Hi everyone, today continued on from yesterday's cold temps and didn't warm up at all. Hubby and I went off to church and I was received into membership there today. I've been going there for nearly two years after attending my last church for about 21 years. I just had to apply to transfer my membership and be accepted into my current church. An old friend, who was the caretaker at our old church was visiting this weekend from interstate. Her company had sent her over to attend a conference on Thursday and Friday and told her to stay the weekend and travel back on Monday. She came to the service this morning as one of the ministers is an old friend of hers too and she has been staying with her. My husband and I were invited to go out to lunch with them and we chatted for quite a while, not getting home until about 3.15 p.m. My mouth is still not good and I decided to have a sleep before going out again tonight for our DIL's birthday at a hotel near them. All the kids were there and the grandchildren. The youngest one got a huge bump on his head when his nearly 4 year old sister decided to pick him up and carry him. I think she dropped him and he hit his head on a step. Poor little thing it was really a nasty bump!. He has taken to shaking his head to say "No" because he is pulling himself up on the bin in the kitchen and pulling rubbish out and Mum tells him "No" and must shake her head. She has to try and childproof the bin now as he is allergic to a few things and may find bits and pieces in the bin that just handling could cause him a reaction as well as just not being good for him generally digging around in the rubbish!!!
I'm a little bit earlier than usual with my card tonight and I really want to get some sleep so I can take my mind off my teeth, LOL. Dentist tomorrow and hopefully he can do something to stop the pain.
Well here is my card,
The cardbase is pink card from my stash. I layered a piece of textured blue/green cardstock (DCWV) and then a layer of embossed and glittered DP also from DCWV . A mini stack called "Linen Closet" I then cut a nestie shape with the blue/green card and also a large scallop shape in pink and ran it through an embossing folder for texture. I stamped a bird from SU set "Punch Potpourri" and cut it out with the bird punch, including a couple of branches in green card. I adhered the bird to the pink scallop diecut and trimmed one edge. I popped this piece onto the card with foam dots. I added a swirl cut with a Sizzix die and the sentiment was stamped in SU Cherry Cobbler ink and is from TJ Designs Rubber Stamps "Song Birds" by TweetyJill. I used a tag punch to cut out the sentiment tucking the piece through the punch so I could make it longer than normal. I also edged it with Cherry Cobbler, punched a hole and added some pale blue ribbon. The stamped music on the inside of the card is from the same set. I just used the blue/green textured card and a piece of the pink on the inside.
