Welcome to my blog today, I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was interesting, lol. Our youngest daughter's partner plays lead guitar in a couple of bands and one of them was playing at a hotel Saturday night so we booked a table for ourselves, our daughter and one of our sons and his wife and had a nice meal together and then sat there for the rest of the night listening to the band play. Our eldest son popped in and stayed for a while as well. We got home around midnight and I hopped onto the computer for a short while, went outside and locked up the shed (not impressed having to do that at 1 in the morning!) that youngest son had forgotten to do. I came back inside and was thinking I had better get some sleep and the home phone rang. It was Mum telling me she had called an ambulance because her nose had been bleeding profusely for an hour so I hopped in the car and drove over to her house. I got there before the ambulance (a busy Saturday night for them) and they decided to take her to hospital to have it checked out. Her blood pressure had soared to 210 as well. I went in the ambulance with them and she got seen straight away which was good. I stayed with her while they kept a check on her and then about 4 a.m. the doctor decided that she should stay in the emergency ward until morning so I headed out to the desk to ask them to ring me a taxi. Well....... a couple before me had been waiting over 30 mins for one and I thought I was going to have a long wait too. We have the Fringe Festival on in town at the moment as well as all the young ones out nightclubbing etc. Their taxi finally came and luckily mine was only about five minutes later. I picked up my car from Mum's house and got home about 5 a.m. I got a bit of sleep and then went back to the hospital to pick her up. She's exhausted but okay and quite a bit out of pocket having to pay a huge amount to be seen at the private hospital. Her fund doesn't pay out on these sorts of services and the government apparently give back a very small percentage. It will be interesting to see how much that is.
Anyway we've both made up some of the sleep we lost and time to get back to some semblance of "normality", lol.
