Vintage Man and Bike

It was my day at the Community Craft where I teach. I hadn't had time to prepare anything and my 1 student, lol. hadn't finished the card we started last week so we spent time fixing that and before I left home, I had printed out some images and tags for her to choose from and we made our cards up as we went. They both turned out different, with hers just using the image and music background to make a basic card and mine with the extra little panel and flourish stamp.
Here is what I came up with........

Recipe:
Brown cardstock from stash
Black cardstock from stash
SU Sahara Sand
Image was a freebie on one of the vintage freebie sites on the net (found it through Free Digital Stamps site)
Music background was made using SU large background stamp - Musical Score
Flourish is from Kaisercraft clear set  called Flourishes
Sentiment is SU - It's Your Day set of 2
SU Early Espresso inkpad
Tim Holtz Distress Ink - Gathered Twigs
Oval Punch

Last GD card for Sentimental Sundays Challenge#195 - Create your own background

I've enjoyed my Guest Designer spot at Sentimental Sundays and had lots of fun creating the cards to share.
This week the sponsor is Oak Pond Creations.  This is my second post for today, so scroll down and check out my other post and I would love to hear from you too.
Today we had an engagement party to go to so I didn't go to church as I didn't think going dressed up in my finery would have looked good under my choir top( a bit too much, I think) and we didn't have time to come home in between to get dressed before going to the party. It was a lovely day weather wise and it was held in the courtyard of the school of our friend's fiancee. It all went well - they had a barbeque and then had an icecream van come in for an hour and serve icecream cones, gelatto and coffee. Hubby helped them to pack up at the end of the party and I was getting a bit anxious to get home so I could change and then head to the shop to pick up the low fat milk that our youngest son and I are using on our 8 week food and fitness challenge. Supermarkets open late on Sundays so didn't have time to pop out early morning to get it.
The sponsor this week is Oak Pond Creations and the theme is to make your own background. I chose to make mine using a large background stamp from Stampin' Up.
Here is the card...... I knew what I wanted to do but was a bit stumped for the background and ended up buying myself a stencil with  stars within circles to try out and maybe use a sentiment like - You're a knockout but I had gone along to my friend Shirley's to craft  on Friday and she had this fabulous woodgrain background stamp and it was perfect! I stamped that and hung my gloves on the wall and then finished it off at home with the other elements that I had envisioned.

Recipe:
SU Crumb cake cardstock
Beige textured cardstock from stash
Image is boxing gloves from Oak Pond Creations
Background stamp from SU (thanks for sharing with me Shirley!)
Other images, boxer, tickets are internet finds ( I love this vintage boxer!)
Sentiment is from Technique Tuesday clear stamp set - Incredible by Ali Edwards
Oval Punch
Copic Markers
Memento Black inkpad
SU Baked Brown Sugar inkpad
Brad from my friend Shirley's stash
Pearls from my stash
D/S tape roller
Foam Dots

I am entering the following challenges:
My Sheri Crafts - Challenge #127 ~ Vintage Guy
A little bit Crafty - February challenge ~ Man Up!
Crafty Girls Challenge - Challenge 12 ~ Anything Goes

It's getting late evening here in Adelaide and I'm a bit tired so will finish off. Before I go I would encourage you to pop by the challenge blog and check out the wonderful, inspiring cards from the DT and join in the challenge. We would love to see what you create.
Thanks for stopping by,

MIM #179 With Love - A Valentine with Bugaboo

A new week and that means a New Linky Party begins at Make It Monday. We had over 200 hundred entries last week. All wonderful creations. I hope you managed to check some of them out! I was a bit late with my commenting due to a very painful shoulder. I just haven't been able to sit at the computer for very long at all. Yesterday  was the first time I drove the car since Friday and I still had a bit of trouble using my left arm to take the handbrake off and I can't fully extend it upwards without pain, but it is a lot better than it was Saturday and Sunday.
If you would like to you can scroll down and check out my previous post that I popped on late last night for Sentimental Sundays Guest Designer Spot. I would appreciate if you left a comment so I know you've been!

This week at Make It Monday, we are being sponsored by the ever popular, Bugaboo Stamps

SU Basic Black cardstock for the cardbase
SU Real Red cardstock for the mattes, lettering and hearts.
White cardstock from stash
DP is from 6xc6 mini stack from merci (another one that doesn't put any names on their paper pads)
It doesn't show well in the picture - it is actually a light grey with white hearts!!!
Image is Bugaboo Brat - Izzy Flower from Bugaboo Stamps
The hearts are from a punch (not sure of the maker, I've had it a quite a long time)
Sentiment is made using a Sizzix Alphabet die - Baby face
Copic Markers
Heart washi tape from stash
D/S tape roller
Bling from stash

Time for some fun as I share a couple of the entries from last week.
My POTW entries are:
This one is from Lorraine at Over the Rainebeau and you can find it here on her blog. There are lots of other pics as well. She has a tag and an altered box and other projects as well as some freebie vintage images to share. Make sure you check it out!!!

The second one comes from Nicole at Nicole's Craft Nook. A delightful CAS card and you cand find it here

Just waiting for our grandson to come so will finish my post off now by encouraging you all to check out the DT blogs and leave some comments to let us know how we did this week and we would love to see you dropping off an entry or two at the Linky Party too! Challenge #194 "Pack a Punch" with Sentimental Sundays

I have been so sore the last couple of days, I've been going to a personal trainer for a few weeks and I had a lot of lower abdominal pain from doing scrunches!!! and by Thursday night I had a very painful shoulder and neck to add to the other pain. Not sure why that was hurting, maybe didn't lift the weights correctly? So the last few days I really haven't been able to do much. it's slowly improving. My tummy muscles are feeling a lot better, lol.
My DT commenting has suffered a bit and had to finish up some of them today before one challenge finished. I usually like to stay up to date every couple of days so there is not so much to do at the last minute. Life has a way of interfering.
A new challenge starts today at Sentimental Sundays and I am lucky enough to be one of the Guest Designers for this month. The Theme is "Pack a Punch" use a punch or diecut
The sponsor this week is the wonderful Doodle Pantry and I chose this fun image to play with.
Here is my card.....A fairly simple card using just some DP and a couple of different diecuts.

Recipe:
SU Basic Black cardstock
SU Bashful Blue cardstock
White card from stash
DP is from 6x6 mini stack from Merci ~ they don't have names, but it is a boy themed paper pack.
Image and sentiment are from the set  Toy Truck Ants from Doodle Pantry
Nestie Dies - Circles - Standard ~ large and small,
                   - Labels Twenty-Nine
Copic Markers
Foam Dots
D/S tape roller
Black Bling from stash

I am entering this into the following challenges:
CAS on Sunday - Challenge # 27 ~ Masculine Card
One Stitch At A Time - Challenge #200 ~ Use a digi
Crafts Galore Encore Challenge - Challenge #2 ~  Add a gem. or glitter or candy or any bling you fancy
Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge - February ~ must use patterned paper
Brown Sugar - Challenge #81 ~ Use a Die Cut or Punch

The team at Sentimental Sundays would love to see you dropping off an entry (or 3) this week so why not get busy and make something. Not a hard task to do this week and it can be a card for any occasion, just remember to add a sentiment on the front.
Thanks for stopping by,
Take Care,
Hugs,
Sandy
