A fun card for a 60th
Hello everyone, did you have a great weekend? I commenced mine early Saturday morning by going to a fitness session. I'm once again doing an 8 week challenge, but this time our son isn't living at home, so I am on my own food wise. Hubby will eat most things so hopefully he will be happy with whatever food he gets. We had to do weigh in and measurements and then do set exercises to see how many we could do in a certain time allotment. Then we are on our own food and exercise wise during the week (some suggestions food wise and lots of set exercises! - I'm going to have to google the different dumbell ones as I can't remember the actions.) In 4 weeks time she does another lot of testing to see how we are going and then the final testing 4 weeks after that. She has an incentive prize of $100 free personal training sessions. I don't think I will be in the running for that as there are several people who are already reasonably fit and active and motivated, lol.
My friend turned the big 60 this past week and had her party on Saturday (also my wedding anniversary). It was a lovely night. The weather was just right - they had forecast rain earlier in the week and luckily it had continued to be fine which is a bit unusual for our Autumn weather. Luckily my challenge starts today or I would have had to not eat any of the lovely supper that she and her family arranged.
I made her a card using an image of some older women riding in a Volkswagen beetle. Fran has just recently acquired one of these and her hubby has been getting it up to scratch for her. It is now roadworthy and passed its inspections and registered to be driven on the road.
Here's the card.....
Recipe:
Blue card from stash
White card from Quill
SU Crumb Cake cardstock
Black cardstock
DP from Sugar & Spice Studio - Outdoor Adventure 12x 12 paper pad
Image is one a friend stamped off for me - I think it is Arty Impressions
Sentiment was an internet find
Sizzix alphabet die for the number 60
Copic markers
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
I cut a piece of DP and added a piece of the crumb cake cardstock to make the background and then cut out 3 trees from another piece of DP and added them in a descending line to create the side of the road. The roadway is a piece of black cardstock with a white line made using a gel pen. I created a stop sign using circle punches and added some die cut numbers. Added the image coming down the road and the sentiment and viola it was finished!!!
I thought the sentiment very appropriate for my friend as her VW is a convertible and also once she stripped off her top and drove home from work in her bra!!!(because it had shaving cream all over it from a prank her and a few friends played on someone who was getting married.) I think the only person that noticed was the bus driver who pulled up next to her when she had to stop at a red light, lol. Luckily she only lives about 5 min drive from her old workplace.
I have Isaac to babysit today so better go and check on him. He is in a movie watching mood and has Monsters Inc on. I also have to get a load of work clothes washed and dried. Hubby will be away for a couple of days on a work trip and it's not a good day weather wise, we've already had some rain!!!

Challenge #13 Baby's First Christmas
Time for another challenge at Completely Christmas. It's nearly the end of May and for lots of us there is the need to be making Christmas cards, tags, decorations etc. Sometimes Christmas time can be pretty stressful with all the food organisation and house work (especially putting my craft bits and pieces away for a while!!!)
so I know making my cards throughout the year is just what I need to do and you can to and enjoy entering the challenges as well. There is always a wonderful prize from a sponsor each week too.
Our sponsor this week is Stitchy Bear Stamps and I chose this cute image to make my card with.
Here is the card.....
Recipe:
Pink cardstock from stash - I used nestie grand scalloped circle to make a bauble shaped card.
DP from my scrap pile
White cardstock
Gold shiny cardstock from stash
Image is Baby Baubles - Awww Baby
Sentiment was made on the computer
Nesties - Grand Circle dies and Classic Circles - large
- Deckled Oval die
Decorative label punch - cut in half to form top of bauble
Ribbon from stash
Copic Markers
Memento black inkpad
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
Hole Punch
We would love to see you entering the challenge this week. Don't forget to check out the DT cards and blogs too.
I've got to go get ready for a friend's 60th birthday celebration so will say goodbye for now.
Thanks for stopping by,

Challenge# 70 - "Ba Da Bling" with 613 Avenue Create
Oops, a bit late posting today. We've had the 3 grandchildren over the weekend and when they went home, I decided to do a bit of sorting through a few boxes of craft bits and pieces and try to cull some stuff. Ended up with most of it back in the box. I should be just ruthless and empty the whole box without looking as what I kept probably won't make it onto any of my projects in the near future!!! Are you in the same boat and keep things because you might just need it? I ended up adding to my card and DP scraps - I think I need some time to do a bit of diecutting to use up some of the scraps or maybe stamps some sentiments for later.
Anyhow, I had better get on and share my card for the design team as it is tea time and hubby's stomach is probably growling by now, lol.
The challenge is Anything Goes (as usual) with an Optional Twist. This week we want to see lots of bling.
Our sponsors this week are Beansie Doodles and Delicious Doodles. The image I got to play with, is from Delicious Doodles. Check out the blog and see the rest of the DT's creations.
Here is my card........ I think this would be suitable for a male or female.
SU Basic Black cardstock
White card from stash
DP is from
Image is Valentina from Delicious Doodles
Sentiment is from SU
Bling is from stash (I've used a swirl, a corner bling and also placed bling all along the edge of the DP)
Copic Markers
Foam Dots
Circle Punches
Memento Black inkpad
I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Sister Act Card Challenge - Challenge # 55 ~ Anything Goes
Thanks to all of you that entered our last challenge and to the winners, top 3 and honourable mentions. Lots of lovely creations to look at!!! We are all looking forward to what you come up with this week - so get busy and let us see all that bling (if you want to add the twist)

Challenge #10 - Completely Christmas with Lacy Sunshine
Hi everyone, it's the weekend once more and I've had an up and down week. I got in on an emergency appointment to the Dentist on Monday morning and had to take our grandson with me as it was one of my babysitting days. Ended up having a tooth pulled after much discussion whether it was actually the right tooth that was causing all my trouble. I've been in pain now for a week with my gum healing. It's still not all closed over and I can't open my mouth fully so it's been fun trying to eat as well, lol. Now I'm wondering if it is the other tooth causing some of the problems too. Just waiting for everything to heal and settle down (hopefully). We had the 3 grandchildren last night, today and tonight again. They were all tucked up and fast asleep as I got stuck into finishing this card late last night. I just have not felt well enough to sit and do much crafting at home this week.
This card is showcasing a Lacy Sunshine image for the start of another challenge at Completely Christmas Challenge Blog. You can make a card, a layout or a decoration, as long as it is Christmas themed. If you've been making cards and playing along with us, you should now have 10 cards for your stash at least, lol.
Recipe:
SU Kiwi Kiss cardstock for the cardbase
Purple cardstock from stash
White cardstock from stash
DP is from Forever Friends Kraft Notes
Image is Winter Lizabeth from Lacy Sunshine
Sentiment is from SU More Merry Messages
Nestie Dies - Classic Ovals - Large

La La Land Heart Banner Die (thanks to Shirley for lending me the die to cut some for future use)

D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
I am entering my card into the following challenges:
Alphabet Challenge Blog - "F" for Feathers
CHNC - May Challenge Extra - Anything Goes Christmas
Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - May
Well I had better push off as I'm writing this up in the early hours of today so I don't forget later. With the grandies here that could be quite possible!!!
The Design Team would love to see your Christmas creations so pop over to the challenge blog and link up and one of us will pop in to see you!
Hugs,
Sandy
