And the rain came down..... Yes, it finally arrived today and has been fairly steady most of the afternoon and is still raining now. I think we had some overnight too. Our son had to bring all his tools etc home from his now ex workplace and had piles of stuff on the ground outside last night. He had gone to bed, so I went to check what was there because I didn't want anything left that might get stolen. Well, he had quite a bit of gear out there including framed certificates and folders of papers which I presume have to do with mechanics. I made about 10 trips in the dark bringing them inside - I'm glad I did because the paperwork and frames would have been ruined.
I had church this morning and it was a good service. I caught up with a friend, Ruth. I stopped on the way home at the shops and bought groceries to make our evening meal and also rolls etc for lunch. Again, Ryan, was here helping out with a few things so fed him as well. All the family were over for tea as well as my friend, Fran (her hubby went away on a shooting trip) Our eldest daughter is leaving for 3 months going up north to work in a tourist resort. so she wanted to get together with the rest of her siblings and us to say goodbye. She will have to do a bit of wedding prep long distance.
Look out for tomorrow's post as I have a bit of news to share...
Onto the card for today.
I used SU Pink Pirouette for the basecard, a layer of white card from stash and then some pink and white gingham DP also from stash ( had it for quite a while!) I used a nestie die to cut the swirly white diecut and then added a pink square. The image is a freebie (with magazine purchase) that I bought last year? and it is a Lili of the Valley image. I cut it out as a square to fit inside the pink one. I coloured it with pink Copic markers and just added a tiny bit of colour for the skin and the hair and the floor. The sentiment is from SU Petite Pairs and inked with SU Pink Passion, I also went over it with a Pink Gelly Roll Pen. I stamped it onto a white diecut square and added a pink diecut square behind it. I used the gelly roll pen to make some faux stitching and added some pink bling. I also added a little bling to the flower on the little girl's hat.
I decorated the inside as well with white card, a piece of the gingham DP and two more squares, I used a small cupcake from an Annabelle Stamps set- inked it with Early Espresso, coloured with Copic Markers and cut it out and adhered to the bottom right hand corner of the squares.
I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Wow, you should hear the rain at the moment, we have a tin roof and it certainly is bucketing down, glad I'm inside and nice and toasty tonight.
Take Care,
Sandy
front of card - the colour of the DP is actually pink and white - it looks a bit red here! Technology, bah, humbug, LOL.
