Teddy Bear Christmas

Well it's the last day of February and it's been a bit cooler here today. A couple of our friends came down from the country and are staying with us overnight. The men went off to the Clipsal Car Race and us gals had a lazy morning at home and then a quick trip to the craft shop and picked up some lunch and afternoon tea and headed over to Jane's for a craft session. There were 5 of us today. We had a good time and then came back home for a short while and then out again to tea at the hotel. The guys were still in at the race track and decided to do their own thing food wise. My Mum, brother and 3 other friends met for tea at the hotel and we sat around afterwards for a while talking.
The guys rocked up here at home about 15 - 20 mins after us and we spent the rest of the evening talking and watching a bit of tv. It will be a very early morning tomorrow as our friends are going on a short holiday and have to catch an early flight.
So I will hurry up and get this post done and get some sleep or they will be up before I get to bed, LOL.

Tweet Friendship -GL59 Gingerloft DT card

Another weekend over!!! Stayed home today and made a DT card and sorted through some boxes, got rid of some scrappy bits of paper and card that I've been holding on to for to long. The recycling bin gets emptied tomorrow so it was a good time to be filling it up. I even found a pattern for a beaded necklace (one using needle and thread) that I bought over a year ago and put somewhere then couldn't find it. It was still in a small pink paperbag so it was lucky that I thought to peek into it before throwing it out!
Anyway, I had better get on and share my card with you. Make sure you come back tomorrow to check out my DT card for Make It Monday. Unfortunately my DT card for Gingerloft clashes a bit with that one so have to do two posts close together.
This fortnight the challenge over at Gingerloft  is to use Ribbon and Bows

Here is my card:...

Kindness is never wasted

Watched some tv last night and ran out of time to make a card. Fridays, Layla our granddaughter is here with her brother and she loves making cards so I usually supervise and help her a little bit so I don't get any cardmaking done during the day either. She loves to sit up at my little table and colour her image and stick the card layers together. She must have a reasonable stash as we usually make two cards a week!!!
I had a bit of a sleep in this morning and then made sure I had my music pieces sorted for the performance we did this afternoon. We sang at a Rotary Club Peace Forum Meeting at the Adelaide Oval clubrooms. All new buildings. They pulled all the old stands down and have been doing a major refit of the oval. I've never been there before as I am not a huge cricket fan. I don't mind watching it occasionally. We then had some casual photos taken afterwards. We didn't wear our normal uniform but we had black trousers, black 3/4 sleeve top and a coloured satin scarf. We were able to choose the colour from about 4 or 5 colours and lucky for me they had my favourite, Purple!!! It was very hot today so wearing all that was a bit much, luckily we were in airconditioned areas and it's only about 5-10 mins from my home.
Hope you are either keeping warm or cool depending where you live and enjoying your weekend.
I decided to make a CAS card to share tonight - so have just gone with DP and some card and a sentiment and a bit of ribbon. Hope you like it. It could be used as a Thankyou card or an Encouragement card too.

Aubery Bumblethorpe

Hi, this week is speeding away quickly! Our youngest daughter came over this morning and she and I went off to the travel agents to book tickets to Vietnam. It's all a bit nerve wracking trying to work out where we want to go when everything is unfamiliar. Hubby has left the planning to me and I'm just as in the dark as he is, LOL. Anyway, we now have a more firm itinerary and even a small tour for two nights on a junk out of Halon Bay where there are lots of little islands. Hope we don't get seasick! We will be all going our separate ways after our son's wedding - our daughter will be travelling with us so that will be good. If hubby decides he wants to do something different he can and I will still have company and feel able to out and about a bit.
That took up all morning and then I dropped her off so she could go and organise her passport and I headed off to craft. I did manage in between playing scramble with a couple of the girls, to colour two images and the one I've used on my card tonight is one of them.
Hubby left his phone home today and didn't come home when he normally does so I ended up still going to our regular outing for tea with friends, no choir practise so back home again and pottered around. He got home quite late so that means he won't have to start early tomorrow morning.
Okay onto the card.....

Fairy wishes for a sweet birthday

Hello and welcome to my blog. If your visiting please leave me a comment so I can pop in and visit you too. I hope you find some cards here that may interest you. Tuesday is the day a friend and I go to Shirley's house and make cards, eat, talk, laugh and generally enjoy each other's company. Her Hubby Doug bought us all a donut on his early foray on his gopher to the shops.  As usual we grab a quick bite on the way home and Fran dropped me off as she had to go to work unexpectantly. I spent the afternoon home, did another load of washing, certainly not the amount I used to now there are only the two of us here. I decided to make a potato bake to go with our Chicken Kievs for tea as my hubby was going to a bike club meeting and I had to go to choir. The choir is singing at a Peace Forum being held this Saturday and we are rehearsing for that and also a concert to be held on Anzac Day.
So as usual it's quite late here and so I will get on and share my card,

I've only done the front and part of the inside of the card. It's too late to go rummaging for a piece of card to make some more diecuts!!! Will do that later and edit post I've added a piece of black card behind this to scan as the first scan I did wouldn't pick up the colour of the fairy at all and also the DP and diecut circle were the wrong colour too!!! I hate scanners!!!!
The little fairy's dress is a bit darker that what it shows here.

Recipe:
Pink Cardstock from stash
Coffee coloured cardstock also from stash
The main piece of DP is from SU Lap of Luxury 12x12 paper pack
The other piece of DP is from a scrap pack I bought ages ago
Image is from Whoopsi Daisy - Sheet 243
Cupcake and sentiment are from Kanban  clear stamp set ~ Fairy Cakes
Punches - large oval and scalloped oval
Nestie Dies - Classic circle - small , scalloped circle large
Black Memento inkpad
DS  tape roller
Foam Dots

I am entering this into the following challenges:

Well better go, hubby has woken up and is wandering around (LOL, he's gone back to bed now)
So thanks for popping in and to those of you who take the time to leave me a comment, they are much appreciated!

This week we are being sponsored by Bugaboo, who make such wonderful images for all occasions. I was lucky enough to be able to work with these cute bears
Our youngest son is getting married in June so thought this might be appropriate.

80th Birthday card for Noel

Hi everyone, I hope you a having a relaxing weekend. We had an 80th birthday lunch to go to today. I got up a bit late and by 10:30 a.m. wondered where hubby had got to as he was already gone when I got up. He likes to go to garage sales on Saturday mornings. I rang him and found out he was actually working. We were supposed to be at the lunch by noon and we had to travel about 40 mins or so to get there. Well, he didn't get home till nearly 1 p.m so we were really late leaving. By the time we got there people were about half way through their meals and the only seats left were with some of the older people who I did not know and hubby likes to wander around talking to friends, so ended up sitting  there with strangers for half of the time!!!
We left there and were headed for a picnic by 4p.m. organised by the church. We found the place and nobody was there. A couple of minutes later a Polish couple turned up and we decided to go and find a place to set up and met another couple, Chinese this time and they couldn't speak any English!!! We ended up ringing the lady that organised the picnic and found out they had cancelled due to hot weather and also the park was half closed due to major reconstruction. Trying to tell the Chinese people that didn't work but we all left anyway. I'm not sure how they got there, but by the time we walked back to our car they were nowhere in sight. Oh well, we headed back home, hubby had a sleep as he'd been up early and I watched a bit of tv and then ended up having a lie down after he got up because I ended up with a headache. An interesting day!!!!
I forgot to make Noel's card earlier so it was very last minute and I ended up using a card that I made with Shirley last year I think. It was a card made from a kit and fairly basic so I added an image, the number 80 and a couple of diecut pieces for the inside. I also sponged around the circle I punched and around the edge of the card with SU close to cocoa ink - I wrote on the card so didn't bother to scan it.
So.... here is the finished card.

The image is from Make It Crafty and I coloured it with Copic Markers and fussy cut it out.

Well better head off to bed, Thanks for stopping by.

Sandy

Kitten playing in the grass

Hi again, babysat the grandchildren today, so a quick trip out to have coffee with friends - I had to drop off a magazine to Shirley as I forgot to take it with me to craft on Tuesday. The kids and I popped into the cheap shop to buy a couple of crafty bits and pieces and then to the supermarket for lunch ingredients and a few other groceries.
A chat with Mum on the phone after I put Isaac to bed and then some cardmaking with Layla, she wanted to finish her card she started on Monday. I should take pics of them but I keep forgetting to do it and she takes them home to put in her box that I bought her to store her card stash in. Her first Get Well card, LOL.
The concerts in the park that the council put on have started this month on Friday nights so my friend, Fran and I went. We had barbeque tea there put on by one of the charities and then sat back and listened to the band. Easy listening music which got better towards the end when they did a bit more swing style and the leader (a man) sang. The only woman they had in the group played two different instruments and also sang but she was not good!!!
It was late when I got home (hubby decided to go into town to the Fringe Festival parade and got home about 20 mins later than me) so relaxed a bit and then got stuck into finishing off a DT card and also the card I am sharing tonight.
Here is what I came up with.....

Going for a ride in my car ~ Vroom, Vroom

Hello from sunny (hot) Adelaide, another very warm day today, I had a quiet morning at home, did some washing, talked to my Mum. Hubby went off to work early and then came back home not long after, they wanted him to start work at 4.30 p.m and work late, so he had the day off. He did some jobs around the house and registered a couple of our vehicles too. That was good now I don't have to do it.  I had a quick lunch with a friend, grabbed some afternoon tea and headed over to Jane's for our Thursday craft group. Four of us today as our friend Joyce was off having some hydrotherapy to help with her leg muscles.
Went out and met friends for tea at the hotel, our middle son came too and then I headed off to church choir practise. There is a "Fringe" festival being held in and around town over the next week or so and there is a street parade tomorrow night so it took me longer to get home as they were setting up and blocking off roads so traffic was reduced to one lane.
My card for tonight was started earlier today but I only finished it about an hour ago and have been playing Scramble with a friend on my phone so LOL, just getting to come and write up my post.
Here is my card......(oops forgot to put a diecut on the inside so will be back later with another pic of that)

O Little Town of Bethlehem 2013

I had a full day today, starting off with a craft session at my friend Shirley's. Just me today as my usual crafting buddy Fran was off on a caravaning holiday with her hubby. They got home today. Shirley and her hubby Doug shouted me some lunch, I bought myself a t-shirt that was reduced and then headed over to catch up with Mum for a while. We talked and also looked through a clothing catalogue. I'm after a dress to wear to my son's wedding in Vietnam in June. Weddings there are nothing like our traditional services I am told so I am not 100% sure what to wear. We will be going to Emma's home on the morning of the wedding, then sometime they go somewhere else and sign documents and then at night there is a big reception. So maybe I need two outfits?
I was supposed to go to choir tonight but have been feeling a bit off, so stayed home. So I will get on and share with you the card I made and then head off for some much needed sleep!!!
Here it is.......

Recipe:

Howdy from Little Miss Muffet Stamps!  This little shoppe was inspired by a house full of Little Miss Muffets and arachnophobes alike. It isn't too difficult to image how I ended up here since I've been drawing and coloring from the moment I picked up a crayon. Now as I sit in my hobby room I get to share my passion with my own Little Miss Muffets who love to work along side of me.  Now I'm excited to share creations from two additional artists... Pollycraft by Paula and introducing Simply Sophia!!  With our three unique styles there is something you are sure to enjoy!

Little Miss Muffet will be offering our winner
3 digis of their choice!

Coffee & Friends

I have a new follower, Welcome! I hope we get to catch up on each other's work from time to time.
I got up early this morning and rushed around getting all the goodies I needed to teach an origami box to my class today and then headed out a bit earlier to go to Lincraft as there was a Big Shot advertised cheap and I thought I might get it. I also had to be at a certain place between home and craft to pick up my grandson, so was a bit pushed for time. I got to the shop about 5 mins before it opened and was the first customer. I thought instead of wandering around looking for it, I would just ask. I was not impressed when I got told it was an on-line offer only!!! They had limited stock and I thought I would be out of luck by the time I got home in the afternoon. Little Isaac and I had lunch, I put him to bed for a sleep and then hopped on the computer and thought I would just check. I clicked on purchase and it all went through so you gotta be lucky sometimes.
We had corned beef for tea tonight and just like last week, when I cooked the roast, I got a text message from hubby to say he was going to be late. One of our sons rang up about 7p.m. asking what we were having for tea as he was supposed to have band practise and that fell through but his wife had already made arrangements to go out for the evening (LOL to get away from the noise! probably) so he and I ate together and hubby arrived home about 5 mins after Ryan had left. LOL, our youngest son was here for the roast last week because some plans he had also fell through.  We are very convenient for meals aren't we, LOL.
Well better stop chatting and get on and share the card I've made tonight.

Recipe\:
SU Pumpkin Pie cardstock for basecard and mattes
Cream cardstock from stash ( I've had this several years, slowly used the 100 sheets up!)
Orange and white polka dot DP from SU
Image and sentiment are from clear stamp set by Technique Tuesday called Coffee Talk
Black Mementon inkpad
Scalloped square punch
Copic Markers
Glue roller

Floral card - Triple Time Stamping

Hi and welcome to my blog, if you're visiting I hope you find something here to interest you. I did my usual things for a Tuesday, spent time with Shirley and Fran making cards, a quick lunch out and then  home to do a bit of laundry. Quite hot today so got everything dry even though the last load didn't make it out to the clothes line until about 6 p.m.
Our youngest daughter popped in to show me a couple of new pages in her scrap book and ended up staying for a bit of tea. I had choir tonight but got there about 10 mins late, came in on the last of the vocal warm ups.  I drop a friend home, so I didn't arrive back here until about 10:30 p.m.
I've spent some time on the computer and then sat down and made this card to share. A technique I first saw at my friend Jane's and then I saw that it was the theme for one of the challenge blogs, so.... watched the video tutorial and then had a go.
Here is what I made......

Front of card (I haven't had time to do the inside yet)

 Recipe:
Black Card Stock from Stash
White Card Stock from Stash
SU Pumpkin Pie inkpad
SU Certainly Celery Inkpad
Sentiment and Flower from SU set Love and Care
Heart Charm from Stash
Ribbon from Stash

LOL, I certainly did a good job of shopping my stash today. No new items and all of these ones I've had for quite a while too!

MIM#126 Drummin' with Kenny K

Don't the weeks seem to be getting shorter? It's again time for another Linky Party over at Make It Monday. As usual, you can share anything you want and even maybe share an older post.
Congrats go to Helen as our featured artist and to Jackie C as the winning commenter. Hope you enjoy your prize.
We are being sponsored by the wonderful Kenny K this week and the DT got to play with some fab images. I chose "Buggin Drummer" as I have a son that plays in a band - He drums but also plays some guitar. I decided to try out making this cubed container using CD cases and I will put it away and give it to him for his birthday (not until August, LOL but it's done now, yeah!!!)
A bit heavy on photos this time as I want to show all 4 sides of the cube.

This is the main panel featuring Kenny K's drummer- you can sort of see from this one that it is a cubed box.
There is a thick cardboard base on the bottom to hold it in shape and you could probably keep lightweight objects inside.

The next 3 pictures show the other sides of the cube(sorry it took me ages to get these photos because of the glare on the plastic, I hope you can see them okay)

This one used the sentiment and guitar stamps from a little stamp set called Rock On by Technique Tuesday.
I stamped it on the paper and then again onto some card, fussy cut it out, coloured it and 2D it on to the original image.

Recipe:
Packet of CD cases (the thicker ones)
Black cardstock from Stash
DP from Kaisercraft Paper Pad - Rewind Collection (cut the little circles out from this pack too)
Nestie Dies - Labels Twenty-three and Grommet Tags
Celebrate stamp was from a freebie set with a magazine
Red gems from stash
Copic Markers
Blue inkpad from SU

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Challenges 4 Everybody - Challenge #13 ~ Anything Goes
Catch the Bug challenge blog - February Anything Goes
One Stop Craft Challenge - Challenge 214 ~ Anything Goes
Inspire Me Fridays - 94 ~ Anything Goes
