It was my day at the Community Craft where I teach. I hadn't had time to prepare anything and my 1 student, lol. hadn't finished the card we started last week so we spent time fixing that and before I left home, I had printed out some images and tags for her to choose from and we made our cards up as we went. Last GD card for Sentimental Sundays Challenge#195 - Create your own background

I've enjoyed my Guest Designer spot at Sentimental Sundays and had lots of fun creating the cards to share.
This week the sponsor is Oak Pond Creations.  This is my second post for today, so scroll down and check out my other post and I would love to hear from you too.
Today we had an engagement party to go to so I didn't go to church as I didn't think going dressed up in my finery would have looked good under my choir top( a bit too much, I think) and we didn't have time to come home in between to get dressed before going to the party. It was a lovely day weather wise and it was held in the courtyard of the school of our friend's fiancee. It all went well - they had a barbeque and then had an icecream van come in for an hour and serve icecream cones, gelatto and coffee. Hubby helped them to pack up at the end of the party and I was getting a bit anxious to get home so I could change and then head to the shop to pick up the low fat milk that our youngest son and I are using on our 8 week food and fitness challenge. Supermarkets open late on Sundays so didn't have time to pop out early morning to get it.
The sponsor this week is Oak Pond Creations and the theme is to make your own background. I chose to make mine using a large background stamp from Stampin' Up.
Here is the card...... I knew what I wanted to do but was a bit stumped for the background and ended up buying myself a stencil with  stars within circles to try out and maybe use a sentiment like - You're a knockout but I had gone along to my friend Shirley's to craft  on Friday and she had this fabulous woodgrain background stamp and it was perfect! I stamped that and hung my gloves on the wall and then finished it off at home with the other elements that I had envisioned.

Recipe:
SU Crumb cake cardstock
Beige textured cardstock from stash
Image is boxing gloves from Oak Pond Creations
Background stamp from SU (thanks for sharing with me Shirley!)
Other images, boxer, tickets are internet finds ( I love this vintage boxer!)
Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday clear stamp set - Incredible by Ali Edwards
Oval Punch
Copic Markers
Memento Black inkpad
SU Baked Brown Sugar inkpad
Brad from my friend Shirley's stash
Pearls from my stash
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots

I am entering the following challenges:
My Sheri Crafts - Challenge #127 ~ Vintage Guy
A little bit Crafty - February challenge ~ Man Up!
Crafty Girls Challenge - Challenge 12 ~ Anything Goes

It's getting late evening here in Adelaide and I'm a bit tired so will finish off. Before I go I would encourage you to pop by the challenge blog and check out the wonderful, inspiring cards from the DT and join in the challenge. We would love to see what you create.
Thanks for stopping by,

A new week and that means a New Linky Party begins at Make It Monday. We had over 200 hundred entries last week. All wonderful creations. I hope you managed to check some of them out! I was a bit late with my commenting due to a very painful shoulder. I just haven't been able to sit at the computer for very long at all. Yesterday  was the first time I drove the car since Friday and I still had a bit of trouble using my left arm to take the handbrake off and I can't fully extend it upwards without pain, but it is a lot better than it was Saturday and Sunday.
If you would like to you can scroll down and check out my previous post that I popped on late last night for Sentimental Sundays Guest Designer Spot. I would appreciate if you left a comment so I know you've been!

D/S tape roller
Bling from stash

Time for some fun as I share a couple of the entries from last week.

Challenge #194 "Pack a Punch" with Sentimental Sundays

I have been so sore the last couple of days, I've been going to a personal trainer for a few weeks and I had a lot of lower abdominal pain from doing scrunches!!! and by Thursday night I had a very painful shoulder and neck to add to the other pain. Not sure why that was hurting, maybe didn't lift the weights correctly? So the last few days I really haven't been able to do much. it's slowly improving. My tummy muscles are feeling a lot better, lol.
My DT commenting has suffered a bit and had to finish up some of them today before one challenge finished. I usually like to stay up to date every couple of days so there is not so much to do at the last minute. Life has a way of interfering.
A new challenge starts today at Sentimental Sundays and I am lucky enough to be one of the Guest Designers for this month. The Theme is "Pack a Punch" use a punch or diecut
The sponsor this week is the wonderful Doodle Pantry and I chose this fun image to play with.
Here is my card.....A fairly simple card using just some DP and a couple of different diecuts.

Recipe:
SU Basic Black cardstock
SU Bashful Blue cardstock
White card from stash
DP is from 6x6 mini stack from Merci ~ they don't have names, but it is a boy themed paper pack.

Nestie Dies - Circles - Standard ~ large and small,
                   - Labels Twenty-Nine

The team at Sentimental Sundays would love to see you dropping off an entry (or 3) this week so why not get busy and make something. Not a hard task to do this week and it can be a card for any occasion, just remember to add a sentiment on the front.
Thanks for stopping by,

Bird on a teacup

It's the weekend, our grandies have just gone home after having a sleep over so Mum and Dad could go out for Valentine's Day. No rain so far today so the ceiling in the back room has stopped leaking thank goodness. We ended up with 3 leaks in different spots, so was up about 5 a.m. visiting the bathroom and thought I could here water dripping. Had to get hubby up to help move the tv over as we had sprung a leak over the tv cabinet, some of the DVD's that hadn't been put in the cupboard were wet and some of the photo frames. Glad I noticed it then, or everything would have been ruined!!!
We were supposed to have more rain today but so far it's been fine but still with a cool breeze. It's pretty quiet here at the moment without the kids playing with the lego and other toys. Our youngest son has gone out and hubby is off helping to move some baby furniture from one son's house to our daughter's house.
On  Friday I went to Shirley's with my friend Jane and did one card (normally I colour images, but too sore to sit like that for too long) and a lot of chatting. Shirley let me use one of her Krafty Hands toppers to make a card. She said choose one and there's the cardstock and go into my craft room and find some paper to use as well. So by the time we left I had put my card together except for the sentiment which I finished off this morning. Shirley had to give me a couple of pain killers to try and dull a very sore shoulder and painful abdominal muscles too. Thanks, Shirley, they helped take the edge off a bit.
Here is the scan of my card...... isn't this a sweet image?

Recipe:
SU Cajun Craze cardstock for the basecard and mattes
DP is from Lily of the Valley
Image is from Kraftyhands - Tea Cup Zoo (contains 12 toppers)
Sentiment is from SU Express Yourself
Bling from stash
Punches - Word window and Decorative Label Punch
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
Bling from Shirley's stash!!!

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Kraftyhands challenge - February challenge ~ Spring Flowers ( I hope it fits the theme)

Hope you are having a fabulous weekend and hope to see you soon.
Thanks to everyone that has popped in to check out my creations,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy

Wow, we have rain!!! a welcome relief from the 43C temp of yesterday. It's still warm in the house but can open up the windows and doors and let the cooler air sweep through! Hope you are coping with whatever weather is happening in your part of the world.
It was too hot for our community craft group yesterday so stayed here at home with my grandson, youngest son (who was unwell) and hubby (he came home due to the heat, over 37 and they all knock off work)

Here's a close up of the 3D image ~ she does have a face of sorts, lol.... just a couple of eyes and some rosy cheeks and that's it.

Recipe:

White card scrap
DP  on background is  from Grace Taylor (I think - I've lost the cover of the paper pad)

Second Post Today ~ Challenge #193 - All Dressed Up ~ Sentimental Sundays GD card

This is my second post for today, Please take the time to scroll down and check out my DT card for 613 Avenue Create. It's now late evening here and I think I'm going to have an early night (unusual for me, but I'm tired!)  Our youngest son arrives home tomorrow from Vietnam where he has been visiting his wife for the last two weeks. They are still waiting on her visa - it's been hard on them being apart for the last 8 1/2 months. They were told it would take at least 9 months so hopefully the visa will come through soon. I'm sure it won't be easy for them to say goodbye today when he heads off to catch his plane home.
Today is my second week as GD at Sentimental Sundays and this week the theme is "All Dressed Up" - add sparkles, bling and buttons.  Oops, I didn't read that properly - I just went with the All dressed up bit as I mainly do CAS and the flowers and netted ribbon would be things I don't use much of. If you join the challenge, don't forget to add the embellishments that I left off, lol.
The sponsor for this challenge is All Dressed Up Stamps

Here is my card, I've used my favourite colour purple and added green ( a favourite combo) and cream

I'm off to get some "beauty" rest. I have our youngest grandchild to babysit tomorrow, Laurie comes home in the morning and our eldest daughter (very pregnant, lol) is picking him up from the airport and staying to play with a shadow box. She wants to add a couple of photos and the flamingo's they used on their cake from their engagement party. They had a themed engagement so everyone came dressed as something or somebody starting with an F which is the first letter of her married name. I suppose she will want to do some of their wedding photos at some stage. It's taken her this long to do the engagement ones so it will probably not be anytime soon, lol.
Hope you head over to Sentimental Sundays Challenge Blog and join in the challenge and don't forget the embellishments and a sentiment too.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy

Guest Designer Spot at Sentimental Sundays Challenge #192

Yeah! I have a month's GDS at Sentimental Sundays. Today has been another scorcher - over 44 C and I had to go to a 3 hour choir rehearsal, not much fun singing in Latin in the heat!!! We have only just started learning it for our first concert this year.
Anyhow, back to this week's challenge at Sentimental Sundays, The theme is for a Special Lady using Pastel Colours and the sponsor is the fabulous Bugaboo Digi Stamps
I got to play with this fun image - Ruby Calendar Months - October . I chose to colour her hair all one colour (including the little leaves and pumpkins)
Here is the card I made to share...... it's for a special friend to celebrate her finishing her latest degree in her nursing career, but it would also be suitable for a birthday card too!.

Recipe:
SU Bashful Blue cardstock for the cardbase
SU Pink Pirouette
Image is Bugaboo - Ruby Calendar Months - October
Sentiments are diecuts from Kaisercraft collectables - Confetti
Nestie Die - Romantic Rectangles
DP is from Mini Deco Paper Medley Pastel Patterns ( I've had this a long time, lol)

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Challenge #38 ~ Anything Goes
One Stitch At A Time - Challenge #198 ~ Anything Goes

That's it from me, starting to melt here in front of the computer. I need to get back to the air conditioner to
cool down, so.......
We would love to see you popping in and joining in the challenge this week. Can't wait to check out some of your blogs.
Thanks for stopping by,
Hugs,
Sandy
