I've enjoyed my Guest Designer spot at Sentimental Sundays and had lots of fun creating the cards to share.
This week the sponsor is Oak Pond Creations. This is my second post for today, so scroll down and check out my other post and I would love to hear from you too.
Today we had an engagement party to go to so I didn't go to church as I didn't think going dressed up in my finery would have looked good under my choir top( a bit too much, I think) and we didn't have time to come home in between to get dressed before going to the party. It was a lovely day weather wise and it was held in the courtyard of the school of our friend's fiancee. It all went well - they had a barbeque and then had an icecream van come in for an hour and serve icecream cones, gelatto and coffee. Hubby helped them to pack up at the end of the party and I was getting a bit anxious to get home so I could change and then head to the shop to pick up the low fat milk that our youngest son and I are using on our 8 week food and fitness challenge. Supermarkets open late on Sundays so didn't have time to pop out early morning to get it.
The sponsor this week is Oak Pond Creations and the theme is to make your own background. I chose to make mine using a large background stamp from Stampin' Up.
Here is the card...... I knew what I wanted to do but was a bit stumped for the background and ended up buying myself a stencil with stars within circles to try out and maybe use a sentiment like - You're a knockout but I had gone along to my friend Shirley's to craft on Friday and she had this fabulous woodgrain background stamp and it was perfect! I stamped that and hung my gloves on the wall and then finished it off at home with the other elements that I had envisioned.
Recipe:
SU Crumb cake cardstock
Beige textured cardstock from stash
Image is boxing gloves from Oak Pond Creations
Background stamp from SU (thanks for sharing with me Shirley!)
Other images, boxer, tickets are internet finds ( I love this vintage boxer!)
Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday clear stamp set - Incredible by Ali Edwards
Oval Punch
Copic Markers
Memento Black inkpad
SU Baked Brown Sugar inkpad
Brad from my friend Shirley's stash
Pearls from my stash
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots
