felt flower with some punched leaves to finish it off.
I would like to enter this into One Stop Craft Challenge - Week #152 - Anything goes
and also Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 56 - Anything Goes
Make It Monday Challenge #59 - Anything Goes
Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have found something to interest you. Please feel free to leave a comment and a link to your blog too.

Wicked Witch of the West

Hello everyone, another late night, another choir practise, (different choir, LOL)
and my husband went to see our granddaughter for her birthday on his motorbike and on his way home he got distracted by someone and had a low speed collision into the back of a vehicle, so that has upset him, no insurance on the bike!
It's been another lovely day weather-wise and after taking the youngest granddaughter home for the birthday party, I raced back (hey, I did obey the speed limit) and made myself some lunch and organised some craft bits and pieces and drove over to Jane's for the afternoon, forgot to take my diabetes medication with my lunch and remembered too late to take it. My reading tonight wasn't too bad though so must have eaten the right things today, LOL.
Anyway, onto my card for today, it's another Halloween card as that's what a lot of the challenges are about at the moment,
I've used a black basecard, SU elegant eggplant (I think) and some orange stripey DSP from stash. Stamps are from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps - Halloween Fun, I stamped the shoes and fussy cut around them, layered one flat and raised the other, I used several punched circles for the sentiment. The image is from a sheet of DSP from Graphic 45 - The Magic of Oz Collection, I'm limited on stamps for this theme as we don't celebrate it. I've also used a photo corner punch to embellish two corners and added bling to it.
I would like to enter this into the Come and Get It Challenge - Happy Halloween Challenge - it's my second entry.
Would also like to enter it into Paper Pretties blog Challenge, PWC175 - hope it meets the criteria as I haven't used a stamp for the main image but the shoes and sentiment are stamped.
also The Lollipop Ladies Challenge#31 - Photo Inspiration - Boogeyman Lollipops with the additional theme of Halloween.
Well better press publish before the clock strikes midnight and I turn into a pumpkin, ha, ha,
Thanks for popping in,
Take Care,
Sandy

Trimming the Tree

Hi everyone, well another day has flown past and the march towards Christmas is becoming quicker. It was a lovely Spring day here and with no craft classes to go to because of holiday break, I managed to catch up on most of the washing. Our granddaughter has ended up staying again tonight as everyone is still not well at home and it is her sister's 7th birthday tomorrow and party preparations are in full swing. I will take her home in the morning so she can be at the party which is in the afternoon.
I decided to make a Christmas card today as I came across a blog that does Christmas challenges using sketches.
So here is mine for Christmas Challenges (with sketches) - Challenge #11 You need to visit the blog to see the sketch as it is part of the rules not to reproduce it on our blogs.
I would also like to enter it into Christmas Card Challenges - week #45 which is a photo inspiration challenge. I hope my card fits the criteria.
I started with a red basecard and added some christmas paper from stock - I cut two circular shapes, one from white card and the other from the paper. I've used a zig-zag punch with little hearts in red and the image and sentiment are from a free set of stamps that came with a magazine and they are from Ladybug Crafts Ink. I stamped in SU Choc Chip and coloured with Marvy Markers, I used two different oval punches and sponged the red oval with choc chip to give a bit more definition against the background. I've added 3 punched snowflakes which I coloured the tips a little bit with a blue copic marker and added some light blue bling,
Hope you find it interesting,
Thanks for stopping by and for all those wonderful comments,
Sandy

Happy Birthday Bird

Hi all, I was really late home from choir tonight, Adrian had put our granddaughter to bed for me, so she was sound asleep when I walked in at 11 p.m. He was in bed but still awake and I thought I'd better hurry up and make this card, I knew I wanted to use this DP which is the flip side of the KaiserCraft paper I used on yesterday's card. I used a chocolate brown cardstock for the basecard, layered the DP over it and then stamped the bird from SU set Punch Potpourri, I stamped it twice so I could cut the wing out of the same pattern, it was inked in Close to Cocoa and then choc chip ink sponged around the edges of the bird and wing. The sentiment was stamped and sponged with Choc Chip ink and comes from SU set Perfect Punches. I added a small brown pearl for the bird's eye.

Truly remarkable

Well, here I am again up late as usual, my OH is sleeping in the spare room as our granddaughter is here and is sleeping in our bed with me. She tends to kick him in the back LOL so he decided he might as well start off in the other bed instead of getting up in the middle of the night and moving. She's only 3 so it's easier to have her sleep in our bed.
I went to my son and DIL's to pick her up today, it's about an hours drive away. They all have colds, so hoping not to pick it up! Stayed for lunch with them and then came home. Adrian didn't know she was coming so she hid and surprised him and then they played some matching card games and did a couple of jigsaws and then Hungry Hippo, that is so noisy!!!
Anyway I did make a card.
I've used Kula Cream which is a very pale coffee colour as the base card and then DP from KaiserCraft - Le Chateau Collection, a Nellie Snellen die cut and the image and sentiment are from Elegant Ladies - Creative Expressions.
I stamped the sentiment with Close to Cocoa and the lady with Basic Grey and then coloured her with Copics, To finish off I added some red bling to the die cut.
The scan is not quite true to colour, the dress etc are more red, I tried a couple of photos but they were a bit bland.
I would like to enter this into Make It Monday #58 - Anything goes
and also Anything Goes Challenge Blog Challenge 51 - Die Cuts, Punches or both.
Thanks for stopping by and for all the wonderful comments too.

Happiness

Welcome to my corner of blogland, hope you have all enjoyed your weekend. We had sunshine for most part of today after a night of rain and a couple of early morning showers. Today being Sunday, found me sitting in the choir stalls at church, and enjoying the sermon our minister preached. A cup of tea afterwards and then home to pick up my craft gear and then out again to pick up my friend Jane and drive out to Shirley's to make 3 of her delightful cards. I dropped Jane home and thought I had better pop into the shop and pick up something to cook for tea as I forgot to take something out of the freezer (LOL, a bad habit of mine!)
Then a bit of tv while fiddling around with my stamps.
Today's card was made to enter the challenge at Crafting When We Can
BINGO CARD CHALLENGE.
If you are unsure how the bingo card works, let me explain... You need to use at least 3 items off the bingo card below, however these need to be in a line either horizontally, vertically or diagonally. For example you could use flower, distressing and 2 images which takes it horizontally in the middle row. If you are confused please comment or email for further advice.
Here is the bingo card.
I chose the middle 3 going down, a Happy Sentiment, Distressing and Pearls.
So this is what I came up with,
The base card is SU Not Quite Navy, a pale tan coloured card from stash, I distressed it and sponged the edges with blue ink, the DP is from Londonerry paper stack and I distressed this also and sponged with SU Purely Pomegranite. The diecut is a Nellie Snellen which you can fold back the cuts to make a pattern, but I liked it unfolded. The sentiment is inked in SU Choc Chip and comes from TPC Studio - Playful Expressions. I stamped it again and cut the flower out and pieced it over the original to give it a bit of depth.
Thanks for popping in to see what I've been up to today.
Take care,
Sandy

Hand Held Heart

Hi everyone, hope your weekend is going well and you are all getting some relaxation time as well as getting to some of those jobs that just need doing! My daughter came over to bring her dogs again for another stay as the gardener for the house she rents was spraying poison on the weeds today and she didn't want the dogs eating any of it and they also have a party there tomorrow and usually everyone gives the dogs tidbits and they end up sick from eating too much. We ended up going out for a while to get a few groceries and then back here for lunch. I had a very short snooze probably about 15 mins as the dogs kept barking outside, had a couple of phonecalls and then decided to make a card for the Less Is More Challenge - week 36 - the theme is hearts, singular or plural and it has to be a one layer card.
So, this is what I came up with. The stamp is one I bought about 3 years ago, it came with some others that I wanted and I've never inked it up. In fact, I had to clean it first as there was dried blue ink all over one side of the image. It doesn't have a name but is made by Inkadinkado. I inked it in Chocolate Chip SU ink onto Whisper White cardstock and then coloured with Copics - I added the greeting in Basic Grey. I've taken a photo as the scan didn't come up very well. The left hand side of the heart is a very dark brown and looks black in the photo, just can't win, LOL.
Well I might just dawdle back and start something else for tomorrow's post!
Catch you later,
Take Care,
Sandy

Trick or Treat

Hello everyone, hope you are all geared up for another weekend, the days seem to be flying past and I even had someone ask whether a certain date would be suitable for our choir Christmas get together!
I tried to do a bit more organizing in my craft room today, I have boxes everywhere and stamps too! I'd like to pull them all out and stick in the dining room but with my OH home now I can't do that, it's really hard to put things away if you can't actually get to the cupboards to sort them out! Oh well, one box at a time, LOL.
My youngest daughter called in after work today and I got her to put a hair dye in for me, I have quite dark brown hair so I've lightened it, it's always nice to have a change.
Well, whilst sorting things out in my room I came across my Halloween stamps and thought I would make a card to enter
Come and Get It Challenge for this week which is Happy Halloween Challenge.
The basecard is SU from one of the mixed packs, it's orange but I don't think it is pumpkin pie, the purple cardstock is from stash and this lovely paper is from a mini paper stack called Londonerry collection. I used 6 stamps from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps called Halloween Fun, I stamped them with SU Basic Grey and coloured with a combination of Marvy Markers (purple, orange and yellow) and Copics (a brown for the hair, and 2 colours for the skin tone), I sponged around both the sentiment and the nestie diecut with ink from the orange Marvy Marker and finished off with this lovely strip made with a Martha Stewart Punch.
Her cape is actually a bright orange but it looks red in my scanned picture.
Thanks for stopping by again - have a great weekend,
Take care,
Sandy

I've got Brown Eyes!

Hi everyone, another overcast day today. My friend Fran came and picked me up early and we went to Diabetic House so I could sign up for membership and buy a glucose monitor etc. I've signed up for some classes too so I get a better idea of what to do or not to do! Fran wants to come with me as she is now glucose intolerant and wants to put off getting diabetes as long as possible.
Came home and did a bit of shopping and then back here. Jane came over so we could have our normal craft at my place instead of hers as my DIL asked me to look after the baby and the nearly 7 year old girl. My other granddaughter was supposed to come, but ended up going over the other grandma's house. My husband came home from work in time to take Amelia off to the playground for 30 mins before Mum came back to pick them up.
We usually go out with friends for tea but they are away for a month, so we decided to stay home instead. Hope you all had a good day whether at work or play.
Onto my card...
I've made this one to enter the Less Is More Challenge Week 35, needs to be Clean & Simple

Here we are again and it's time for another COLOUR challenge.
This week we have chosen
THE COLOUR OF YOUR EYES

Well, my eyes are brown so therefore my card is a combination of shades of brown.
The cardbase is SU Chocolate Chip cardstock, I used a Nellie Snellen die to cut the heart out in SU Creamy Caramel. The image is from Creative Expressions set called Elegant Ladies. I stamped it onto white card with Basic Grey ink and coloured with Marvy Markers for the dress (Ochre, Brown and Dark Brown) and the flower (Green and Lilac) The hair and skin were coloured with Copics. I added light brown bling to the dress. The sentiment is also from SU and was inked with the Dark Brown Marvy Marker.
I had already posted the scan of the card, but it was really streaky so have come back with a photo which is much better and edited this post. The dress is still not quite the right colour, IRL it is an orangy brown.
Thanks for stopping by and to those who leave comments I appreciate them very much and enjoy reading what you have to say.
I'm also going to enter it into the Make It Monday Challenge #57 - Anything Goes
Take care,
Sandy

Fairy Wishes

Hello everyone, I had to post my card for yesterday earlier this evening but I've dated it yesterday, so if you missed it please scroll down if you would like to see it. It was very frustrating spending time on the phone with a technician while he talked me through trying to fix the internet connection problems and in the end still didn't get anywhere and then today it just started working again.
It's school holidays here at the moment so most of my crafting classes are having a break. My husband started a new job today and had to be up early after a sleepless night, he went to bed about 1 1/2 hours ago as he has to be up at 5 a.m. tomorrow. So had a quiet day home. I did take something over to my neighbour's house this afternoon and ended up being asked inside to meet his case worker and ended up on a conference call with his lawyer telling him about the assault incident. I am hoping that they will not ask me to go to court and just accept my affidavit.
The card I want to share is on Night of Navy SU cardstock and then Pear Pizazz, a night of navy oval diecut and then a white scalloped oval diecut. The image was stamped on white card, coloured with Copics and cut out and mounted onto the scalloped oval, I've added some acrylic dots around her and finished off with a sentiment from SU set "Heard from the Heart"
I'm going to enter this into:
Make It Monday #57 - anything goes.
Flutter By Wednesday's Challenge #174
- open but must have an angel, fairy or butterfly.
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything goes with the option of adding something punched, not sure whether the die cuts count as something punched?
Thanks so much for stopping by today,

Sandy

You're My Prince

Hi, everyone, I've had problems with my server and no internet for the past 24 hours, I wasn't impressed but yeah! am back on. I am scheduling this for Tuesday night as that is when it was supposed to go on. Hope it works okay.
Went to Shirley's for our regular Tuesday class and made another 3 lovely cards, my friend, Fran and I took Shirley out for lunch and then a trip to a craft store, we enjoyed our time together and saw lots of lovely things and got some new ideas.
Well on to the card, LOL,
I made this card for the Lollipop Ladies Challenge Challenge #30 - inspiration is Red Frogs and a bonus challenge of movement.
I tried scanning but it showed up the wrong colours so have tried taking a picture which is a bit better but takes me a long time to work out how to access it!
The cardbase is Pear Pizazz by SU and then a red cardstock from stash and I used a die to cut out the frog, also in Pear Pizazz - I recut just the crown and the flags in yellow and used some alphabet stickers that I received in a prize to do the words. I gave the frog some google eyes to qualify for the bonus "movement" challenge.
Thanks for stopping by, hope you find something here to interest you.
Take care,
Sandy

3 Wheel motorbike

Hello, well the weekend is over here in Adelaide, it's been a lovely day today, lots of sunshine after our rainy week. My husband and I went with our daughter, her boyfriend and our other daughter down to one of our local beaches where they were holding a music festival, we took a picnic lunch and ate near where we parked the car so we wouldn't have to carry the chair and food with us down to the grassed area. We sat there for a several hours listening to the music and soaking up some sun. I was a bit envious of them all eating icecreams but I knew I shouldn't have any so didn't.
We walked back along the beach instead of the footpath to get back to the car. I took off my shoes and socks and walked at the edge of the water, lots of little jellyfish had been swept in with the tide, so kept a look out because I didn't want to stand on any! A pleasant afternoon.
I'd like to welcome Shelly to my blog, I do hope you get to visit from time to time.
My card for today is another boy/male card, I don't often make male ones so thought it would be handy to have some in my stash.
Basecard is SU Certainly Celery, the striped DSP is also from SU but not quite sure about the orange dotted one. The sentiment is from Hero Arts, and I stamped this one ages ago so not sure of the brand of stamp, I know it was one of my e-bay purchases last year, I got it out and coloured it tonight with my Copics and fussy cut it and mounted onto a white nestie label and then onto the blue.
I'm going to enter this into:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge - Anything Goes, they are trying to reach 1,000 entries
Make It Monday #57 - Anything Goes
Thanks so much for stopping by today and also for your lovely comments, I do enjoy reading them, also thanks for the positive comments on yesterday's post.

Surfer Matt

Hi again, well it's been an exciting day, got up this morning and went to church, home again and had lunch, did the dishes and then about 3.30p.m. decided to go play catch with the dogs. I was down the side of the house and heard a car pull up and saw a guy get out with some paperwork and walk into my neighbour's driveway, he lives opposite us. I know he has been having legal and money problems and he told me that his accountant was trying to take his house away from him so I thought I would keep an eye on the guy. He knocked on the door and my neighbour came out and I could hear the guy saying he needed to move out, my neighbour said he wasn't moving and it escalated pretty quickly with lots of swearing and yelling, He then grabbed my neighbour by the front of his shirt and punched him, I had come into the front yard by this stage and saw him do it so I yelled at him to stop and that he couldn't go there and assault him. He started back towards the car yelling at me about my neighbour and then threatened that he would be back when he least expected it and the police wouldn't be able to save him. He drove off and I called the police. They came but told my neighbour he needed to go to the police station and make a report. He doesn't have a registered car so we had to take him and I ended up making a statement. I'm concerned this man may retaliate against me as well but I'm sure if I hadn't intervened he would have continued with the assault. It was a quiet day up until then!!
Luckily I had made my card up already so I'm having a proper early night for a change.
I've again used Matt from Kaszazz Stamps, this time he is in surf mode! I used another piece of the orange DSP from SU and a piece of light blue card with a waves stamp from SU Surf's Up set, the sentiment is from the same set, I coloured the image with Marvy Markers and Copics. I rounded the corners of the image piece and then distressed the edges.

Skater Matt

Hi everyone, hope you are all enjoying your weekend. More rain today but not as much as yesterday. My daughter was going to her boyfriend's sister's wedding today, so I hope they got a bit of sunshine to take their photos.
I went to Mum's this morning as my brother was going there too. He has just published a book he has written called "Fractured Love" which is a romantic/drama. His name is John Wilson and you can buy the PDF version through Lulu for only $5.99 but I've gone for the soft cover as I don't have an I pad or E book reader and don't want to have to sit in front of the computer to read it. He bought over a couple of books for Mum and I. I've started reading it already, so am looking forward to getting to the end and seeing what happens to the characters.
Spent the rest of the day at home, had a nano nap! LOL and watched some tv.
I've actually made my card a bit earlier than usual, so will post and hopefully have an early night. We have daylight saving starting tomorrow which means we lose an hour tonight.
My card was made with a SU Daffodil Yellow for the base and 3 different DSP's. The orange one is SU but I am not sure about the other two but from stash anyway. The image is from Kaszazz stamps and I inked him with Basic Grey and coloured with Copic markers, the sentiment is from a set called "Friendly Greetins" by Hero Arts and was inked in SU Choc Chip.
I would like to enter my card into Bearly Mine Challenge 20 - use 3 backing papers
Ruby's Rainbow Challenge #13 - one for the boys
Party Time Tuesdays PTT#35 - Anything Goes,
I hope my card meets the criteria for these challenges.
Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment so I can pop over to look at your blog too,
Take care,
Sandy
