Yeah, finally got my hair dyed professionally after several years of either myself or my daughter doing it. Hairdresser sort of complained about the various colours in my hair as I wanted to dye it and also have some highlights so it would look nice for our daughter's wedding which is now only 16 days away!!! We also have another family wedding to go to in 8 days so thought today was a good day for an appointment at the hair salon. More running around buying bits and pieces for the reception, more hessian for another runner for the signing table and a quick meal out with friends before coming back to work on some thank you tags.
Now....onto my post for the new challenge starting today at Crafty Girls Creations. An Anything Goes challenge blog which makes it really easy to join in the fun and be in the running for a great prize from our sponsor, The Fantasy Art of Nikki Burnette

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges - Challenge#1
Back again with my second post for today and the news that I have joined the DT of Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges. The challenge blog has been in hiatus since last year having a bit of an overhaul and changing to a monthly challenge. There are quite a few of the DT team who stayed on and there are 10 newbies starting fresh for the first challenge of the year. Our sponsors for the challenge are Smeared Ink (who have now closed) Imagine That and Doodle Pantry
The theme for the challenge is "Something New" - so a new product or try a new technique etc. Please make sure you add what you are doing or using as your "New" to your blog post.
Here is my project. My "New" thing is making a gift box with notelets and using the "Bokeh" technique on my little cards.
A couple of photos to show the notelet cards and the little box in a closer view.
Recipe:
SU Baked Brown Sugar cardstock for the box, cardbases and punched circle
White cardstock from stash for sentiment, image and card mattes
DP was a scrap from SU designer paper
Image and sentiment (on box) are from Doodle Pantry - Balloon Ants
Sentiments on cards from various stamp sets
I used several SU inkpads to make the Bokeh effect on the notelets
Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
Circle punches
D/S tape roller and Foam Dots
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to see you joining in the fun of our first challenge for the year. Don't forget you have a whole month to get crafty and enter.
Take Care,
Hugs, Sandy

Time to Celebrate with our 3rd Annual Block Party
Hi everyone, yeah!!! we are celebrating our 3rd year at 613 Avenue Create with our Annual Block Party. The Optional Theme for challenge #158 is Happy Birthday or Anniversary. I've made a birthday card, but I've added the birthday sentiment to the inside as I really liked this "Hello Friend" sentiment from my new Tim Holtz set of stamps my friend Jane gave me for my birthday. Thanks so much, Jane. Love them.
Our sponsors for the challenge are - Sami Stamps and Bugaboo Stamps
I've been really short on time lately due to wedding preparations and we are also going to have a short holiday just driving interstate and staying with an old friend for a week. Then back home with just 3 weeks left before the wedding. So crafting has been unfortunately the last thing on my mind. I only got my image late afternoon yesterday and then we were out from 6 p.m. till midnight catching up with another old friend for dinner and then a walk through town to find somewhere for coffee. She came in on the bus, so we drove her home and had a tour around her now well established garden. Really beautiful.
Recipe:
Brown cardstock from stash
White cardstock from stash
DP is from Trimcraft - 6x6 paper pad ~ Monochrome
Image from Sami Stamps - Rose Girl
Sentiment if from Tim Holtz ~ Stampers Anonymous ~ Crazy Talk stamp set
I pinched the lace from the pile I bought for wedding decorations, lol
Copic Markers
Punches - Large Oval and Scalloped Oval
SU Real Red inkpad
D/S tape roller & foam dots
That's it for this post. I have a busy day today catching up on some DT cards that will need to be made and scheduled posts for while I'm away.
Love to see you popping in to the neighborhood with an entry.
Take Care,
Hugs, Sandy

Challenge 93 at Crafting From The Heart
Hi all, a quick post to share my DT card for the new challenge starting today at Crafting From The Heart.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Aurora Wings and my fellow teamies have created some wonderful makes to inspire you and showcase Aurora Wings designs.
Here is what I came up with........ I took 3 different pics to show the different aspects of the card. The first one didn't turn out that well but the image shows nicely. Recipe:
White cardstock from stash
DP from Santoro London 6x6 paper pad
Grey shimmery paper for the diecut and matte
Image is from Aurora Wings - Wedding Couple
Sentiments are from SU - Simply Wonderful and Heard From the Heart stamp sets
Spellbinders dies - Floral Ovals and Labels Twenty
Copic Markers
Wink of Stella - clear ~ used on the "Congrats" sentiment
Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
D/S tape roller & foam dots
Hope to see you hopping over to the challenge blog and entering the challenge.
