Greetings from Adelaide, welcome to everyone that is popping in to find out what I've made today. Welcome also to new follower Anne-Marie who has become my 25th follower, I started off with 1 and thought that would be about it, so am happy to see that people sometimes find cards that interest them.
Had a quiet day today, cut a few bits and pieces with the cuttlebug and stamped a couple of images and made this one for today's post.
Image and sentiment are from SU set "Because I Care" Base card is a light purple from stash, the die cut is a pale greeny/blue with a piece of white card behind it, I stamped parts of the hydrangea stamp onto this as a background using a Marvy Marker and also distressed the edges with the same colour. Image is also stamped with the same blue.I used a blender pen to drag the ink from the image to colour it in. Ribbon came from stash also, a mixed packet of purple ribbons. I love the little scalloped edge!. A bit of pearl bling in the corner and voila it is finished.
Take care,
Sandy

Butterfly Queen
Welcome to my blog today. Not very much happening here today, i went to craft and helped one of the ladies in my group to stamp an image and colour it using a water brush. She is fairly new to stamping after doing mostly paper embroidery cards.
Thanks to all of you who have been stopping by and adding comments to some of my posts. I love reading them and seeing where people come from as well.
My card today is from one of my e-bay finds and the butterfly and sentiment come from a SU stamp set called "Great Friend" I used a black Marvy Marker for the sentiment and Pink Passion SU ink for the butterfly, The image was inked in SU Close to Cocoa. Brown card base from stash and I can't remember the DSP name. I added a bit of pale green bling to the butterfly for the body.
So take care,
Sandy

Wings in Blue
Hello, welcome to my blog today, I have been to Shirley's today and had an enjoyable time making 3 cards and chatting over a cup of tea. Doug, (Shirley's husband, who is recovering from a stroke) was in fine form after having a fall 2 weeks ago? It was good to see him doing so well, happy and even out and about on his gopher although it was pretty nippy here today and he was a bit cold when he got back from his outing!
I had choir practise tonight, so was home late evening, still time to make a card.
I've been playing again and decided to make another card with mostly blue tones. I think all the papers are from SU and the image is from another stamp I picked up secondhand on the weekend. Something a bit different for me, being a collage instead of a simple image. I used one of my punches several weeks ago to use up scrap bits and pieces and made the flower. It was just pure luck they were blue LOL!
Anyway hope you find it interesting. I'm entering this one into Gill's Challenge, the theme is mostly blue shades.
Take care and thanks for stopping by and leaving comments for me,
Sandy

Oh happy day!
Well it was a surprise to find myself as the featured blogger on MIM, thanks to those who left comments on my two cards I entered. Thanks also to MIM team.
Also welcome to new follower Susan.
It is another very cold night here in Adelaide after a nice sunny day, I even got 3 loads of washing out on the line and it actually dried!!
I took my Mum to the hospital today to meet up with her sister who had come down from the country for an appointment. I left them and went off for a while and came back later. I had to go around the carpark many times and kept missing parks because of new people driving in off the streets getting to them before me, I finally found one, put my blinker on while I waited for the man to hop in his vehicle and back out. A woman came in off the street, saw me sitting there with my blinker on and just drove straight into my park. I beeped her and then as she got out I told her politely at first that it was my park and that she could see I was waiting. She locked up and continued on her merry way, with the steam coming out of my ears!! I told her she was a wicked woman. LOL, it was the best I could do. Anyway, I ended up with a better park closer which was good, because Mum uses a walker and her back gets really bad if she has to go too far.
Well, getting to the reason for my post. I've made this card for Gill's challenge which has to have the colour blue as it's main focus.
I hope this fits the criteria. The card base is navy blue with two different blue designer papers and the image has quite a bit of blue as well. The sentiment is stamped with SU ink "Night of Navy". I used the flip side of the bottom piece of DSP to stamp the sentiment on.
I'm also entering it into Just Some Lines Challenge and MIM linky party
I think this card could be used for several occassions, retirement, holiday, birthday
Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day,
Take care,
Sandy

Critter Christmas
Hello to anyone stopping by today, I had a good time at Shirley's today and made another 3 fab card, simple but lovely. We then made up a few bag toppers and tags that Shirley had bought a few years ago as a kit. Very quick to put together but we can use those ideas to make up something of our own.
I came home to finish off a bit more washing and then made this card for the Less Is More Challenge which is a sketch challenge this week.
I've used my favourite colour purple and these cute Penny Black images and a sentiment from SU set "Heard from the Heart".
I coloured it with Marvy Markers and the sentiment is stamped in Basic Grey - the purple snowflake paper came from Shirley's stash, some of which she generously gave my friend Jane and I this afternoon.
I hope this meets the challenge criteria, I'm not a big fan of square cards so have made the normal size card I usually make,
Take care,
Sandy

Mother and Child
Welcome to my blog, hope your weekend is going well, I've been playing around with a couple of images tonight but finally decided to make this one, it's a second hand stamp and I think it is a bit worn out in spots, so I had a bit of difficulty getting a good print. I ended up putting it face up and placing the card on top and pressing with the back of another stamp. I stamped it on white card in Basic Grey and then did a fair bit of ink distressing as well as distressing the edges of the paper. It's mounted onto DSP which I also inked the edges and then onto white card which was again distressed with a blue ink, more DSP and then onto a brown base card. I'm going to enter this into the next MIM Linky Party

A New Age
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you are finding something to interest you here on my blog. Layla has gone home to Mum, Dad, sister and baby brother so it's quiet here. I haven't been well today and had to ask my daughter to drive from her place to my home and then use my car to take Layla home to my DIL. She then had to drive back here and get her car back. It's about an hour trip from here to their home and my daughter is about halfway between so it took her a while going back and forth, luckily she didn't have to start work until 3 p.m.
Anyway, enough chatter, LOL, here is the card I made tonight, it must of been exciting for the women to be able to get themselves around on these new contraptions, the stamped image is done in Really Rust and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler. I found this lovely DS paper the other day and I think it goes well with the brown base card - I used a Nellie Snellen to make the die cut rectangle.
I'm off to sleep as I can hardly keep my eyes open,
So have a great day/night and see you soon,
Sandy

Lady with Feather Fan
Hello, well it's another late post - just couldn't get my act together - still tired. Tonight's card is an image from a stamp I nearly bought but didn't and my friend got it instead, It's lovely and now I wish I had picked it up - maybe another time! It's stamped on Very Vanilla and matted on choc chip then again onto Very Vanilla and then onto a Choc Chip Base card.
This is the first time I have tried to put more embellishment on by using ribbon(cream with brown dots), a border punch, small pearls and these little spiral flowers I made. I hope it's okay. I think I am really a less is more type of person, but do love all the embellished cards I see on others blogs, just have a hard time doing it myself as I'm never quite sure if it's right. I'm going to enter this in MIM linky party and see how it fares.
Thanks for stopping by, hope to catch up with some of your blogs soon too!!
Take care,
Sandy

Adoring Fan!
Well, I missed posting yesterday, put my granddaughter to bed and as I usually hop in with her for a few minutes which is normally all it takes for her to drop off, LOL, found I dropped off as well and woke up at 11.30. That's when I started making my card. I tried colouring a couple of pre-stamped images but mucked them up and then had a go at this one with minimal colouring. Much better for my befuddled brain to work on.
Here it is,

Only a phone call away
Hello everyone. Welcome to my blog. I've been searching for a couple packets of clear stamps tonight which I was showing a friend a couple of days ago and I just can't find them. I remember putting them down before I went to the front door with her. LOL, my granddaughter (3) is staying with me for the week and because I was getting frustrated and saying I don't know where they are, she was trying to help as well and also kept saying the same thing, So, still didn't find them, they are only a thin packet so could be mixed up in papers and card.
Well after all the searching I did finally make a card, I've used a Nestabilities Die and SU card and paper - The woman's dress is coloured with a light purple copic marker. I also coloured the flesh in with Copics, but it really hasn't shown up on the scan. I'm going to enter this into the Make It Monday Linky Party.
Thanks for stopping by, going off to have another look for those stamps!!!

Welcome to the World
Hello again, this is my second post for today and the card I'm sharing is also for the Less is More Challenge this week with the theme of Monogram.
I've used a Whisper White cardstock for the base (I've put a darker colour behind only for the purpose of defining the card during scanning)
The image and sentiment are from two different SU sets and inked in Not Quite Navy and the letter B cut using one of my Cuttlebug Alpha Diesets.
Thanks for stopping by and also for the wonderful comments that some of you are leaving, they are much appreciated,
It's so windy here at present and it hasn't stopped raining since about 5 p.m. Hope you are keeping warm or cool LOL depending on where you live.

You're a Star
Hello to all who have stopped by today, It's a blowy, cold day today so I have the fire going and Layla (3) is snuggled up in bed having an afternoon nap.
The card I am sharing in this post is for the Less Is More Challenge which this week is a Monogram card. I hope this fits the criteria for the challenge.
I've cut out a star and used the letter S from one of my alphabet dies to represent "Star" and I've added a little tag with the word "Congratulations" on it.
The card could be used for possibly a graduation, an achievement of some type, maybe sport or even a work promotion.
The card had to have a reasonable open space and minimal embellishment, so hope this is okay.

Hugs, Kisses and Best Wishes!
Hi, slept in this morning as I didn't sleep very well. Went to a craft afternoon and then home and picked up my car. I drove to my daughter's and picked her up and then to my son's where we had pizza and then I brought my granddaughter home with me for the week.
Today's post is a card I started on Thursday but hadn't finished until today. I've used a SU background paper and distressed the image and also the sentiment around the edges. LOL, at Shirley's today we used this same image but a different style of background, if you go to her blog I think she has the tatty ted card posted on there.
Thanks for stopping by and to those who comment, it's much appreciated,
Take care,
Sandy

Baby Blue
Hello to all who are stopping by today. I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend. I've been out with a friend today, hit a few craft shops and then enjoyed an evening meal out at a Thai Restaurant, A good meal, nice and spicy too!
It's been quite a nice day even though we had some rain overnight and a bit later today, it was not really cold out and it didn't rain while we were out and about.
I've made a baby card tonight with this cute Magnolia image, but I am so fed up with my scanner, I coloured the baby's outfit a pale blue with a darker shade on the lace - I can't find anywhere on the scanner to alter the colour and the programme I edit in makes the whole card change colour but still not show the colouring up! AAAAGH!!!!
Anyway, trust me, LOL, it is coloured in!
Took a break after posting to think about this card and came up with a solution of sorts.
Okay, I wasn't happy with the colouring so I've now gone over it with a copic marker, it's still a bit rough but at least it shows up better, so I deleted the first picture and reloaded it after I touched it up a bit.
Thanks for looking,
Sandy

Fashion Trio
Hello, cold again with more rain. I suppose I have to concede it is Winter!! Tonight's post is a stamped image of a trio of ladies, all dressed up in their fashion outfits. I've used the same sentiment as in the last few posts, only because I was checking what the colour looked like on the Bashful Blue cardstock that I used yesterday and thought I shouldn't waste it and incorporated into this card. It's on a SU Choc Chip card with a matte from stock and then the Bashful Blue. I'm not happy with this scan - it always seems to make the darker colour stick out too much and the lighter colours a bit too faded. One of these days I will get one of the kids to show me the ins and outs of using the camera and uploading images.
Well here it is, and thanks for stopping by to check out my creations.
Take care,
Sandy

The Gift
Hello, still cold!!! and we've had rain tonight, hope the weather is better where you are. I've had time to make two cards as no choir practise tonight. At craft today I just took some images I stamped this morning so I could colour them and it gives me a bit of a stock pile to work from for future cards.
The one I am sharing is another vintage image and could be used for an anniversary or birthday card. I've used my nesties to feature the stamp and a sentiment from SU and the designer paper is from Madeline Collection "Parsley Place". Cardstock is SU Choc Chip and Bashful Blue, Rose Red (I think) and white card from stash.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for all the lovely comments left for me on recent posts.
Take care,
Sandy

Birthdays are like Flowers
Brrr!!! It's another cold night here in Adelaide and my lounge is a freezing spot to be! My eldest daughter dropped in her two dogs for an overnight stay and she had tea with my granddaughter and myself. Layla is fast asleep after reading her a story and I've had time to make this Tatty Ted card. I love these bear images, The sentiment comes from one of my first stamp sets I acquired - they are by See-D's and come in a CD style plastic container - a play on words! This set has flower images and several sentiments and I thought this one appropriate for the stamped image.
Well off to the Family room to keep warm,
So, Thanks for stopping by and hope you all had a nice day/evening.
Take care,
Sandy

Last Two Christmas Cards
Welcome to my blog today, just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely comments on my cards. Have been out at choir tonight and took my number two granddaughter with me, She was very good, sat on a blanket and played with her books and toys, ate a small packet of chips and drank her water. She was all rugged up in her jacket and a new scarf, hate and gloves set I bought her today. She is staying with me for the week so Mum can get a bit more rest to recover from her caesarean after having little Isaac.
Well, tonight I am sharing the final two cards that I've made for Shirley's Christmas Challenge. Fifty cards - all finished, I'm going to have a break now and probably do a few more later in the year to finish up how many I need.
Anyway, here they are - I love this paper I found last year with cardinals on and I found a stamp also with the same bird and embellished it with a die cut pointsettia from Marianne Designs
The other has stamped stockings from a retired? set from SU - an embossed snowflake backing set on very dark green matte. I based this card on one I originally did as a kit with Shirley last year. There is still time to join in Shirley's Challenge of 50 Christmas cards as it finishes early Dec. I think. Just click on the link above to go to her blog.
Well, off to give the fire a bit of a stir and have a nice cup of hot chocolate, even bought some marshmallows today to go in it!
Take care,
Sandy

In the Orchard
Hi, another quick post. I'm out tonight for my daughter's birthday and not sure whether I will get to post later. I've made another simple card for the Less Is More challenge. The card is Whisper White cardstock and the image from Hero Arts, Poetic Prints has been inked in Basic Grey and coloured with Marvy Markers, red and amethyst to give it a touch of colour. The sentiment is also done in Amethyst. I've again used a backing paper to define the edges of the card for scanning purposes.
That makes two entries for this challenge, I'm also going to add this to the Make It Monday Linky Party.
Take Care,
Sandy

Love in Bloom
Hi another quick post to share this very simple card that I am entering into the Less Is More challenge,
It's on cream card so I've scanned a darker paper behind to define the edges of the card - Stamped in Basic Brown and coloured with Marvy Markers and the sentiment is also done with the markers in orange,
Hope it fits the criteria of the challenge as this is the first time I have entered any challenges apart from Make It Monday Linky Party

Champagne Anniversary Toast
Hello to all who are visiting today. Just a quick post to share this card I made for a friend's wedding anniversary. I've used a vintage image stamped in basic grey and used very minimal colouring, It's on a navy blue base card with a panel of ds paper and a blue ribbon from stash. Well, it's late and have housework to do tomorrow, need to get some washing done so hope there is no rain!
Take care and thanks for popping in,
Sandy.

Lady in Blue
Hope you are all having a relaxing weekend. It's a long weekend here in Adelaide, but still cold!
Tonight's post is yet another lady from the set I've used on the last 2 posts - there were 4 ladies altogether so still have one to do.
Here she is, coloured blue and mounted onto this lovely stripey paper (not sure whether it was from SU or somewhere else) I've added a die cut swirl and emnbellished with 3 acrylic self sticking flowers I picked up last year from one of the cheap shops and a Birthday sentiment stamped in Basic Brown.
Helen, made this one up after tea tonight! Helen was telling me today that she always reads what time I post and so she knows how late I stay up.
Anyway thanks for stopping in and if you haven't seen the last two posts you might like to go back and check out the ladies!
Take care,
Sandy

A Touch of Lace
Welcome to anyone stopping by to look at the blog today, hope there is something here that will appeal to you.
A quiet day home, trying to stay warm, did some washing and a bit of sorting out in my craft room.
The card I am sharing today is another image from "Party Girls" set. I've used Soft Suede and Crumb Cake cardstock from SU and Basic Grey to stamp the woman and then coloured in with SU ink, Sentiment from SU "Well Scripted" and inked in Close to Cocoa.
I used a Nellie Snellen Die and a touch of lace at the base of the DS paper also from SU
Brrr!!!! it is cold in the lounge room (that's where the scanner is) so I am off to the family room and the fire,
See you tomorrow,
Take care,
Sandy

Dressed to the Nines
Well, hope everyone has had a good day, it's late here and it's another cold night. I still have my daughter's two dogs as well as our two - she said she might be late coming to get them, but I think maybe they will be staying the night. If only they wouldn't eat their bed! My laundry looks like it has had a fall of snow because they chew a hole and pull out the stuffing!!! YEAH, she's just arrived, so hopefully there will be no bed eating!
Anyway, I got stamps in the mail today, a set called "Party Girls" by Creative Expressions, another E-bay find!
Hope you like this one Shirley as this is the set I got for you.
I've stamped her on a light apricot/peach colour and coloured her in two different browns. I added the backing paper and a fancy die cut and the sentiment from SU on a piece punched with the wide oval, I used white so I've sponged with Close to Cocoa to blend in, I also thought it was a bit bare in the LH corner, I tried pearls, then a flower but didn't look right so opted for a birthday greeting, Not sure if it is quite right but it is done now!
Well thanks to all of you that left wonderful comments for me on my last post, was the most comments I've had to date, they are much appreciated,
So keep well and will be back to post tomorrow night, I'm entering this one into the Make It Monday Linky Party

Wistful Love
Hello everyone, welcome to any who are visiting for the first time, Hope you find something to interest you!
I actually made a card from beginning to end at craft today because I was the only one on my table. It is very unusual for me to actually do this because I am usually helping someone else or haven't brought the right things with me. LOL, I like to have all my stuff so I can fossick in my stash and find just the right thing.
So here is my card for today's post - The card base is vanilla with the edges being distressed with ink. I used two different papers one to cover most of the card and the other to matte the image and sentiment. The image is from Kaszazz and is called Elegant Lady and the sentiment is from SU, I wanted to leave the image fairly plain but highlighted it by colouring the flowers with Marvy Markers which I applied with a blender pen. I also distressed the edges of the image fairly heavily to give it more of an aged look.
I'm going to enter this one into The Make It Monday Linky Party.
Off to watch a bit of tv and to play around with a few stamped images, I've got the fire going again as it's another cold night
So take care,
Sandy

Friendship is a Journey
Another cold day here in Adelaide, more rain! I had an enjoyable time with Shirley today and it would be lovely if Michelle could be there too, I know your Mum would love it! I had choir practice tonight and my friend and I left early because they were trying to get the wall heater to ignite and there was a strong smell of gas - they didn't get it lit! Both my friend and I have adverse reactions to some things and gas is one of them, so we left half way through.
I've not really had the time to make anything at home today, but I have a few cards that I made earlier this year and haven't shared yet, so I am posting one of those tonight.
I've forgotten what the name of this stamp set is, but it's a retired SU set. I've scanned it with a piece of coloured paper behind it as it is a cream coloured base card with a maroon cardstock used for the border punched piece and also the matte. I added a flower which I put a bit of ink on to tone in with the ink used in the sentiment and a piece of lace which I also coloured slightly with basic brown ink.
Thanks again for all the lovely comments that are being left on the blog and hope you all have a good day tomorrow.
Take care,
Sandy

Windblown
Hello everyone, thanks for all the tips about the clear stamps and the different inks. Have been out to my son and DIL's today with my Mum and son Ryan to see little Isaac. He is nearly 3 weeks old now and doing well and my granddaughters are quite happy with their new little brother at this stage!
I've also been out for dinner tonight to celebrate a friend's birthday so haven't been at home very much today.
Luckily, I started this card a couple of days ago and have just finished putting it all together, The girl image had a swirly background behind her on one side only and I decided to cut it off so I could just have her on the topnote die cut. Base card is pink with a pink patterned paper and then a piece of ribbon from stash and an SU greeting stamp, She is coloured with SU inks.
I'm going to enter this into the Make It Monday Linky Party
Off to Shirley's tomorrow to make another 3 cards so I had better go and pack my bits and pieces ready to go in the morning.
See you and thanks for stopping in,
Sandy

Wedding Day
Well, it's been a cold blustery day today with a few heavy downpours of rain. I've just come home from an evening out with friends listening to a Jazz Band. I made this card earlier using a clear set of stamps from Inkadinkadoo, Not really pleased with the way they have stamped, I'm not sure whether this is the style but I would like it to be a clearer image for both the bride and the sentiment. I've heard that you can rub new clear stamps lightly with sandpaper to condition them. Has anyone done this?
I stamped off a greeting To Have and To Hold from Shirley today but I had already made this card so will use that on another one later. Still trying out different images etc for my son's wedding card. Still have until March next year, LOL.
I've used a pink card base and this delightful yellow and pink swirled paper with pink and yellow roses on it and stamped the image with Basic Grey cut it out and adhered to the front and added the greeting in Basic Grey as well.
Thanks for stopping by - I'm off for a drink and to watch tv for a short while.
Hope you have all had a good weekend,
Sandy

Stepping Out In Style
Thanks for all the lovely comments left for me and welcome to new followers, It's nice to meet you!
I've been out to my friend's house where a group of us meet on Saturdays and do beading, I often sneak in the cards though and either teach them all something or just take my own stuff when I don't want to bead. We did bead today, we're making a small framed topiary tree made with beads and a small button pot with a silk ribbon attached- I've made one before so as well as making another one I am showing the others what to do. It's not hard - just a circle of beads with a stem of bugle beads, a silk bow and a small pot. The hard bit will be making the box frame as it is quite a few years ago that I made mine and I had help. Hope we get it right!
Well here is today's card.
It is based on a card shown in the SU catalogue which I particularly liked. The circles were two toned but no images on them. I have this little set of Hero Arts stamps called Fancy Shoes and thought they would look good on this layout. I added some pink paper with white dots, a border edged piece the same as the base card and a dotty ribbon and a greeting from SU stamped and cut out with the window punch.
Hope you all are having an enjoyable weekend,
Take care,
Sandy.

Anniversary Date
Welcome to my blog today, hope you find something to interest you. A reasonable morning but we had late afternoon rains and it was cold inside so I've had the wood fire going. I made a couple of cards this afternoon and this is one of them. The card base is a very dark blue with a blue green floral paper and a brown patterned paper die cut with my image on top. I stamped it, coloured with inks and then cut it out to use- added 3 little blue pearls and the SU anniversary greeting from "A Word for You"
I hunted through all my stamps looking for this set before it clicked that it was a clear set in a cassette and I keep them in a different spot. I thought I was going nuts!!! I've added this to Make It Monday Linky Party
See you next time,
Sandy

Birthday Gift
Thanks for stopping by today. Had our Thursday craft afternoon at my friend Jane's house today. She's been in hospital but is gradually feeling a bit better, although she is not too comfortable sitting at present!
Well, better hurry up and get this post done so it goes in on today's date.
I've used a border punch to make the matte for this little girl who looks like she is off to a party carrying her favourite panda bear and a gift. I have bought a very small number of copic markers so the hair and the skin are coloured with these and the rest I used jelly roll pens to give some sparkle.
I'm off to let the dogs out for a few minutes and then pack up and go to bed. Was a bit late getting to bed last night and I need to be up and get organized to teach some stamping tomorrow. Thanks Monica for your sweet comments.
So take care,
Sandy

Gathering flowers
Hello everyone, I had craft at the church where I teach cards today and have a new student - she normally does paper embroidery but is getting a bit bored with it so asked if she could do some stamping. I think she was pleased with the card she made. I see her again on Fridays, so will also help her out then. I also got her trying out colouring with inks too. It's not so easy to teach colouring as I still don't always get it right myself.
Anyway here is my card for today, another vintage lady. This time in purple, my favourite colour! I've stamped her onto a white die cut and mounted onto this lovely paper with very pale muted purple flowers at the bottom of it. I added the Happy Birthday from SU Well Scripted and also this cute little butterfly from the Clearly for You SU set. A bit of pearl bling embellishment on the butterfly. I stamped it first on the paper and then again on white card so I could cut it out without the antennae
I'm going to enter this in the Make It Monday Linky Party
Thankyou again to those who are leaving comments, I enjoy reading them,
