Hi everyone, I hope you are all enjoying a pleasant weekend. My tooth is still not very good, but have coped with less tablets today. I'm not far off bed so will take another lot so will get a good sleep, hopefully. We actually get an extra hour tonight as daylight saving finishes and I will have to change my clock so the alarm goes off at the right time. LOL, if I don't do it I will be an hour early for church in the morning!
I went to craft at my friend, Judy's house today and picked up another friend on the way as her daughter had to go to work and needed her car. Just took along some paper embroidery to do as we decided to just do our own thing this week.
I made chicken vindaloo for tea - I didn't realise it was so hot!! We both were struggling with it. Adrian ate all his but I couldn't manage mine, way too spicy.
Anyway, here is my card for today.
I've used a pale bluey/green cardstock for my basecard and then a layer of light orange, a layer of slightly darker bluey/green DP with little leaves over it. Another layer of the light orange and then the image stamped onto white card. I used nestie dies to cut it out and also a yellow scalloped circle to back it. I coloured the image with Copics and also a white jelly roll pen (for the sheep) I used basic brown to ink the image and the sentiment on the inside. Both stamps come from a retired SU set called Faith & Hope. The inside has a piece of the light orange. I punched a strip of the DP with a picket fence punch and layered a strip of orange and a small strip of the yellow on top. Another nestie diecut, backed with some of the yellow card to finish off.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
One Stop Craft Challenge - Challenge #176 - Easter
Challenge Up Your Life - Challenge #66: Farbkombination / colour challenge. I wasn't quite sure whether the first two colours were a blue or green so have gone with a blue that has a green tinge to it when you put it up next to other blues, hope this is okay. The scan shows is a darker colour that what it actually is.
Just Add Ink - JAI #111 Just Add Easter
Raise The Bar - Challenge #98 - the promise of EASTER (religious aspect)
It was great to "see" those of you who stopped by and left me a comment.
Take care,
Sandy

Ship Ahoy
A beautiful day again today, my hubby and I went off to our eldest granddaughter's school to see her run in the events at Sport's Day. We saw both of our other grandchildren and our DIL too. My tooth is still aching and still dosing on tablets, I did get about 6 hours of sleep and it wasn't too bad first thing this morning so I didn't bother ringing the dentist again. Will have to wait and see what it is like by Monday and ring then if it still hasn't settled down enough. After we got back home, we both ended up returning to our beds for a nap. Adrian still gets tired but was glad to get out for a while and really pleased he got some pictures of Amelia at school.
Well, I am ready for sleep again so will hurry and finish this post off.
I've made a male card again today.
The basecard is SU Tempting Turquoise cardstock followed by two different DP's both from stash. The images I used are all from SU set The Open Sea. I stamped the sailing ship onto the white card once I had stamped a background stamp and then the map of the world and the ship last. I then stamped it onto some scrap white and cut it out and adhered it over the first image. I gave it a bit of colour with my Copic Markers. The anchor was done in the same fashion although it has an extra layer. The sentiment is called Tall Birthday and is from Stamp-It. I saw an image framed like this in a magazine and really liked it so have given it a go. I also did the inside of the card to match.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday #82 - Anything Goes
Cards for Men - Challenge 7 - The Great Outdoors
Squiggles and Giggles Sqiggle Saturday - Birthday Bash!!
Well thanks for popping in and for your comments and concern too.

You're a Great Catch
Hello, I've been a misery today. I've had toothache for a week and have had to wait that long for an emergency appointment- it was going to be tomorrow but when they rang up to confirm I was still coming my OH said that I was looking forward to it and was like a bear with a sore head, so they told be to come to the surgery in 15 minutes. Well, I have to have a root canal done. He has taken the nerves out and there was infection there too. In went the antibiotics and it was sealed up and I have been in worse pain than before. If I don't sleep well because of the pain I can ring up again in the morning and he will give me a script for antibiotics as well. I am hoping for a good night's sleep!!!
Luckily craft was cancelled today due to lack of people! I had a quiet day at home, I tried to have a sleep for a while. We had salmon for tea tonight but I ended up just eating a very small piece. Just enough so I could take diabetes medication. I have missed choir for about a month due to all the health issues going on with Adrian etc so I thought I had better go for practise as Palm Sunday is this weekend and Easter Services next weekend. Apart from feeling uncomfortable I did enjoy being back singing.
So... onto my card for today and then I am going to bed.
I've used SU Night of Navy for the basecard and then a layer of SU Pear Pizzazz.
The checked DPis from My Mind's Eye and the green one is from SU. The image is from Forever Friends - retro collection, The Good Life. I inked it in basic grey and coloured with Copic Markers. I popped it up with foam dots on a piece of the Night of Navy. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added 3 small pieces of black bling. The inside has a piece of the Pear Pizzazz and then a layer of the check and I used a nestie to cut out the white piece, backed it with the Navy and then trimmed. The sentiment if from Penny Black called ...365 days.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Day at the Races
Hi again, well it's nearly the end of March and I can't believe how fast the year is going already. Tomorrow will be our eldest son's birthday and I haven't even thought about what to give him as a present. I took hubby to the doctor's today and had the growth on his head chopped out. He is now sporting 4 stitches to add to his pain of broken ribs. He says it's not hurting at the moment so hopefully it will be okay.
I had craft this morning and played around with some prototypes for my daughter's wedding invitations. She had something in mind and I tried to duplicate it with just what I had here in my stash. The colours weren't what she wanted but at least she can see it can be achieved if that is what she chooses.
Well it is late as usual here, those of you who visit regularly will know that I am a bit of a night owl!!! I had better get on and share the card I made.
I decided to have a go at making a Dutch fold Card.
I have used white cardstock to make the cardbase and the a layer of DP from a mini stack by cre8tiv in a black and white pattern. The image is from a Kanban set called "Day at the Races" it's a different set of the Cavendish Ladies that I have shared on earlier posts. I stamped it in Basic Black ink onto a white circle diecut and then layered it onto a black scalloped diecut and adhered to the top folded part of the card. I also added some white pearls to the left handtop and right hand bottom corners. The inside has some more of the DP on the base and some layers of black card. The sentiment is from Penny Black and I stamped it onto a piece of white card stock and punched the edges with a border punch.
I enjoyed making this one.
I would like to enter it into the following challenges:
Chocolate, Coffe & Cards Challenges - Challenge 9 ~ Fancy Folds. The bottom two panel fold in like a gate fold and the top folds down.
Craft Your Passion Challenges - Challenge 103 - MONOCHROMATIC -We want to see shades of one color or black and white.
The Cheerful Stamp Pad - Challenge #39 - Anything Goes
Make It Monday - #82 - Anything Goes
Hope you enjoy my card today and thanks again for popping in. I couldn't crop the scan of the inside as I wanted to show the whole thing.

Sandy

Happy Easter
Welcome to my little piece of blogland, hope you've had a good day.
I started off mine finding I was one of the winners over at Party Time Tuesdays, you can see my card here. Well, LOL, it was very early in the morning, about 1 a.m.
I woke up about 7.15 and groggily switched the alarm off and then must have turned the second one off without even registering it and then when I woke up next I checked the time and was horrified to see I had slept in and was supposed to be picking a friend up in only five minutes and then another friend also on the way to craft, so I had to make a phone call to say I would be late and then hurry to get dressed, take blood sugar levels, tablets and breakfast. I didn't do too badly. I was about 15 minutes late.
We had a good time at craft and made 3 fab cards with Shirley. Doug, (Shirley's hubby) popped in on his gopher to see what we were up to. It was good to see him there.
Fran, Helen and I stopped on the way home at our usual little cafe and had some lunch before I dropped them both home. I'm having a few problems with my teeth and have off and on toothache, I rang yesterday and got told my dentist was booked up for 4 weeks but because I have toothache he will see me Friday! It makes you feel lousy and tired too!! and will have to put up with it for another few days.
Anyway will get on with sharing my card and head off to bed.
I've used SU Crumbcake fpr the base and then another layer which I put through an embossing folder and popped up with foam dots. I couldn't find a DP that went with the floral image that I used, they all seem to overpower it, that's why I went with the one colour. I cut another piece out with a nestie die and adhered it to a piece of SU Rose Red and trimmed. The image is from SU clear mount set "Easter Blossoms". I inked it with Basic Brown and coloured it with a pink Copic Marker and also a brown one. I added a ribbon and lots of bling on the flowers. The sentiment is also from the same set and I edged it with a pink Marvy Marker. I also did the inside with a piece of the Rose Red, rounded the corners and then added another diecut and stamped two decorative corners in basic brown (image also from the SU set)
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Rockin" Birthday Boy
Well, Monday is almost over for me here in Adelaide. The weather has been good so took the chance to get the washing done. As usual, I have to play ball with our two dogs whilst I hang the washing out. Our daughter's Westie is not interested in playing ball at all. He went back home tonight, so her other dog Moni must be feeling a bit better after her operation.
Not very much to chat about tonight so will get onto my card for today.
The basecard is SU Cajun Craze and then a layer of DP from My Mind's Eye called "Rock on Paper" The image is a digi from Cardmadfairy and I used a nestie die to cut it out and then used Copic Markers to colour it. I backed it with a piece of Cajun Craze and trimmed around it to get a small edge. The sentiments are from a retired SU set called "Starring You" and were inked in Cajun Craze. The inside has a piece of white card, a strip of Cajun Craze and then I punched out 3 circles of the DP and went around the outside with a blue copic marker. I stamped the sentiment and punched it out with the word window punch and also added the blue around the edge.

Happy 4th birthday
Well, some exciting news for our family today. Our eldest daughter has announced her engagement and they are getting married in November so with the marriage of our son two weeks ago, this will be two weddings in one year! We went out today for lunch with them and we thought maybe just George's Mum, but the numbers grew and we had all our family except for Ryan and Katie who are still on their honeymoon and also George's parents and sister and her husband and another couple of his relatives. We went to a Vietnamese eatery- very crowded and noisy and we added to the noise level when George made the announcement at the end of the meal. Several of the family knew he had purchased a ring but hadn't popped the question yet so weren't sure when it was going to happen. So that's our excitement for the weekend!
I managed to get to church this morning, leaving Adrian at home because he is still very sore. I didn't sing in the choir because I have missed several practices and wasn't sure what they were singing. It was a lovely piece and they sang it at the end of the service instead of before the sermon. It was more like a sung "blessing" to finish off the service.
I caught up with Mum and another friend and then came home to get organised for our luncheon with the family. I had a phone call from a friend late afternoon asking how my day went. Her daughter is going to be one of the bridesmaids and had seen it on facebook and spilled the beans. She also had known already and kept quiet.
The rest of the evening I decided to just sit and watch tv for a change and then started very late on making my card. I am going to use this one for our youngest granddaughter's birthday which is coming up soon and as you can see, she will be 4 years old and starting kindy soon. The image reminds me quite a bit of Layla.
Well here is what I used.
The basecard is SU Elegant Eggplant, a layer of DP from my scrap pile. The image is a digi from cardmadfairy printed onto white card and coloured with Copic Markers. I then layered it onto a piece of SU Wisteria Wonder. The number was cut from a sheet of DP that I've had in my stash for about 3 years and backed with a scalloped circle in wisteria wonder. I added the sentiment from Stampit to the bottom corner. I inked in with a Marvy Marker. I chose to keep the inside fairly plain with a piece of wisteria wonder an then a few strips of the two purples and the DP.

Sylvia's Birthday Card
Hello, I'm a bit tired tonight, Adrian and I went out for a meal for a friend's daughter. She turns 21 tomorrow. We were about 10 minutes late getting there, but it was one of those buffet style places. So the others had just started eating when we got there. I bought her a bracelet for her birthday and she seemed to like it. She got quite a bit of jewellery - at least 2 bracelets and 2 necklaces and I didn't see what else. We went back to her Grandma's house so we could have a coffee and chat a bit more as it was too noisy trying to talk at the restaurant. So we didn't get home until about 10.40 p.m. I was surprised to find one of my cards featured over at Digi Darla's Challenge blog, you can see it here.
Our daughter's dog came through her surgery okay but will take a while to get back to normal. She had a piece of bone rupture the inside of her mouth and it healed inside of her cheek and caused an infection in there. That was the rattling noise my daughter could here. Yuck!!! Ruben, the westie is going to stay with us for a couple of days so Moni can rest up and heal before having him jumping all over her. He's still a puppy really.
We still had rain today but was warm mostly. I heard the weather for tomorrow and they say it will be 27C but we probably will still get some rain. Just really weird weather lately.
I am going to share the card I made for Sylvia's 21st with you tonight as I started it last night and only got as far as choosing the image and colouring it.
This is what I made.
The basecard is SU Basic Black, then a layer of blue card (could be one of SU's) and a piece of DP from a mini stack pad by cre8tiv. The digi is from The Sherlock's home - a freebie. It was coloured with Copic Markers. I fussy cut it and adhered it to the front of the card. I cut the 21 with a Cuttlebug alphabet die set called "Baby Face" and I used a shiny silver cardstock. I adhered the numbers inside a black circle punched with a 1 1/2" circle punch which I adhered to a blue scallop punched with a 1 3/4" scallop punch. The inside has a layer of blue card and a white nestie diecut with a trimmed layer of black behind it. The sentiment was stamped in Basic Grey and I also stamped a small butterfly. I stamped it again onto a scrap of white card, coloured the image and cut it out and put it over the original image to give it some depth. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp called "growing up"
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
The Poodles Parlour - Anything Goes
Pattie's Creations Design Challenge - Challenge #40 - Anything goes
Stampin' for the Weekend - Challenge 6 Anything Goes
Well hope you are having a great break from work or other responsibilities and managing to find some relaxation time.
Take Care,
Sandy
Sorry the scans have not shown the true colour of the card. The Dp is actually black with silver lines on the top and bottom and the black looks patchy. I've already given her the card so I can't take a photo. I scanned it quickly before we left and only just checked it now. Oh well, you get the gist of it anyway

Happiest Birthday Wishes
Hello, if you are popping by today, hope you have found something to interest you. Another day with rain and cold breezes. We had an early morning visitor today. My daughter's boyfriend came over and dropped one of her dogs here as the other dog had some surgery today. She had a lump in her throat and also an infection which meant she had to have I think just 1 tooth removed. We now have the Westie staying with us so Moni can rest up after the operation. She has to wear one of those plastic collars so that wouldn't have gone down well with the Westie probably trying to pull it off. So he will be staying with us for a few days.
I took my granddaughter to craft with me, we were very late due to the dog coming, LOL, George parked in the drive and stayed for a coffee.
On the way home from craft we dropped in to a local shopping centre and went looking for a gift for one of my friend's daughters who has just turned 21. I started her card tonight so have to finish it tomorrow morning as we are going out for a meal with them tomorrow night.
Our youngest son dropped in tonight and brought some fish for tea. I had bought some earlier so we had the same. Our granddaughter is staying again tonight as my DIL rang to say she was not well and hubby offered for Layla to stay 1 more night. I had to share my piece of fish with her as I bought it before I knew she was staying. She loves fish and always eats it all up with no prompting.
Finally got Adrian in to see the doctor. The large fluid sac on his elbow has gone down slightly and he said to just let the body heal itself as if he drained it, it probably would come back again. He has given him another certificate as he still isn't fit for work. Will have another couple of weeks to heal those ribs and then see how much he can move around.
It's so cold tonight, I actually got our wood fire going. Ridiculous when it is still summer here!!
Anyway, I had better get on and share this card,
I've used a white cardbase and then layered some burgundy card and an embossed piece of pink card (swiss dots folder) I cut a long rectangular piece of burgundy card and tied a ribbon & bow around it. The sentiment was stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler and is from SU clear mount set Happiest Birthday Wishes. I used a circle punch and a scallop punch. I ink distressed the scallop and then added 3 little punched green flowers which I shaped and added some pink bling to the centres. I also added 3 light green pieces of bling to the lower RH corner. On the inside I have used a layer of burgundy card and also a piece of the pink. I used a corner punch on the pink piece. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp called 365 days and was inked with SU Cherry Cobbler.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

I used Ribbon, free (flowers) and punched shapes
Thanks again for stopping by, hope you all have a relaxing weekend.

Thankyou Card
Wow, it's been like Winter here today and it is actually Summer! I had a long sleeve skivvy on during the day and had a cardigan on tonight at home. We had pizza for tea and I went and picked it up and it was very chilly. I just got home and to the front verandah when it started to rain. Our youngest granddaughter is staying with us again overnight and tomorrow. She still has a bit of a cold, not too bad though. Adrian has had a cold for about a week and I haven't succumbed to it yet, so fingers crossed, LOL. I don't want it!!!
My Thursday craft group was very small today, just me and my friend, Jane. Little Layla got dropped off half way through the afternoon. Jane managed to make a couple of cards and I did some colouring of images. It's good to have some on hand when I don't have a lot of time, although it sometimes takes me quite a while to work out what to use on the card.
This is what I came up with today.
The basecard is SU Real Red, a layer of white card. I distressed the edges and then also ink distressed the edges with SU Basic Grey. The DP is from My Mind's Eye. I used a piece of lace and mounted my sentiment over the top. The frame is from a clear set of BoBunny stamps and inked in Basic Grey. The sentiment is from SU clear set,Curly Cute and inked in SU Real Red. The butterflies are from the same BoBunny set, inked in the Basic Grey and coloured using a blender pen and Real Red ink.
I added 3 pinky brown pearls in the bottom right hand corner. The inside has a layer of the DP and then a deckled oval diecut in white with the edge distressed with Basic Grey ink and I added another butterfly.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday - #81 Anything Goes

Well, I hope you are all well and enjoying life in general. Thanks for stopping by and also to those who take the time to comment, I love reading what you have to say and appreciate your comments.

Bird Chorus
Hello to all who are visiting my blog today. My husband and I had a funeral to go to today. One of our neighbours who has been in a nursing home for the past 3 years. It was held at a local Anglican church where he and his wife were married nearly 65 years ago and where they attended services ever since then. It was a very long service starting at 10.30 p.m. and finishing at 12 p.m. It didn't feel that long though. He was an interesting man. Very involved in music and actually received a British Empire Medal for his services to Music. He was a policeman in early years and then a soldier and played in both of these services bands. He also taught fife drums to children at school and was very involved in a local band as well. A wonderful Christian man who was very involved in the life of his church. The army band played at the beginning of the funeral service and also at the end. One of his granddaughters (also in the armed forces) played Ave Maria on the clarinet with organ accompaniment. His 3 children spoke, 2 granddaughters and a great-granddaughter and one of his old friends, they met when they first joined the policeforce, 70 years ago. The church choir also sang two songs and the minister spoke as well. A wonderful testament to him. The local band he was in formed a guard of honour for his coffin. We didn't stay for the refreshments after as there were so many people
We decided to eat out for lunch and then came home for the rest of the day and had a very light tea. Our youngest daughter called in before tea on her way home from her nursing studies. I had laid down and fallen asleep, so she was here 30 mins before I woke up.
I caught up a bit with some blog commenting and then sat down to make my card for today.
Here is what I used,
The basecard is SU Real Red, I embossed a piece of white card with a Cuttlebug folder called Divine Swirls and added a green ribbon. The image is a digi from Doodle Pantry and coloured with Copic Markers. I added a sentiment from a retired SU set called Cute and Curly and cut with a matching punch. I used a topnote diecut on the inside and added a sentiment from SU set Heard from the Heart, inked in Real Red. The little bird is from Kaisercraft clear stamp set Fine &
sunny.
I would like to enter this into the following:
ABC Christmas Challenge - F is for Furry and/or Feathered Friends
Christmas Inspirations - 43 - Dry or Heat Embossing
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - Challenge 8 Feathers and Fur
Well catch you later,

Angel Showers
Hello and welcome. Hope you are enjoying your day.
It's been a very hot day today and now it's raining! We've had a change come through and I think the temps are going to be a lot lower for the rest of the week too. I've got the front door open trying to cool the house down. It's an old stone and brick house and once it warms up, it takes a while to cool down again!
My friend, Fran and I went off to craft this morning with Shirley and had an enjoyable time making up the 3 cards she had come up for us. There were four of us today as one of the older ladies has broken a vertabrae in her back and another friend couldn't come either.
Fran and I stopped at a little cafe and had some lunch and then headed up to a craft store so Fran could pick up a couple of things she had ordered. I had a small house mouse stamp to pick up too. So I am sure he will be featuring on a card in the near future!
Our son rang to let us know where he and our new DIL are staying. It sounds like they are having an interesting time as they travel down the East Coast of Australia. They are in Byron Bay today.
Well enough chatter and on to sharing my card,
I've used SU Daffodil Yellow as the card base and then a layer of SU Tempting Turquoise and the DP is from p.i.g.g.y tales "it's raining collection" called "morning" I didn't look at that before I used it, but it's very appropriately named for my image.
I've coloured the image with Copic Markers and also a couple of Spectrum noir markers. The image is from Digi Darla and was printed onto white card and cut out using a Nestie Die. I coloured the edge with a pale blue Copic Marker. I stamped this cute little cloud from Kaisercraft - a clear set called "Fine & Sunny", with SU Basic Grey and added a sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments which was inked with a blue Marvy Marker. I decorated the inside to match and used a Penny Black Sentiment called "...every day", it was also inked with the Marvy Marker.
I would like to enter this into the following:

Teen skater
Hello, thanks for stopping by. It's been a lovely day here so I did get some washing done. Our daughter called in late afternoon and then stayed on to eat with us. I roasted a split chicken marinated with coriander and lime. I never liked coriander, but have become used to the taste and quite enjoy it now. A friend lent me her DVD series of "Bones" and I sat and watched about 4 episodes. I didn't realise they have been going for 6 years, so there are quite a lot of discs to get through. Hope she doesn't want them back in too much of a hurry!
I sat down about 9.30 p.m. to start thinking about what I wanted to make today and here is what I came up with.
The basecard is SU Chocolate Chip cardstock. I used two different spotted papers from My Mind's Eye and then cut a reverse wonky rectangle in SU Tempting Turquoise. The sentiment was inked with a Marvy Marker and stamped onto white card and punched out. The image is another digi from Anne Bodhill and coloured with different shades of blue and brown Copic Markers. To finish it off I added a large brown button and added some blue and white twine. I did the inside of the card to match but added a bit of white card as well to write birthday greetings on.

All in Pink
A very quiet day, I have been so tired lately, probably stress related because of hubby breaking his ribs again - here I was thinking he would be going back to work tomorrow and now it is going to be 6 - 8 weeks again! His elbow seems to have fluid in it so I will make an appointment and take him to the doctors tomorrow, he really should have an x-ray to work out exactly what he has done. On top of all that, he has come down with a cold and sneezing is very painful. Will have to watch he doesn't get pneumonia.
Also found out today our neighbour's hubby died on Wednesday, he has been in a nursing home for several years with cancer. We found out in an odd way, our youngest son hired a car trailer and the person serving him must have recognised our addy and mentioned that his grandfather had just died and that he lived across the road from us. I saw our neighbour as I was going out in the car so reversed back and talked to her, she said that she had meant to come and tell us but had visitors all day on Friday and then had been feeling unwell. At least we now know when the funeral is so we can attend - I would have felt bad if we missed it.
It's very late here and all is quiet except for Adrian occasionally snoring so hopefully he will have a good night.
I caught a new episode of the Mentalist tonight, I've been letting Adrian watch whatever he is interested in mostly so it was good to see something that I enjoy.
Well onto my card for today.
The basecard is SU Regal Rose, the DP is from Fiskars(same pack as yesterday's card)
I layered two nestie shapes together and backed it with a rectangular piece of white card. The image is a digi from Anne Bodhils and I coloured her with Copic Markers and cut her out and adhered to the white nestie diecut. I added a punched strip of daisy flowers in Regal Rose and then 3 flowers with some punched leaves - I finished the flowers off with some pink bling. The inside has a piece of DP, an deckled oval in white and mounted onto a piece of pink and trimmed. The stamp is from a retired SU set stamped in Basic Brown and I added a little green diecut trim as well.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Well hope you has an enjoyable weekend, they seem to be flying past again, LOL.

Say it....in Yellow & White
Welcome, I hope you are enjoying your weekend, mine is half over already! I slept a bit later than usual and after having breakfast and my diabetes tablets, I got myself organised to do some "housework" The dishes were sitting waiting for me and I did one load of washing. It was overcast with a few grey clouds about but hubby said it was going to be about 28C so I hung them on the line. Our two dogs always want to play ball when I am out there so I hang clothes and kick the ball at the same time!!!
Since our plans to go away for the weekend had fallen through because of Adrian not being able to get around much I decided to go to my usual Saturday afternoon activity, craft at my friend Judy's house. We were all going to be doing some beading but as it was a last minute decision, I didn't have the energy to go searching through my beads for the right ones so I just took some paper embroidery to do. We enjoyed catching up with each other and seeing the different versions of the project that most of the others did.
The card I've made tonight was mad specifically for a challenge and maybe I can find another couple of challenges to put it in too, LOL.
So here it is:
The basecard is Yellow cardstock from stash. a layer of white card and then I cut three panel of DP from Fiskars, Heidi Grace Designs and I think it is called Bouquet Flowers Decor. I used a white heart shaped nestie diecut and went around the edge with a Yellow Copic Marker and then Dark Grey Ink. The sentiment(from Annabelle Stamp set "Flowers With Love") is inked in the same colour. I stamped the little girl (Lil Molly''s Flowers, Annabelle Stamps) and then coloured her with Copic Markers using different shades of Yellow for her clothing. I used a white Jelly Roll pen on a couple of the flowers and also the boots. I used several browns for hair and skin colouring. The flowers were coloured with Jelly Roll Pens. I finished off with a small edge of light blue and then cut the image out and popped both the heart and little girl on with foam dots.
The inside of the card has a layer of white, DP and a white deckled oval diecut which I edged with the yellow Copic Marker and the dark grey inkpad.

Fairy with Torn flower
That was clever! I just wrote my post out and then I must have knocked something on the keyboard and it just disappeared. I couldn't find it so have started again.
Well, it's good to "see" you, I hope you have had a good day. Mine was fairly quiet, Layla woke this morning with no ill effects from yesterday's earache, no temperature either so that was good. I had gotten up early and then hopped back in to bed and fallen asleep again and was woken about an hour later with Layla prodding me in the back. She is such a cute little character. We shouted out good morning to Papa who is sleeping in the spare room because of his broken ribs and then we got up to go see him. After breakfast I took Layla to craft with me where she did some colouring and I did some paper embroidery. I want to get a few pieces stockpiled in my stash in case I want to combine some with a bit of stamping or 3D.
It took me a while to come up with today's card, and as it is rather late I will get on and share it.
Here is what I did:
The basecard is SU Garden Green and the DP is from My Mind's Eye. I tore a piece of the DP for the corner and backed it with a torn piece of the Garden Green.
The image is from Whoopsi Daisy, a digi, which I printed off onto white card, coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out and mounted on the DP. I used some scraps from another My Mind's Eye DP and made a torn flower with a piece of the garden green behind it and also two garden green torn leaves. I used a purple brad for the centre. The sentiment is from Hero Arts called "Fabulous Birthday".
The inside of the card has a layer of DP and then another piece torn and matted onto the green. The sentiment is from Stamp-It and is called "...every day"
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Stampin with the Dragon #6 - Things with Wings

Thanks so much for stopping by today,
Take care,

You'll Look Sweet
Hello again, it's been quite a reasonable day today after the storm yesterday. Our granddaughter came to stay overnight but has a cold. She was fine until I went out with friends for tea, I ordered some fish and chips for her as she really loves fish but by the time it came she was complaining of sore ears and ended up falling asleep on me. Our youngest son had met us there so I got him to carry her out to the car for me. I left her home with hubby (she had already drifted off to sleep again) and went off to the chemist for some Panadol as she had a temperature as well and the only liquid medicine I had in the cupboard expired in 2009!!! After waking her up and dosing her with the Panadol she still wanted her story but closed her eyes as soon as I got to the end and was asleep in seconds. Hope she is better in the morning as our DIL is helping out at the school tomorrow afternoon and that is why she is here. I thought it would save her rushing around tomorrow bringing her down and we always enjoy having her stay over.
After she went to bed I watched Law & Order and then sat down to make my card, spent most of the time trying to find what I did with the die I used to make the rosette on the front. As you can see I did find it.
I've used SU Early Espresso for my basecard and the a layer of light beige textured card from stash. I distressed the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink and also distressed them with an edge distresser. The DP is from My Mind's Eye and I added some lace, the rosette with a pink sparkly bling on top. I stamped the image and the sentiment onto the light beige card with SU Basic Brown ink -distressed the image and cut around the sentiment and just ink distressed that piece. I also decorated the inside with the DP and a torn piece of beige cardstock which I again distressed and added a birthday sentiment from Stamp-It called "Tall Birthday"
Sorry the scan is pretty lousy if I get a chance will try and take a picture to upload.

Thanks for looking and for the comments too, off to check on Layla.

Bear Hugs
Hello, what a day, we've had lots of rain this afternoon, with lightning and thunder.
My hubby decided to ride his pushbike this morning (before the rain) in to his outpatient's appointment to make sure his shoulder blade had healed etc and ended up going over the top of his handlebars and looks like he may have rebroken his ribs again. The doctor only told him his shoulder was okay and didn't send him off for an x-ray or anything so he is now in lots of pain again and I've set him back up in the spare room so he can try and sleep in a more vertical position. He is now back to square one and I'm not sure whether his workplace will be happy to keep his job open for another 6 - 8 weeks! He didn't let me know until he got home and I could see as soon as he came through the front door that there was a problem. He rode and pushed the bike part way home and also got caught in the rain. I am cross and upset at the same time. He should have taken the car and paid for parking!!
Well enough griping, here is my card for today.
The basecard is SU Certainly Celery and the very bright pink card is from stash. I've used two different DP's from DCWV - The Sweet Stack. The bear is from a clear stamp set from Kanban called Wooly Bears - Isobel. It comes with two bears and some clothes, heart, bows and words. I've used the dress stamp and one of the bow stamps inked in SU Pink Passion then stamped onto a scrap of DP from My Mind's Eye. The bear was stamped on white card, coloured with Copic Markers and then cut out and adhered to a Nellie Snellen Oval diecut in the bright pink.
The inside of the card has a layer of bright pink and then the same DP as the dress.
I used a scallop nestie die to cut the pink piece and then a circle die for the white circle. The words on the front and inside are again from the same set, inked in Basic Brown and then I went over them with a Gel Pen which gives it a slight embossed look.
I would like to enter this into the following Challenges:
Papertake Weekly Challenge - For The Girls ….or Mum

Sundays With Crissy - Challenge #27 - Animals.
Heading off to bed soon, so thanks for popping in and to those who have left comments, thank you for your encouragement.

VW Kombi Van
Hello, back to normal today, went off to craft this morning, picking up a friend along the way. Shirley treated us to three lovely cards to make. I came home to find OH in the driveway with a scooter that he has just bought that needs work on it. He said it was for me. It has come from an insurance write off auction so can't be registered without a lot of mucking about, inspections etc. If I can only ride off road, I don't see the point of having it, but with all the boys I am sure they will get some joy out of it when they go up the farm.
Still getting over the wedding, LOL, had another sleep during the day and this time no headache when I woke up.
I watched some tv tonight and then sat down to make a card. I got some new stamps in the mail today that I bought from e-bay a couple of weeks ago.
Here is how I made the card.
Basecard is SU Garden Green cardstock and then a layer of stripey DP from My Mind's Eye. I used the Cuttlebug to cut a circle with another DP from My Mind's Eye and also a backing circle with Garden Green. Another smaller Garden Green Circle and then a white one on top. I stamped the image from Kanban stamps called Retro Cars in Basic Black ink onto the white circle and coloured with Copic Markers. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and I used punches to cut it out.
I decorated the inside again using the same theme as the front. I added a stamped image of an alarm clock from Stamp-It. I fussy cut it and popped it up with foam dots on one side. The sentiment is from another Kanban set.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Make It Monday - #80 Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesdays - PTT#59-Monochromatic
Birthday Sundaes - Challenge #47 - Use Green
Sentimental Sundays - Challenge #93- Go Green or RECYCLE!
It was great to "see" you, enjoy the rest of your day,

Girl Kissing a Butterfly
The last couple of days have caught up with me and I'm pretty tired at the moment - time for bed!
Hope you all had a fab weekend. Thanks to all of you who left well wishes for the wedding, they were much appreciated. Our son's wedding went off really well, the weather was perfect and the ceremony was really good. Our new DIL looked beautiful as did our two cute granddaughters who gave out bubble mixture to the guests. Katie started her vows but got a bit emotional and ended up just nodding as the minister said them. The reception was good, great food and everyone had a good time. I even managed to do a bit of dancing as my back had improved quite a bit. We had our last minute emergencies to deal with. Our youngest daughter had a zip catastrophe the pull part of the zip broke and the whole zip split open and we had no means of closing it so I had to literally stitch her into the dress about an hour before the wedding, so I was last to get dressed and starting to panic that we would be late. I had my hair done just before lunch and told not to go doing anything as if I perspired too much the curls would drop out. So the last hour before the wedding was a bit hectic with 5 females all trying to get dressed and get make up on. The minister (our friend, Darrell) couldn't get in his room because someone was using the mirror to put their make up on, LOL. The men were a lot easier to organise and then we car pooled up to the park luckily only five minutes away. When I get some photos, I will share a couple of them.
Today we got up and had breakfast with the minister and a couple of friends who stayed here overnight. Hubby drove the minister off to the airport about 11.30 a.m. and our friends left then as well to go back to their farm. I had the newlyweds drop in to pick up their vehicle and their dog and to make sure we were coming over in the afternoon for a little while. I made a huge batch of scones to take and we saw some of the photos put through the tv. They will have lots to choose from to make an album up. We came home and both had a short snooze before Adrian had to drive up to the eldest daughter's place to see if he could drain petrol from her car. She accidently put unleaded into it instead of diesel. They had no luck so she won't be able to drive it until they figure out how to get the petrol out. She had it towed from the petrol station.
I didn't manage to post last night so I sat down tonight and made this card to share.
The basecard is SU Certainly Celery and then I made up 3 panels with two different DPs using a burgundy card from stash as a matte. The sentiment is from SU Friendly Phrases and the sentiment on the inside is from Stamp-It called Tall Birthday. I used a layer of the dotted DP on the inside and then a white topnote diecut.

Young Boy Fishing
Hello everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend. A very quiet day for me today, normally have craft in the afternoon but my friend Judy (we meet at her house) has gone interstate for a family function so we have skipped a week. Well, the last few days have sped past and it's our son's wedding tomorrow. Everything is organised and we just have to turn up now. It's going to be a beautiful day weather wise and that's great as it is an outdoor wedding. I have a hair appointment tomorrow morning and then most of the family are coming here to either get dressed or car pool up to the park. The youngest son is helping to set up some chairs and the table for signing the register and then I think my new DIL's brother will come and stay there so he can come home and get ready.
I found some time this evening to sit down and craft and here is what I came up with.
I've used a nestie shape to cut my card base and kept the card fairly simple, not using any DP at all. The basecard is SU Island Indigo, (I cut an extra shape in the Island Indigo and put on the front, so I had the full shape) and then a layer of Peach Parfait and another different shaped nestie cut in white. The little image is from a clear set of stamps by Flonz and was coloured with Copic Markers. I already had the sentiment stamped and in the box with my finished coloured images. I am fairly sure it was a set from Kaszass stamps and inked in Pumpkin Pie.
I decorated the inside just using two nesties - one in Peach Parfait and the other white.
I would like to enter this into the following:
Celebrate the Occasion Challenge #53 - Birthday shaped card
Anything Goes Challenge Blog - Challenge 62 - Boyz to Men
Got to go (need my beauty sleep, ha, ha, By the way my back is a lot better than yesterday so hopefully by tomorrow will be okay!)
Thanks for stopping by and for all the fab comments.
Take Care,
Sandy

X-Men
Hello everyone,
I would like to welcome another follower, Elaine, hope you pop in from time to time and find something here to interest you.
We had our youngest granddaughter here today which was nice. We had a fairly quiet day at home and then out for tea in the markets in the city. Chinese food tonight, and then went to a small cafe for coffee before coming home. I haven't really had any time for crafting so I am going to share a card that I have previously made and not put on the blog yet.
Here it is:
The basecard is blue card from stash and then a layer of cream. I made the 3D picture using multiple images and added a sentiment on some punched ovals. Sorry just a short post, need to go to bed and rest this back. My daughter gave me a massage which has helped a little bit but still not good.
Thanks for stopping by,
Enjoy your weekend!
Take Care Sandy

Little Birds all in a Row
Hi everyone, I would like to welcome new follower Shannah. Hope you find something to interest you.
I woke up this morning after having a very restless sleep and my back is still pretty sore. Our minister friend, who is performing the wedding ceremony on Sunday was supposed to arrive at about 12 noon. He rang to tell us he had missed his flight due to road delays, it took them nearly 2 hours to travel 10km!!! He had to come on a much later flight and was then supposed to arrive at 6.45 p.m. Off to the airport we went. I drove and dropped Adrian at the arrivals to go and wait for the plane to land, we were about 20 mins or more early and I drove out to Ikea and parked in their carpark. Hubby rang me probably about 15 mins later and said the plane had been delayed and wasn't arriving now until 7.25. It was a very long wait in the car and I was in pain sitting in one position for so long. I did get out of the car for a short while but felt a bit self conscious just loitering around as by this time I had moved into a side street because there was a security guard wandering around Ikea's carpark and I saw him take down a car number. Finally hubby rang about 7.3o ish to say come and get them and then we headed home. We had planned a meal out at 6.30 with family and some mutual friends, but had to cancel, I then booked for 7.30 and then cancelled that one as well. We eventually made it and took pot luck at getting a table. My son, his fiancee and his best man turned up just after we had ordered and joined us and then some friends also popped in as they were two of the original party. Well, we had a nice meal and then back here for him to settle in, listened to the cricket, watched some tv and then Darrell and my hubby looked up some cars on the computer.
I'm tired!! Oh, I did go out early this morning and had my first ever acrylic nails put on. I have very flimsy nails and can never grow them. So this is different for me!
The card I am sharing is a very simple one using some DP as the image and two stamps for the sentiment.
Basecard is Wild Wasabi from SU, I can't remember the name of the DP - I used two different SU sets - Teeny Tiny Sentiments and I think it is Heard from the Heart.
They were both inked in basic black.
Thanks for popping in I hope you have had a more relaxing day and managed to find some time for crafting.
Take Care,
Sandy

Embroidered Panel
A quick post, I seem to be in the wars lately, I've pulled a muscle or something in my back again. I must have a bit of a weakness there now as I've done this at least 4 or 5 times over the last year. I woke up with a slight twinge, but after doing some more housework, washing the sheets on the spare bed and remaking it, I was in a fair bit of pain.
I had already decided not to go to craft (had too much to do at home), I did tell one of the ladies yesterday, but she didn't pass on the message so an hour after class should have started I got a phone call from another friend to see if I was alright. I was supposed to be showing them how to make a picture using a serviette. Oh well, there is always next week.
My future DIL asked me about a week ago if I wanted to come with her when she went down to the reception venue. Her mum, one of the bridesmaids, her brother (who wasn't supposed to be there) and myself all went down. We took her decorations for the tables, the jars for the lollies and little organza bags etc down and she paid for it all. Things have certainly gone up since our oldest son got married 9 years ago, the price was just over double of what they paid.
I wanted to thank Shirley for choosing one of my cards for her POW from last week's Make It Monday linky party and also to Michelle for featuring yesterdays card on her Pink Paper Paradise facebook page today.
Anyway, here is my card for today.
Another example of my paper embroidery work. It is one of my favourite techniques and I haven't been doing much of it lately. I'm thinking of doing it on Fridays at class instead of taking stamping/colouring work to do.
The basecard is a bright orange card from stash and I embroidered the pattern with blue and orange metallic threads. I used a border punch and also put a line of gold border sticker down each side. I haven't decorated the inside yet. Haven't quite decided what to put inside.
Thanks for stopping by and I've enjoyed reading your comments.

Connection
Hi, hope you have all enjoyed your day. Mine has been a reasonable one. Started off throwing another pesky load of clothes in the machine and putting on before I left home. I picked up my friend and we went off to take a class with Shirley. I had a bit of an off day messing up one of the cards and getting myself upset over it. I didn't sleep well and am just a bit tense at the moment. Silly me, after all it was only a card! After class we stopped and had some lunch at a little cafe and then I dropped Fran home. Was only home long enough to put on some more washing, wash my OH's two pair of dress trousers by hand and hang out to drip dry and Fran rang to let me know the craft shop had rung and told her there were a couple of stamps arrived that we had ordered so she picked me up and we went up to get them. Home again to do some more house work. I also looked through a couple of bags of music someone had given me and chose quite a few to keep, then went through them again and thought they would probably end up just cluttering the place up and ended up only keeping two pieces! Now I just need to pass them on to another friend and she can deal with them. I am slowly decluttering the dining room table and putting it back in the craft room. It's another day closer to the wedding! and our minister arrives on Thursday, still have to get the room ready for him to stay in. He's a friend and lives interstate and was happy to come back to perform the wedding ceremony for our son.
Well enough chatter and onto sharing my card for today.
The basecard is SU Certainly Celery, the DP is from My Mind's Eye. The image is from Phindys Place and is called Connection. I coloured it with Copic Markers and then used a Tombo Marker to ink the sentiment from Hero Arts. I also did the inside of my card with the DP and a white nestie which I layered onto a piece of Certainly Celery and trimmed around it.
